It won't kill. But it will devalue artist work… at least that's what I think… Because sometimes the public are too ignorant of how hard artistic profession is.
No matter how you look at it, or how you feel about it, we are at a crossroads, and we have been presented with an ultimatum: either embrace the change, use it, add it to your workflow, make it a strength instead of a weakness, or deny it, don't acknowledge it, and fall into obsolescence.
Yeah. My only problem with the “just use it as a tool” argument is it doesn’t solve the core of the problem. How long can we cling to that? We also have to ask ourselves; how much are we willing to change and automate before we no longer love what we do? Also, I think it is useful in many ways to use as a tool, but I don’t think that means full time artists and their jobs are safe. Maybe they will be when we realize how much more we can create using AI. It’s a long conversation obviously so I can’t mention everything haha. Thanks for sharing your thoughts and the sub!
No it wont replace, it will enhance, because it is another tool for the creative. Mind you, I can see laws coming in to stop a lot of blatant copyright abuse. And when I see AI give me an image and the signature of the original artist is still on the image, I cringe.
I’m glad someone else cringes at that too. It’s really pathetic in my opinion when someone makes no edits to a 100% AI generated image and takes full credit for it. Especially when they don’t even specify it was made by AI and people in the comments praise “their” work.
with hyper real robotics, AI art, writing, and the leagues of Chat bots already infiltrating the web- yes there will be a time when AI does replace us - in all aspects.
At that point, we will have to find a solution or live miserable lives. If no one has a purpose and AI isn't serving to better our quality of life, it'll likely be the largest human rights revolution in our history. Are we just going to sit around and do nothing all our lives as we suffer? Or will we demand/choose better?
