Impressive Nanolongrange design. Seeing used only ~500mAh to travel out 900m before turning around at 8:50. This suggests can travel 6-8 km on a flight. The constraint being video (antenna limitations)
@@Unboxingexperience7how could one exceed these limitations of video? I’ve been looking at the DJI O3 but it might be too heavy for this. What else could be done to get video at a good distance / with interrupting factors like trees and houses?
Very nice! How is the ABS+ in terms of warping and strength? I considered buying it for my Cr 10 which doesnt have an enclosure, as they say that it warps less, but wasnt sure as they are basically no reviews on it.
ABS+ is superior to PLA+ and PLA. The latter warp after printing in sunlight and heat. ABS+ is warping during printing. I had no luck without enclosure so I used a blanket.
Really liked the video. What was the total cost of making your drone? Wondering if it would work for search and rescue ? I do Volunteer work . Have a 3-D printer. Any other information you can provide would greatly help. Thanks
you'll find more info on thingiverse and instructables. this is a tiny lightweight drone which requires specific skills like 3d printing, soldering and software adapting. flying it needs some hours of practice. you're probably better off with a dji drone working straight out of the box.
Hello Unboxing experience your name should be Experienced Builder!! with that out of the way just a question. Is the casing on the HD zero flight unit just for protection or is it also a Ihs? (heat shield)?
Do you have any issues with heat? having the fc/esc and the hdzero board close together without the heatsinks seems like that would get hot. On the other hand you dont have much blocking windflow so might be fine?
1303.5 with high kv around 11000 are perfect. The Hq biblades are drawing too much amps (>18A) and this setup was struggling. They might work on an ultralight carbon frame version. I guess a 3516 biblade would work fine.
Hey, great job. Thank you for doing this. Is this version superior over the Nanolongrange_v2, or just different? If so, what are the poros/cons between the two?
V2 is lightweight and more compact. NLR35 is slightly bigger and beefier and, thus heavier. My top 3 pros for NLR35 are: Magnetic connectors are great, you don't need to weld/solder Liion batteries. GPS locks very fast due to different type and mount. Flexibility: props up/down, props up to 3.5", battery on top/bottom, FC top or bottom
It's in the thingiverse/printables deposit. 3d printed caps for 5x2mm magnets which push Nickel strips to the battery terminals. It's something I ve designed and tested.
I thought so too, but ruclips.net/video/YjXqnzw4gqo/видео.html New Molicel 21700s have even more power and capacity over the tested Samsung 40T. 21700 is the way to go.
Truly amazing Bro. What motor kv did you use? Thanks. Might build too. In the hdzero build, did you have spare uart for the gps but intentionally not put?
11500kv. no there was no spare uart for gps... newer boards have spi elrs so you have 2 spare uarts. then gps will work too. I ll do an update with a fancy carbon version with gps hdzero/walksnail. so stay tuned!
Hey men awesome video! Can I contact you for a scholar project for our students to involve them in electronics and drones? If we can get at least a little help will be great !
this is exactly the type of build I've been hoping for idk why all the nano long range stuff is 18650 instead of 21700
just need that wokesnail whoop vtx to drop and I'll be in business
seems it will be heavy though - 1s 75mm whoop is at 39g. I suspect the VTX-camera-antenna set to be twice as heavy as HDZero at around 14g.

yes, it is highly efficient. I get on my digital version +10km distance but 2.1km range

Is this Donauinsel in Vienna? Is flying there allowed?
Hello Unboxing experience your name should be Experienced Builder!! with that out of the way just a question. Is the casing on the HD zero flight unit just for protection or is it also a Ihs? (heat shield)?
it primarily protects from physical damage
Do you have any issues with heat? having the fc/esc and the hdzero board close together without the heatsinks seems like that would get hot. On the other hand you dont have much blocking windflow so might be fine?
No problems so far except a broken cam without a crash. But I never used it in hot weather.
Very cool. I have a 2in quad I'd like to start doing micro LR with.
Go for it!
Is it too much to use 1303.5 motors on single 21700?
Have you tested 3.5" biblade props (T3.5x2.2x2 HQprops)?

I was looking at the thingiverse page and saw that it was printed at 20% infill, why not higher? Too much weight?
yes.20% seems to be a good compromise between weight and robustness.
Needs a 2s version.
Do you have a 4 inch frame?
No and this one allows up to 3.5". To me, 3d printing only makes sense on smaller frames due to additional weight.

yes, only the gps mount is for the smaller and lighter namelessrc tiny gps
