Agree with you there pal, def something enjoyable and rewarding about using hand shears when the job allows. Most of the time though for practicality it has to be the hedge trimmer. A small decent battery 1 would be ideal 👍
Yeh its not bad mate, only really good for very light trimming though. Not tough enough for anything meaty but does an ok job, this was about as much as it could handle. Prob my least fav of the 3. 👍
Cheers for the batter stihl demo mate , currently I go with the topiary shear but tempted with battery handheld to save the joints of my old man hands LUL .
I suppose for the environment the hand shears should win... Must admit I quite like the idea of going back to hand tools for smal bushes and I'm plucking up courage to buy myself some Niwaki shears....so expensive though.
I just use the good old fashion hand pruning shears. Nothing more therapeutic then chopping away at the branches. Great job shaping them. I always cut too narrow at the base the. Desired. I’ll be more careful this time around.
I think it depends on how many you have to do and how big they are, I use hand shears and finish with the sheep shears and find it quite therapeutic on a nice day but also use powered shears on my larger Topiaries.
This is not a "How To" - it is a demonstration of an artist forming perfect spheres. I have tried many times, using many different tools, to achieve this affect but alas, cannot do it. It's not the tool, it's the skill of the operator. How do you hold the tool, do you lean into it or sideways, do you do this or that? I'm still clueless, lol!
Maybe they are, but the purpose of the exercise was surely to show that a good job can be done whatever tools are used. Actually I don’t think many people could use shears and do such a good job.
Big thanks to everyone who has subscribed and supports the channel, really appreciated. 👍
Why is this so satisfying…I presumed nature… greenery…. Quite when you are no using power tools. Great job.🙂
Thanks, yes i prefer using hand shears, nice and peaceful. 👍
Oops I can't write anymore "quiet" thank you very much... quiet when you are NOT using power tools 😁
You managed to get a good shape on all three - great work !
Thanks for watching 👍
I prefer all three methods you've done. Only if you're the one doing it. Real professional. Much more difficult than you make it look. 👍👍👍
Awesome work 👏
Cheers 👍
Wow impressive trimming especially with the sheers. Great job
Thank you 😁
Well good job. I like the hedge clippers but I think it was the sound lol. All looks great.
Haha thanks
Merapikan tanaman bunga kalau pakai mesin ini memang lebih praktis.. Lebih mudah untuk membentuk yang lebih rapi.. Oke sobat semangat selalu.👍👍😀
Great job sir, you're good at all three. I think the first one looks smoother to me...👍
cheers 👌
You make it look so easy! If I were to try doing the same thing it would look like a half moon 🥴
Thanks 🤣👍
You did a fantastic job. Love what you did with all.
Thanks 👍
Skill speaks for itself, you got skills
Thanks 😁
I love to use shears if time allows. You did a good job with all. Sometimes it's nice not having the smoke and noise. What do you prefer?

Your just lazy cracking the HS 56. Not a brilliant cut
A great job, l like the look of the small Stihl, how do you find it, is the cut quality ok.
Thanks 👍🏻.

😂 yeh its certainly easier, i dont find i use it that often though. 👍
@@RJLgardens yeah I can see they are probably good for the small ones in pots more than the larger ones
Looks great mate👍🏻👍🏻
Cheers 👍
Highly recommended to the battery stuff for box 👍🏻
Yeh i have got battery gear i use on box, all depends which of my trimmers has the sharpest blades at the time 😂
This is so satisfying to watch ❤
Wow wow wow perfectly shaped!👍👍👍whatever the tool
Thanks Sylvia 😊
Nice work!
Thanks!
Such precision.
Thanks 👌
Nice work my respect
Those small Stihl trimmers look good! Do they work well in your opinion and do you recommend them?
They are ok for very small shrubs with light growth, I rarely use mine and its not something i look forward to using 🤣
@@RJLgardens Arh ok so better using some good hedge trimmers?
@@mattseymour8637 Yeh that or hand shears. They are good for very small shrubs in pots etc though when a hedge trimmer is too big.
@@RJLgardens Yes that makes sense.
I like to use shears anyway when the hedge trimmers are too big and you need something more delicate.
Amazing job
Thanks
Excellent mate 🤜🏾🤛🏾💯💪🏾respect

Hand shears are nice to use, very rewarding. Niwaki make good stuff but as you say it isnt cheap 😀
Their pruners are pretty awesome, well worth it
Талант!👍👏

Yeh hand shears are very rewarding to use, a bit tiring if you have a lot to do though 😅 👍
Very good 😊😊😊😊😊
Which brand and type is the hand shears you are using?

👌 Yes any more than a few hrs hand shearing will do me in. 😅
Can you cut them any time of the year and weather conditions
these are generally cut between spring and late summer depending on the type of cut required, stay away from frosts or heatwaves though ideally.
Bel video🌈🙋♂️👍
Depends how many u have to do.
Yeh battery or petrol when you have more than an hrs worth of cutting imo 👍
What species of boxwood are these?
These are just the common box variety 👍
Meaning what are they called
Buxus sempervirens
Sir ya tree konsa ha ore name kia ha

🤣🤣 Yes fair point, it just comes down to practice and patience and a smidge of skill 😀, don't rush them. I am planning a technique vid on them soon. 👍
@@RJLgardens ah yes, patience...I'm American, we're always in a hurry :( But I will subscribe so I can enjoy the show. I do love English gardens !
