A speed upgrade on that route is not possible. The new 3rd/4th line will be a high speed line. Note that the Ernakulam-Shoranur route is fit for 80kmph - trains do NOT exceed this speed for any reason.
Alappuzha needs track doubling along with an additional platform. Do you think there will be an additional platform in future as Kottayam got two more platforms.
The train seems to run faster from thrissur to Shornur than from eranamkulam to thrissur. Can you say the maximum speed limit of Eranakulam to Aluva and Aluva to Thrissur?

@adithyaksujithan2280 there is no 85. The route has a maximum permissible speed of only 80kmph. Trains cannot go over their mps.
How to find distance restriction of a train
There is no easy way out. You'll have to search for availability between different source-destination combinations to find that.
