He's not delusional. He's lying. Innocent people don't ask for pardons. As a law professor, he very clearly understands the law, so he can't plead being ignorant of the laws that he chose to break. He made the ultimate power play to strip U.S. citizens of their right to choose our leaders, and he lost. He fully deserves every rotten thing that will happen to him.
This cannot help the reputation of Chapman law school.

The best hope for justice is disbarment in California. In the trial in Georgia, all the defendants need is one hidden MAGA juror. Or one juror who may be set for life if he saves Trumps and the others. I put my hopes in California. But I don't expect to see Eastman go to jail. I would be surprised if it happens.
What gets me is that people are still willing to vote for Trump after Trump’s gang tried to steal our democratic election in 202
None of those people should be allowed near the government and a lot of them should be placed in jail at least for couple years to prevent future scammers from doing the same thing

The Trump team even paid over $7M to a group of private investigators; they came back and said they could find no evidence to support the overturning the election theory. I can't remember the last time I watched 60 Minutes, probably as a teen in my parent's house. As I watched the segment with Eastman, it surprised me, considering current affairs, that I was still able to sense that bygone aura of integrity, dignity & importance the hosts conveyed back then while interviewing even the worst of the worst "guests" on the program. Eastman, on the other hand, gave added meaning to "unmitigated gall," "arrogance" "deception" & "fraud."

Moreover, those states held MULTIPLE recounts, just to make certain that the vote tallies were correct. No fraud sufficient to overturn the results of the election were found in ANY of those recounts.

As a practicing lawyer I can assure you that Eastman is the bottom of the barrel - the dregs of the profession. The vast majority of us do our jobs honorably and honestly, and take seriously the code of ethics that governs all attorneys (not to mention the law). Eastman is a sickening disgrace to the legal profession and should be disbarred permanently.

If almost half the voters questioned the 2016 election and almost half the voters questioned the 2020 election. Then a majority of voters question America's election process. Im going out on a limb here and say we need to examine our election process and reorganize the process to ensure it's validity for future elections. But I've thought the election process smelled funny since Theodore Roosevelt.
Electoral College is the stupidest idea still being used in the 21st century. Literally the country's fate is in the hands of 512 electors cause popular votes don't matter.

The Georgia case is about Trump and co trying to remove the Constitution, so you'd hope the accused get long Jail Sentences. But, will they?
If you are of the opinion that there are no judges and lawyers whatsoever I would remind you of the three-judge 11th Circuit panel (two of whom were Trump appointees) that hammered Judge Aileen Cannon and Trump this past summer. While many times appealing, generalizations, especially the negative ones, are seldom useful.

Eastman was right and Pence knew it. If Pence sent back the electoral votes to the swing states with the disastrous compromised elections, it would have only been a last attempt and opportunity for those states to review all the election irregularities and come up with better excuses, but they were so corrupt, it wouldn't have been fixable.

He's right about this, and it's really sad. What he isn't right about, however, is everything he says after this. The Democratic Party is not criminalizing political opposition, and they aren't threatening to shut down speech of opposing political views. This guy is a perfect example of the Republican Party's persecution complex, and method of projecting their own faults onto the opposing side.
The Democratic Party, for all of their own faults (of which there are certainly many) is attempting to protect the Constitution and maintain the ideals this country was founded in. Republicans are free to _"NUH-UH"_ until they're blue in the face, but that is the reality of it.
On the other hand, the Republican Party is openly and unapologetically attempting to dismantle the Constitution and democracy. They make no effort to hide that fact, they just attempt to justify it by claiming they're being persecuted or that their freedoms are being infringed upon, neither of which are true.
Bottom line, the existential threat to our country and our democracy is today's Republican Party. They are no longer a party with any sense of dignity or respect for constitutional norms. They've abandoned those ideals in favor of the drive for absolute power, and to turn the United States into a Christian theocracy. They've quite simply become a cult, with no room for individuality or opposing views, and that just isn't acceptable.

Here they are "Eastman is facing nine charges in Georgia: two counts of conspiracy to commit forgery in the first degree; two counts of conspiring to commit false statements and writings; one count of violating the Georgia RICO Act; one count of solicitation of violation of oath by public officer; one count of conspiring to impersonate a public officer; one count of conspiring to file false documents; and one count of filing false documents."
The odds of him beating half of these charges are worse than a snowball's chance in hell.

Eastman was not delusional. He was responsible for a concise conspiracy to overturn the election. The court is not shutting down speech. They are trying to protect people involved in the court system from threats and intimidation from Trump and his followers. All the states finished all their investigative work before certifying the states. GA had three hand recounts and so did AZ. WI and other states. They created the illusion of lies and inuendo that the election was stolen BECAUSE THEY LOST.
