Man...I wish they would make an official game from this era... actual trenches, barbed wire, artillery craters, better animations, fortresses,maybe an “over the top mechanic”, etc
The Total War Franchise Publishers/Developers care more about fantasy and bullshit than real and fun games.

@@el_gabron Fantasy games are more fun imo, more replay-ability as well as diversity in enemies, troop choices etc. You can't just call them 'bullshit' because you don't personally enjoy them :)
There have to be one for victorian era and another one for the Great War. I would like to play as the prussians at Sedan and as the Germans at Tannenberg
I know this mod crashes all the time, I saw the stream lol, but I really find it interesting how the mod changes how people play the game. Artillery with practically infinite range and rapid firing infantry create a game where entire units can be wiped out in an instant if caught in the wrong position. The much longer ranges for engagements makes the terrain even more important than in the vanilla game. If there ever was an official ww1 total war game, with maps built from the ground up with this kind of gameplay in mind, that would be epic. The battles could be much longer too, with both armies able to build trenches, and pull in new units from off the map as reinforcements, so that a natural trenchline and stalemate could occur. If the battle timed out and became a draw, those two armies would stay in their position. If either side wished to attack on the world map, possibly after spending a couple turns bringing in reinforcements, it'd zoom down to the exact same battlefield with all the trenches and old bodies from the previous battle.

In all fairness the crashes don't seem to be as often as they were previously (heck they barely appear in lord john's campaigns).
Imo it would be better for gameplay if they focused on the opening weeks of the war with maneuvers and flanking movements. The later parts of the war with trenches would be hard to replicate for the engine and not as interesting. Cavalry units should be basically mounted infantry rapidly moving to favorable terrain, dismounting and pouring fire on to the enemy.
They should also add more terrain features that troops could use for cover. Perhaps doing a game starting in 1870 when armies started adopting breechloaders on a large scale and ending in 1914.
Do i have to buy the game from steam first? Or i can run the mod even from a pirating?
If the Maxim mg is fixed by good hands, it can it targets accurately at range up to 3km.

I have never seen such a amazing charge in this game and mod. Bravo Apollo this was amazing. Also I was wondering I think it would be pretty cool if they could make a battle for Moscow map

@@BbbBnb-kg3ci No works on pirated as well, i have pirated copies alongside steam one for running multiple mods simultaneously and works on them, the most important step is to place the user.script.txt in %appdata%\The Creative Assembly\Napoleon\scripts folder, let me know if you run into any problem while installing

I couldn't wait for a new ww1 battle
This is actually rather accurate to the actual Battle of Tannenburg, which was fought out in the open instead of in trenches. This was because the combatant armies really didn't understand how best to utilize the latest weapons technology. Bolt-action rifles, machine guns, and modern long-range artillery were recent innovations at the time, and nobody but the Germans had yet field tested that new weapons tech.
Hence, both sides sent horse-mounted cavalry riders armed with lances and swords into battle. Both sides attempted to fight classic line battles with troops trading fire whilst advancing. Thus, the death toll was astounding and the commanders were really confused.
Talk about attention to detail... Pause the game and look at the artillery shells, bullets, and grenades, THEY ALL HAVE NEW MODELS! There's even a difference between mortars, light guns, and heavy guns in terms of their shell models. They even updated models that nobody will ever really see. That's commitment.

I'd love it if they'd add Red and White armies as seperated forces. Or even just Red army and have Russia as a seperated faction.

I've done some experiments in my Ottoman Campaign and I've managed to minimize losses on advancing infantry from mortars, light and heavy howitzers. March your men slowly until you hear the volley. Then tell the infantry to double time until the rounds impact. Then switch back to marching and repeat. I've noticed if you run until the second salvo and then march theres a small chance the rounds will under shoot but still some may find their mark and kill some men.

are you gonna do a co-op campaign with Jackie Fish for this mod? would be great :D and also if you optimise the settings in the script files it runs a lot smoother and has less crashes. Also change the sound channels to 64 if you haven't, the settings mess up for me in the menu so I usually do it at the start of deployment every time in game and never have crashes but that's for NTW3 but that's what they advise. They also say to lower graphics for multiplayer (not replays) to reduce lag too as it runs a lot smoother. Id check out the optimisation in the lordz discord and read through that if you haven't too since it'd probably help with the crashes, since I done all of the above i never crash but it could be different since its a different mod but just some advise which might help. If i remember correctly this was the battlefield when the Dead Men attacks, it was so scary than the germans who tryng to assault surrender and flee from the battle after few shots by the both parts.

Player of the Austro-Hungarians here. I loved my fight against Apollo it was an honor. To answer the question of why I just charged. Apollo was right, the maps pathfinding just made me say "f*ck it" and I just charged with bayonets XD

i tried to deal with this mod it looks soo cool i just couldn't get it to work they need to make a empire total war 2 and have the great war be a dlc that would make a killing that and a total war warhammer 40k game those would be the most natural way for the franchise to go but are they probably not going to be that smart lmao
