I never really considered you hadn't seen the old inner-map areas haha. That part at 8:32 of the video I believe was accesible if you blinked through the Deadmines exit portal, you'd end up between the maps. I also loved wall jumping into Shatterspear Village back before Cata, and once I managed to get into CoT before it was released (had to ask a GM to help me after I fell through the world lol)
I wonder if the white ball in the trees is a titan device that kicks off "ordering" within a radius around the orb or device. Just a funcraftian theory :) Thanks for another great video!
On the topic of the Plaguelands looking like Maldraxxus, that kind of reaffirms the notion that the Primus had a hand in the plague of undeath making its way to Azeroth, which we're led to believe was part of the Zovaal' 3D chess big brain plan to remake the universe lol
I was bummed that Maldraxxus weaponry and iconography making its way to the world of the living wasn’t addressed or made a bigger plot point of the expansion. Maybe it was but was hidden behind what covenant you chose.
I really hoped the room of upside down sinners under Karazhan was implemented into the Shadowlands story after the trailer cinematic showed the shadowlands upside down in the sky. Like Medivh somehow got a glimpse of the horrors of the shadowlands or rather Sargeras did while possessing him and used Medivh to research the shadowlands.
From the Ojibwe Tribe for dream catchers : Their purpose was to protect sleepers, especially children, from bad dreams, nightmares and evil spirits. That could definitely be used in WoW.
I personally think those "dreamcatchers" looks like nerubian. a mix between maw architecture and nerubian... And I'm pretty sure the warlock gear you're thinking about is Nemesis, tier 2 I believe? Tier 2 or 3.
Theory came to me, and I know is off the wall. I need it picked apart, or more thoughts into it. What if Elune IS Azeroth? We have seen representatives of all Cosmic Forces, Naaru, Titans, Demons, Old Gods, Death Pantheon, and so on. We know that Elune use to be in the Shadowlands. The only representation we've seen of Elune is stories Anshe, and Muusha, Temples, Ysera taken to Ardenweald. The Night Warrior. But we've never seen an actual Representative that I can remember of Elune. What if she is Azeroth, but a part of her can exist outside of the planet. Hence Elune the goddess. Elune learned from the shadowlands, has observed all the Cosmic Forces, and knew that greatest deception to throw all of them off was to become corporeal? What if Azeroth was on the verge of Dying/being corrupted by the Old Gods, so a hint was laid down to get Amanthrul to find Azeroth. Elune knew Order could not abide by this, and what happened there happened. When Zovaal did what he did, Azeroth/Elune left the shadowlands to return to Azeroth. To help protect herself. Knowing that the Mortal Races had the potential to become stronger than the cosmic Forces. However, they needed time to grow and evolve. We know that she allowed Teldrassil to happen to send Ardenweald souls, but did not know about Orobos being broken. Her being back "on" Azeroth would explain why she was ignorant of that. What if the Night Warrior ritual is a misinterpretation of an whole Ritual. Just as Magni misinterpreted the Ritual that turned him into Diamond. The Void again encroaches to her Soul yet again, but the Titans are ofcourse busy keeping Sargeras imprisoned. The Light is to fanatical to send help until its almost too late, Fel isn't an option, and we know that Life can't control itself. So Azeroth/Elune is calling out to us now. "Help me Obi-Wan Kenobi you are our only hope." kind of thing. Thoughts? Am I based, or baked? I'd love examples disproving, or ideas that support it.
so the snowy area that he shows in the naxx part of the video, its actually more or less a copy pasted part of a region in winterspring and they used it for the parts of the fight where kel'thuzad summons undead from northrend, the portals are actually just windows directly outside of the room basically. Also in the original naxx , when kelthuzad and the lich king have a conversation the lich kings voice is different than what it is now. It was both arthas and nerzhuls voices talking at the same time.
Two theories for the white ball in ED is what you described, and the Rift of Aln where Xavius is. Cenarius being able to open or close it tracks because he did the same thing to the rift in EN TBC areas were instanced because they exist on Azeroth and Azeroth didnt allow flying. Once they changed it to allow flying, they didnt update either zone and actually put it on azeroth, and it exists on the outland maps as a result. Im sure in Midnight we will get to fly in Quel'thalas, Silvermoon, and the ghostlands, and likely in the draenei areas also. Does this mean the TBC versions are moved to Azeroth's maps? Maybe. I'd rather them move them there, and add soridormi there to swap between eras, than to just remove them completely. But Quel'thalas in particular was what that area behind stratholme was. It even changed the Zone name to Quel'thalas. The area outside KTZ's room, is supposed to be northrend. It's what you see outside the portals the undead spawn from. Sapphiron and KTZ are basically supposed to be in northrend still while the rest of naxx is in EPL, the teleportation pad you step on after clearing naxx is supposed to represent transporting you to a separate ziggurat in northrend. The problem, is Northrend assets didn't exist, so they basically just cut out a piece of Winterspring, removed the weather details, and plopped KTZ's room there.
1:07 You probably missed it, but the wiki does cite Chronicle for it being a "burning green star." Under the 'History' section it's in the second paragraph, near the end. :)

Almost positive the white ball is just a “the rendering software can’t find the file path for this texture and so we are defaulting to displaying a white ball.” This was common in all of Blizzard’s editors as well (broodwar, WC3 map editor)
I was able to explore pretty much everywhere before Cataclysm by levitating-wall-climbing on my priest. AQ, Qqel-Thalas, ZA, Somewhere I have all of the screenshots form back then.

I very much thought the orb was very similar to some of the devices in zereth mortis.

The whole first area has been around since vanilla. Original Emerald Dream work in progress afaik.

Such a good choice!
@@Pyromancer i think it's the color palette used that works on me there.

Kel'Thuzad's room in this video is the same as it is in Classic Era. Those 'horns' on the throne, are spinal chords.
egg on my face as I commented as I was listening, and you corrected it right after I commented. Silly me. = )
Looks like the flower of life that's all around the world history
Hey Pyro, did you ever end up checking out AQ20? Id love to hear your opinion on it.
I plan to do a lore tour soon! Also Uldum and the dungeons and stuff there.

Yeah the upside down moon has nothing to do with Elune it's inspired by Egyptian hieroglyphs and art.
Yep ancient Egyptian heiroglyphs of the moon have nothing to do with the moon. Well said.
dont bother trying to go to Gm island youll get insta ban , Though i dont think youlll be able to get there in retail for that reason
