When they're talking about the recruitment shortfalls there's a lot of veterans, like myself, who got out in the past 20 years and when you're asked about your service you give an honest answer. No one wants to join when they fail to take care of you, treat you with dignity and they need to look in the mirror and make cultural changes from the top down. They have no one to blame but themselves.

It is also caused by the total disrespect from the present GOP politicians. And when you look at Camp LeJeune, it is hard to be comfortable with even stateside living facilities. The GOP do not care about the live's of military families. I honestly don't think most men and women are designed to be away for their families for 10-12 years. That toll is too big. We did not want a draft. So those who do no service never even notice that we have been at war for thirty years. And now we have a cult of rule breakers and entitled people mixed in with people who love crazy consiracy theories that have been fed by fox and such. Of course , the same could be about the police. Some people do sacrifice for their country either as a fire fighter , soldier or police officer. Now even doctors and teachers are being disrespected by the GOP, so we have the GOP has totally gone off the rails.

Most military in democratic countries don't do that, but swear on their country, their constitution, or the people. It's mind boggling that even such high ranked person being highly educated do have such distorted or non-existent knowledge of other countries, even their direct allies. The US education system is a big failure and is rather some kind of pro-US-propaganda than informing about historical and actual facts. JOHN MCCAIN from the great state of Arizona was a WAR HERO because he refused to leave his fellow POWs behind!!! I am not a sucker and loser, and I will not let anyone dishonor the service of those who did not survive military service! I believe General Kelly! I am a proud retired Army veteran! The former president is guilty of "conduct unbecoming" and he "failed to fulfill his oath and obligations under the constitution". He is lucky the UCMJ does not apply to him. I will support VICE PRESIDENT HARRIS and encourage my fellow veterans to get involved! I hope my fellow veterans remember the oath we swore too, it stays with us our entire lives...it is who we are, there is no expiration on our oath...it is one of the reasons we call each other "brothers and sisters" along with our shared experiences. I hope you all realize there is one true choice in 2024, support the Vice President. If Adam Kinzinger (R-IL) or Liz Cheney (R-WY) decides to run, then I might rethink my voting choice.

What would hold me back from joining is we’re not in any large scale wars right now, so it doesn’t feel apparent to me that I need to join, especially when i have more control over pay, location, and hours at home. General Milley is typical of every American Chief of the Joint Chiefs of Staff all the way back to the origin of the U.S. JCS in 1942. Thank God for these military and naval leaders the United States has had! (As for the U.S. getting into WWII in the manner in which we did, the U.S. was led by the greatest of all our Presidents, in my opinion. Fleet Admiral William D. Leahy, General of the Army George C. Marshall, Fleet Admiral Ernest J. King, and General of the Army Air Forces Henry H. Arnold, were all truly top-notch military professionals. These men and President Franklin D. Roosevelt served not only the United States, but all of humanity extremely well in World War II. We had a Grand Alliance with you British, the former Soviet Union and China among other allies.) I remember going through NCO school in the Army, and during a lesson on the military's role in the political process, our instructor told us that the US Military is strictly apolitical and impartial to the political process, nonetheless; he also said the US military is the steward of the Constitution and democracy. Although we swore allegiance to the President, our true mandate was to protect and defend the US Constitution and its democratic values. When we asked him to clarify what he meant by "the US Military is the steward of the Constitution and democracy," he paused, thought for a second, and then said, "Let me put it this way: although the US Military has no say in the political process of the country, when we raised our right hand, we swore to protect and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, both foreign and domestic, and as leaders, we have to be ready to do what we have to, to uphold that oath"... we all looked at each other knowing fully well what he meant. I turned over $1m in the past 4 years despite the rough turns, guess how much capital was invested? 150k or less. I am fortunate to work with Loren as I was part of the Gamestop Saga under her guidance.

Milley is a peice of work. We hire people like him to watch for threats against the nation. Now he says that four years ago he worked for a fascist down the hall and never said a word.

I noticed in the interview, Norah O'Donnell called Biden, Mr. Biden, and consistently called Trump, President Trump...??? FYI, Ms. O'Donnell, Trump officially left office on January 6, 2021 when the House voted to accept the election results. May I add a Thank God for that. And General Milley is a true patriot!

Biden has earned the respectful title of “Mister”. Trump, on the other hand, deserves a disgraceful title associated with politicians.
