My guess is these colossal bones were once the sea gods we see on ulduar's walls.

They're just things that the art team thought it would be cool to add, there's no lore behind it.

About the name "Mashan'she" I would want to contribute a theory that I came across because of my research for my books I've written (also adding I'm NO linguist and all this is just layperson interpretation of the information involved). The original source for this theory is part of the research legacy left behind by JRR Tolkien relating to his research in word origins for Lord of the Rings. One of the sources cited was about the meaning of names. For example, in a Swedish context, if you see someone called "Andersson" (random name picked from a name list I just looked at) this typically means "Son of Anders" and there are similar conventions that go on in certain languages for common words. There are languages where the meaning of the word changes based on who you say it to, such as it means one thing if said to a female and something else if said to a male. In other languages you create a context based on family connections, which is something that happens in some Polynesian communities (as I found out from a RUclips video I saw last year).
"An'she" on its own may mean "the sun" but I think we're reading it wrong. I think the words here are "Mashan" and "she" and I think the words need to be read as "Earthmother's Loom" not as "Loom of the Earthmother." I think Mashan means Earthmother, and "she" is a shortened contraction meaning "loom." Similar to how the grammatical contraction of "I have" would become "I've" as an example. We're dealing with the fictional Tauren language here so it may have different contraction rules than our English (or other Earth languages).
We're maybe also looking at the word "Loom" wrong. It's not the item used in weaving that's talked about here I think, but based on the dictionary information it refers to this: "the dim reflection by cloud or haze of a light which is not directly visible, e.g. from a lighthouse over the horizon."
It was a grassland in the past and I would guess the Tauren could see the sun (An'she") loom from one horizon (the east) to the other side (the west). They knew An'she was the Earthmother's son so this PATH became the Earthmother's Loom as in the path An'she was supposedly taking to travel after his mother as she'd disappear over the crest of the horizon.
This is a theory I've had since I first visited Desolace (in 2007) and I'm going to keep to it until Blizzard explains it differently. Go to the ruin on the island in the west, and be there at sunset, and it shows the Night Elves who built the building LIKELY had a similar opinion (the sun is almost central between the two columns of the building on the island).

I think you're right about "mashan" being its own word. But that would be the word for loom, while "'she" would be a gendered suffix that means "of the earthmother". That's why 'she is also present in "An'she", which is the right eye of the earthmother.

If you want more speculation to react to, I suggest "The Cosy Campfire". The person behind the channel has a good theory around Elune, Eonar & the Winter Queen.

Great video, I know his video focused alot on mauradon but i am abit disappointed due to the fact that desolace also holds a placed called Sargeron that stands on top of ex-Elune temples all over the place

Pretty much the reason why blizz says the rpg books aren't canon is because they weren't written by blizzard.

Thought: maybe we are wrong... maybe so many forces are after Azeraroths power but instead her destruction to get her out of the way? She was put to sleep like this elemental to starve he to death in her sleep? The forces against her could not defeat her but could get her to consume her won power to the point of non-exsistance. Remember the Text that used to be in the thunderbluff druid area long ago the tauten did something to lose their partnership with the tree ancients. I wonder if it is connected?

Kind of silly that his theory didn’t reference the classic quest chain to free Theradras AT ALL. You literally have to fight a titan construct to free her from the prison.
She communicates with you through crystals in Ararhi Highlands.

Yea during cata the huge focus of Desolace was placed in life coming back to it and that is where a lot of the quests involved. The western side where the vault was got erased like he showed and I do not think a vast majority of the player base even noticed.

When did Orodur become canon? Seschenal is referred to in one of the Time Rift trinkets, Taeshalach and Gorribal are a transmog (Tae and the mini Gorribal Trading Post weapons) and a zone asset (Gorr). I can't find anything on Orodur? Don't recall seeing it in Antorus.
