Russ alone was causing serious issues for the suns, with PG and klaw they win that, and they’d beat the Mavs, the Lakers, the grizzlies, and whatever other team you’ll name. Only the nuggets have a chance to beat them with their great team chemistry and Jokic, but PG and Klaw are shutting down Murray and MPJ, and while Jokic is a beast all by himself, I’m not sure he can out score the clippers by himself

Let's be real, russ doesn't put them anywhere over the edge to be able to compete for a title, and the clippers don't have the same depth they did back in the bubble or even the year after when they went to the conference finals. The Lakers for the most part kept their core, the warriors will always be a threat, the kings are coming back in a big way, and the nuggets still have a chance to repeat. And who's to say the Celtics or any east contender can't beat them if they even make it far enough? There's too many ifs for the clippers to make a real run at a title

    Anything with the Young Big 3 Okc you cant blame on Russ because he nor James were never looked at as more than sidekicks for KD. After KD left, Russ was stuck with a young OKC team (young V.O. & young Sabonis). He then gets Paul George (who was AMAZING with Russ) and gets an old Melo who was serviceable but just wasnt ready to fill the role of coming off the bench like they needed which that plus a “Lucky shot” from Dame killed all hope that team had left causing them to get rid of everyone including Russ. Russ then played with Harden again (Fit just wasnt there), played with Beal and the Wiz (Do we even count that as anything fr?😂), Then the stupidest move which was joining a team with no shooting/spacing (Lakers) in a shooting era, making Russ the scapegoat for LA by calling out Russ and his lack of shooting specifically like they didnt know he couldnt shoot like that when they first traded for him🤦🏽‍♂️. Now hes on the Clips who are probably the best fit for him atm (only Star on that team who can stay healthy) and his best shot at a title🤦🏽‍♂️😭

    Russ is one of my all time favorite players. Russ, KD, Harden were in the finals at 21 and 22 years old against the "team up"heat after beating the Spurs. Then Presti broke up the team. Who breaks up the core of a team that young that goes to the finals? Eventually that Spurs team would go on to beat the Heat. You leave the OKC big 3 in tact, Russ would have at least 2 titles. Winning a title isn't easy, takes some luck. Doesn't diminish him as an all-time great.

    Just like everyone else in the west at the time they were stuck in the warriors dynasty. East, you're in the back burner to LeBron. Don't put that on him like everyone else didn't face that same fate. His first legit chance was with the Lakers, which wasn't entirely his fault because of how dysfunctional that whole organization was at that time because ad & bron being injured throughout the season. Rob Pelinka had to pull off a heist to get the team we seen last post season. Now he's with the clippers with arguably worst co stars injury prone wise. Naming the caliber of players he's played with does not tell the full story. And I could go on about that alone

    • @anthonybello1447
      @anthonybello1447 Год назад +2

      You can't swing both ways with this argument on the Lakers. You can't say well the Lakers org was dysfunctional at that point with russ there then mention the trade moves that Rob pelinka (who was a part of this "dysfunctional organization") made and say they got their shit together. Which is it? Were they dysfunctional or not? Let's just call it like it is, russ didn't live up to expectations, the stars got hurt (which happens, that doesn't make an organization dysfunctional), rob pelinka made great moves and righted the ship to about as far as they could possibly take it. With the choices Rob made, he fixed the russ problem, and has a good core now.

    • @yoitmeree
      @yoitmeree Год назад +1

      @@anthonybello1447 yes I can , because that's what happened 😂. Its cause and effect. They were shitty and made changes. He wasn't a fit from the jump because he has to have the ball in his hands like Bron. People were saying as soon as the trade happen. If fans knew that, they knew that. Again. Beause the main peices were injured, they never had the chance to have chemistry. They couldnt have a consistent identity for a whole year. Russ being his first year at a new club, was left for the wolves because he was the only guy out there and a superstar. He even said he didnt lnow what was going on. Thats a coaching problem if your superstar, let alone starting pg doesn't know what he's doing. How he looked missing shots and having turnovers is what people focus on but had 18/7/7 while playing more games than Bron or AD. To put that season failure on him is a cop out

    • @anthonybello1447
      @anthonybello1447 Год назад +2

      @@yoitmeree no it's the truth, not a cop out. Statlines mean nothing if they don't amount to wins, basketball is more than just statlines, he wasn't contributing to winning basketball. Funny how now you drop the dysfunctional part and now just say they were shitty. So you didn't have it both ways, you thought they were a badly built team, not a dysfunctional organization, because a real dysfunctional organization wouldn't have made those moves to begin with, and would've just stuck it out regardless of results. And if you're point guard doesn't know what he's doing, that's not a coaching problem, that's a superstar problem. He wanted to play on a championship team but couldn't put in the work to improve his game, and his coach is supposed to help him every step of the way? Yeah no that's not how that works, he had bad stretches of games, got benched, and then wanted to say he doesn't understand what the organization was doing when he was the one contributing to their losses even when the superstars were healthy.

      @@anthonybello1447 You're just nitpicking to argue at this point. Stop making assumptions or adding on to what I said, I'm telling you clear as day what I'm saying. They were both shitty AND dysfunctional. Two things can be true and exist at the same time. Cause and effect man. You're having a hard time grasping that. Im not even going to entertain that you just said Russ of all people doesn't put in work. Is a coach suppose to help you every step of the way? YES! That's what coaching is 😂. They coach you to perform better. That's why there is a coaching staff. They all have different jobs for the players. The players doesn't come up with gameplans, the coaches do. It's their job they communicate that to where the team understands their role. If they don't, they're fired. You're not in the league as long as somebody like Russ if you have an inability to understand schemes. You know what happens when everybody is not on the same page? Dysfunction. Dysfunction usually follows up with shitty outcomes. Which is what happened. Making them a shitty team. Stats do matter because they're records of what the person did that season. If lebron went 30/8/6 to 15/4/3 the next year under the same conditions, you'd be worried. You expect AD to score 25ppg because that's what consistently showed you through his career stats.
