  • Live Concert performance as part of the series Early Music at the Byron Colby Barn in Grayslake IL. The pieces by Vieux Gautier, selected from three different original sources are:
    Tombeau de Mezangeau
    Testament de Mezangeau (Gigue)
    Courante
    Sarabande
    Carillon (Gigue)
    Canaries
    Nigel North is playing an 11-course lute tuned in d-minor, an instrument built by Lars Jonsson in 2005, after Hans Frei.

    Is it just me or the Canaries (10:28) sound a little jazzy? Great performance !

      João Gabriel Carvalho The harmonic structures strikes a stunning resemblance to both Autumn Leaves and All the things you are due to the II-V-I-progressions. Sounds great!
