If you are going to share a recipe, I would suggest that you give measurements (for the rice) and the temperature you are cooking your meal at.

Try adding Milk instead of water. It will make it more creamer. That's the way I make it and I love it. This is one of my favorite dishes.

WoW! You all are a tough crowd, LOL I'm sure most of us know about cross-contamination when cooking. Give the lady a break!
I fixed this but with a few adjustments to fit my needs:
    Preheat oven at 350 degrees
    1 1/2 cups 5 minute rice
1 can of cream of mushroom soup
    1 cup water
I sprayed my 8 x 8 inch glass pan with cooking spray
put the rice on the bottom
placed two seasoned pork chops on top
mixed soup and 1 can of water together, poured on top
    add extra water
Placed on middle rack of oven, baked for 45 minutes (check at 30 minutes just to see LOL)
Served with steamed broccoli with a few table spoons of mayo
    Glass of wine (optional LOL)
Waaa laaa! You have a wonderful cooked meal in 45 minutes! DELISH! I love fast and easy meals! :)

Howdy! I wanted to tell you I prepared this meal just as you did. I made a couple of assumptions: 350 degrees pre-heated oven and salt and pepper on the chops. Other than that, I did just what you did and it turned out, great! I wanted to thank you for an easy to follow video for an easily prepared meal. I also wanted to say, I hope you make more of these down-home, easy meals and record the video. I want MORE, please! I've just subscribed and rang the bell so I will know when your next one pops up. I think you probably learned a thing or two from the comments, most of which weren't too kind. C'mon, you can do it! :)
    Phil

lol, a cup and a half of water. That was like six cups to any newbies those big measuring cups are normally 4 cups for the big size she was using. I'm making this tinight but I have to add some seasoning to it. That just seems it would be very bland. thanks for the idea though

U dont cook your meat 1st?

    • @102938mom
      @102938mom 5 лет назад

I usually don't cook the meat first depending on how thick the cut of meat is and what type of meat I'm cooking. It cooks in the rice. However I use spices on my pork first. I cover mine in salt, pepper, garlic powder, cajun seasonings (not much because my young children can't handle spicy food yet), peprika and sometimes a bit of cumin if I'm making a more "mexican" type dish. I also use broth instead of water for more flavor. I also add the same seasonings to the rice and instead of cream of muscroom soup, I use cream of chicken since my family doesn't like cream of mushroom soup. If I want a good sear on the meat I'll toss it in a frying pan first (you can even add breading to the porkchops first) but I don't cook the meat all the way through. I worry about overcooking and ending up with dried out pork so if you sear it first, do it just long enough to get that sear on it. I'm not a professional though. Just a stay at home mom that's been feeding my family of hungry guys for over a decade so I always eyeball everything. I never use a timer or measurements unless I have to for certain recipes (like breads, cake, muffins).

Should always season and sear the meat on all sides before cooking it with the rice. It will always taste better and be juicier if you do

Do you always rub your hands on your clothes after you get done touching raw meat? Also I would wear shoes, just in case you spill hot food on your feet.
