"That one they made before on that other thing" is easily my favourite quote from all of the Friday Features! Although it takes influence from the dark side, I am looking forward to Yooka-Laylee. Great video Access Team! :)
2:15 Yeah you just have two pistols, two shotguns, a flame thrower, grenade launcher, magnum, assault rifle, remote mines and the ability to instantly heal grievous wounds with medical items made from anonymous herbs found around the place. Yep just a regular guy :3
Hailstormand Doens't Ethan talk to someone at the start of the game in his car and that guy seem to know about the situattion well, who is he acttually?
Funny thing, this 'regular guy' is more competent with a firearm than any of those mountainous 'elite forces' from the previous games. "Hey, look, he can _actually_ point the gun in the general direction of an enemy in less than _five years!_ "
Was thinking the same thing. I never got why companies care so much anyway, it's not like I'm going to stop playing PlayStation the moment I hear about another console's games.
garner montgomery I was thinking the same thing. That's one reason why I love watching the Outside XBox team's videos, they couldn't care less what consoles they speak about when talking about various games, they've even outright spoke about PS exclusives before and how good they are.
BrotchMrToast No it's not owned by them so they'll be allowed to say anything they want, but obviously they're all about XBox but just don't care if they speak about other consoles. With PlayStation Access, they're not owned by Sony, they just get paid by them (or so I've read anyway), they're a part of the Yogscast network so are technically owned by them. So I'm guessing there's some contract by Sony stating they can't mention certain things but I find it strange how like it's been said by Garner Montgomery and a few other commenters they can mention Legend of Zelda but then don't name Banjo-Kazooie or the N64.
I have never heard of Nino Kuni until I came across this channel. I bought it and OMG I love this game! Thanks Rob you are a reason to look forward to Friday's
A game my mom stopped me from playing? Golden Eye on the N64. Friend took off the holographic sticker thing from Majora's Mask to put over the Golden Eye sticker to try and hide it, but my mom came into the basement and found us playing it. Freaked out, even though we were playing with paintball mode on cause we all liked the rainbows. Ah well, at least she didnt' find it until we'd basically played it to death. Gave us a nice break until we just started sneaking it again, lol.
Great video as always. But _Resident Evil VII_ isn't the series first foray into first person territory. That was _Resident Evil: Survivor_ back on the PS1. Granted, it wasn't the best in the series but still: Credit where credit is due, I guess 😉
Hyper Light Drifter was such an amazing game. The visuals, the soundtrack, the combat, the story.. just breathtaking altogether. If you haven't played it - DO SO NOW
I'm so happy you mentioned Grandia! I haven't played the first game but Grandia II (while the ending was not good) is still one of my favorite games. The soundtrack, the character development, the storyline...UGH. I love it! So underrated.
Wow! Two Nintendo references in a Playstation Access video! One of my favorite things in these kinds of videos is watching them try not to mention other consoles and failing miserably in the end:D
Robs Friday features are the best part of my Friday when I get home from work! Video on, cheeky drink, comfy sofa - reminiscing about excellent games - always makes me smile - long live Friday features! :D (Also the reason I ended up buying my PS4 last summer - best decision ever!)
so cool at 6:20 what you're saying and street fighter is actually the very first video game I recall playing. I was probably 4 and it was on my dad's NES :)
Ni No Kuni's Taking to the Skies is one of the single greatest pieces of music ever. You blow your trumpet, Tengril picks you up and musical masterpiece is just engulfs all the space around you. The epicness of the theme then calms allowing you to appreciate the world as you fly around, and then BANG! The epicness starts again. The music is by biggest takeaway from Ni No Kuni. Level 5 did an amazing job on the game as they usually do, Ghibili did what only Ghibili can do and draw you into a beautiful world and amazing story, but that soundtrack just blew all that away.
Sadly, my mom never banned any type of game, because my dad was a hardcore gamer, winner of several national Starcraft(the first one) competition. And their idea of going on a date is my mom watching horror movie while my father plays Doom2 and occasionally explaining the plot to my mom who has been covering her face for a 5 minutes
Good episode I sit and watch and wonder how many takes you have to do before you get it right because your videos are awesome I especially liked this one
Mr. Futago Good and in no way a Time Crisis rip-off..their whole shtick was the cover mechanic that Resi Chronicles never had, a first-person view does not a Time Crisis rip-off make.
Every time I see footage of the new Doom, it takes me right back to playing the original. Which I didn't have to hide. It and Wolfenstien were the only shoot 'em ups I had for the Apple but I was happy. I was still playing Doom into the 2000s on a lap top.
My parents were always good about giving me alternative games rather than just saying no but there was always one game series that they never would let me play. GTA. It wasn't until my friend tricked his grandma into buying it that I finally got my hands on it. I was a teenager and I still had never felt like such a daring and naughty little boy as I did that day, bashing people with baseball bats and stealing their cars. Good times.
Ok, for a second there I thought Rob was making a reference to "Hamilton"...then I realized he's from England and this is a video game channel... I may have listened to it one too many times at this point, but I LOVE IT!
Hey, Rob... was that game your dad didn't let you play, Defender? I miss the old arcades - the dim lights, the scratchy rock n rock barely heard under the cacophony of bleeps and bloops and ear-bleeding synth-voices. The only game where I was 'That Kid' was Heavy Barrel... could finish it on a quarter XD
Wait a minute...... in a previous video (8 Classic Games That Instantly Take Us Back To Our Childhood), Rob said he hid Doom in the box for Overboard. But in this one, he said he hid it in the box for Grand Turismo. Very suspicious.
JRPGs are life. Final Fantasy IV on the PSOne took my early High-school life.. Together with Tactical Espionage games.. Syphon Filter. Next video surely must be 7 best Tactical Espionage games that rivaled MGS.
The way i see it, they can't mention Banjo as that's made by Rare. Whom are owned by Microsoft, whom are direct competition to PlayStation. Where-as Zelda can be mentioned, as it's Nintendo. Whom are in a world of their own and don't go for competition. They know they are the 2nd console you own.
Dark Zhade The PS3 version is in essence a port of the 3DS version. So you can find it on the 3DS, you may struggle to find a legal translated copy though
Eric Nick lol agreed bought the Witcher 3 to see what all the fuzz is about since I like rpg and adventure games but man that game burned me so bad I just couldn't put my self to play through half of the game.
You know that kid that just shows up and beats it on the first try? That's me with Hotline Miami 2. I got S on every level... on HARD mode. *maniacal laughter*
I know right! RE7 is closer to being the 4th first person Resident Evil game, and if you include the 1st person on rails games its closer to being the 7th first person RE! First person is not a departure for the series, if you include all the games, it's closer to being the norm.
Krontok - The remake is still in the works. Will be available for PS4 next year or the year after. And Travelers Tales screwed up Crash Bandicoot. Not Microsoft. ;)
Well Twinsanity was a pretty good game regardless of its cheesy humor. In fact it's considered many people's most favorite non-Naughty Dog Crash game. Crash of the Titans is what most notably killed the franchise.
To be fair, the N Sane Trilogy is a remake (or Remaster Plus or whatever they want to call it) so that probably doesn't count. Also, it's not released yet.
just playing through shovel knight and loving it. its everything I liked about old side scrolling games without the burden of terrible controls or unpolished movement. I did something I haven't done in a while, had to put the game down and finish a boss later after failing 16 times, and then come back 3 hours later and do it first try
That space ship game that you can't remember, was it called Einhander? I remember that game being a really cool space ship shoot'em up for ps1. In fact it was made by equinox.
I remember my first Arcade experience. It was at a convenience store down the street. Ninja Turtles I: The Arcade Game. My mom was with me and let me have a go at it. I picked Michelangelo. That was before I realized Donatello was my favourite to play as in the Nintendo version.
Which cloud action figure is that in the background on your shelf??? please let me know that looks like a 1:12 scale/6 -7 inch figure and its perfect!!!
Now I am curious as to how far you played into Resident Evil 7? By the end of the game, I had a literal arsenal with 2 pistols, 2 shot guns, a flame thrower, grenade launcher, remote mines, assault rifle, and a magnum. That's a pretty impressive selection of weapons for an "every man" and actually had next to nothing to fear by the baddies by the end. While in Ni No Kuni, I thought it was more of a real time combat system, not turn based. Still quite an amazing game and one of the few amazing RPGS of the 7th gen.
Bryan Nieves Haha i was randomly scrolling through the comments when i saw urs and it instantly took me back to the days when i used to grind metal slug😀 loved it it was the first game i played too
Hello Rob! How about a list of puzzles that are frustratingly brilliant? ...because I am highly impressed by the puzzles in Pitioss Ruins in Final Fantasy XV, even though my mental state got reduced to bits halfway through, and I completely broke down in the second half.
The only game I've ever played against my parents' orders was GTA Liberty City Stories. I must've been like 8 at the time and my cousin accidentally forgot it at my house after visiting. (He was only 13 but his parents were okay with him playing it) So of course after always being forced to watch him play due to the fact that I wasn't allowed to play games with guns yet, I seized the opportunity! Lol. I played it every day for a week with the volume nearly muted until the following weekend when he came back to get it. I didn't get my first GTA game for another 4 years. It was San Andreas and to this day it's still my favorite.
Sen's Fortress in Dark Souls 1, a bridge with enemies on it and swinging death traps that you have to time your runs to beat? What could be more old school for someone who grew up on 8 and 16 bit platformers?
old as you Rob? I'm 40 & still love my ps4. I bet you aren't old enough to remember camando on the commodore 64? or harrier attack that's old school lol.
5:24 The moment you brought up Yooka Laylee I was wondering whether and how you'd bring up Banjo Kazooie. GG Rob, please never change :D
These '7 games that' videos always make my hungover Saturday mornings that little bit brighter. Thanks Rob.
Well, your wife is working with an evil corporation and gone missing. I don't think your any regular guy, maybe Ethan is an Umbrella ex-employee.
Tweetug 36 or maybe he was the one who started whatever Agency that fights bioterrorism BSAA was it?
Hailstormand Doens't Ethan talk to someone at the start of the game in his car and that guy seem to know about the situattion well, who is he acttually?
Funny thing, this 'regular guy' is more competent with a firearm than any of those mountainous 'elite forces' from the previous games.
"Hey, look, he can _actually_ point the gun in the general direction of an enemy in less than _five years!_ "
Soooooooo you avoid mentioning Banjo-Kazooie and the N64, but later you casually mention The Legend of Zelda? Makes total sense
Adie Stone Is outsidexbox even owned by Microsoft, like PlayStation Access is owned by Sony? I legit don't know. They don't seem to be.
BrotchMrToast No it's not owned by them so they'll be allowed to say anything they want, but obviously they're all about XBox but just don't care if they speak about other consoles.

garner montgomery I don't think mentioning Banjo Kazooie or the N64 is going to promote Nintendo in any way at this point.
I really like this episode, Rob. You seem kinda more rejuvenated and excited in this video. The charm that got me into the series is here again :)
I have never heard of Nino Kuni until I came across this channel. I bought it and OMG I love this game! Thanks Rob you are a reason to look forward to Friday's
Dave's 7 scariest games
5:20 Haha! I was wondering how you'd tackle that one.. Well played Rob.. Well played...=)
That one they made before on that other thing oh rob your hilarious
And did he say Zelda later on
Jamie Guy that was a reference for what?
banjo kazooiee
Jamie Guy man I love rob. That made me 😂 lol
*you're

I think I only beat Survivor once. I'll have to try again when I have a urge to do an re marathon.
This channel is actually amazing. Rob's videos are one of my favorite videos ever. Love that british humor. Thanks for the free entertainment. :)
Hyper Light Drifter was such an amazing game. The visuals, the soundtrack, the combat, the story.. just breathtaking altogether. If you haven't played it - DO SO NOW

Commenting for the sake of having a comment.
Anton Noonan Same comment
Sounds about right
first
Anton Noonan Replying for the sake of replying
Havuhk Replying for the sake of it to your reply
so cool at 6:20 what you're saying and street fighter is actually the very first video game I recall playing. I was probably 4 and it was on my dad's NES :)
I feel like you can do a good emperor palpatine impression
5:20 Ok, are you guys legit not allowed to mention any other consoles or was this just the joke
a joke they dueled ox
epicanime009 they mentioned Zelda
When he was talking about Hyper light drifter
Nasser Harbi He was quoting the developer.
Porter Ewing fair enough.
Big props for making Hotline Miami the top pick, one of my absolute favorite games of the last ten years, so much so I got Platinum for it twice. :3
Yay, I'm early to the party for the first time ever! Love these videos, Rob! They're always the highlight of my Friday. :)
Ni No Kuni's Taking to the Skies is one of the single greatest pieces of music ever. You blow your trumpet, Tengril picks you up and musical masterpiece is just engulfs all the space around you. Rob finally acknowledged the existence of Zelda! Tis a momentous day! :D
Thanks rob, i really love these videos! Even with a slipped disk you manage to brighten up my day!
5:20 See at this point I would have used Croc! Seriously look up Croc 2, it's Banjo but with a different character and less useless collectibles!
Good episode I sit and watch and wonder how many takes you have to do before you get it right because your videos are awesome I especially liked this one
I see what you did there rob 2:08 "molded" great pun about the molded in resi 7
RE7 wasn't the first time Resident Evil tried first person. In the main series it's a first but there were the Survivor games.
Mr. Futago yeah and that stupid umbrella cronicles time crisis rip off
The Chronicles games were fun though, I felt.
Mr. Futago Good and in no way a Time Crisis rip-off..their whole shtick was the cover mechanic that Resi Chronicles never had, a first-person view does not a Time Crisis rip-off make.
Wonder if it's a thing Rob couldn't mention Banjo Kazooie for some reason
Whoa did he actually reference a Nintendo game? Not Banjo-Kazooie which he skillfully sidestepped but Zelda!
First game you remember playing? For me it was Alex the kid on the master system.
1:50, I just adore that edit!
I was expecting a mgs reference soon as I read the title.
I just got my copy of Ni No Kuni. I didn't even know it was a thing before starting watching you guys. So excited to play it!
Laura Salenius
one of my favourite games ever! Enjoy =)
I 100%ed Ni No Kuni 2, until the latest DLC came out, oh well, I have the "One True King" achievement so I'm good!
oh Rob! I enjoy your videos every week.
Who else started mentally singing Hamilton when he said “How lucky we are to be alive right now”
Every time I see footage of the new Doom, it takes me right back to playing the original. Which I didn't have to hide. It and Wolfenstien were the only shoot 'em ups I had for the Apple but I was happy. I was still playing Doom into the 2000s on a lap top.
Has Rob lost some weight? He looks bloody great
Mario Deak i thought so too
Omg #301club finally, I'd just like to thank, my mum, my dad and my spine for always having my back
Baks My spine sucks.
I love your videos, Rob. So sorry but it's my bed time. Will watch this as soon as I wake up! I'm sure it's awesome. Have a good evening!
9:26 whats the music in the background?
5:23 I love how Rob and crew not so casually avoid saying anything related to Nintendo xD
Wow, Rob is so young. The discounting text based Commodore 64 cassette games... my first "video" game that I played was Pong on the Atari.
The third reminded me of banjo kazooie
"how lucky we are to be alive right now" WHERE MY FELLOW HAMILTONS AT
My parents were always good about giving me alternative games rather than just saying no but there was always one game series that they never would let me play. GTA. It wasn't until my friend tricked his grandma into buying it that I finally got my hands on it. I was a teenager and I still had never felt like such a daring and naughty little boy as I did that day, bashing people with baseball bats and stealing their cars. Good times.
Nice vid dude! You never disappoint me!!
Ok, for a second there I thought Rob was making a reference to "Hamilton"...then I realized he's from England and this is a video game channel...
I may have listened to it one too many times at this point, but I LOVE IT!
Hotline Miami 1 and 2 are some of the greatest games of all time.
Hey, Rob... was that game your dad didn't let you play, Defender? I miss the old arcades - the dim lights, the scratchy rock n rock barely heard under the cacophony of bleeps and bloops and ear-bleeding synth-voices. The only game where I was 'That Kid' was Heavy Barrel... could finish it on a quarter XD
OMG!!! Rob mentioned Zelda!!!!
Hey guys! I love your vids!
Wait a minute...... in a previous video (8 Classic Games That Instantly Take Us Back To Our Childhood), Rob said he hid Doom in the box for Overboard. But in this one, he said he hid it in the box for Grand Turismo. Very suspicious.
I really enjoy your videos #PlayStationAccess
Love you, guys
JRPGs are life. Final Fantasy IV on the PSOne took my early High-school life.. Together with Tactical Espionage games.. Syphon Filter. Next video surely must be 7 best Tactical Espionage games that rivaled MGS.
Oh my god. I'd forgotten about Syphon Filter! So good!!
have they done 7 best stealth games?
I know stealth was OP on Manhunt but that was one of the most fun games to sneak around in
I like that you mentioned hyper light drifter truly underated
You know, there's something about this video that makes me think that Rob would really like Pokemon :p
Shovel Knight, Rob. How could you forget Shovel Knight. It's literally a love letter to retro games
A great little gem that harkened back to the SNES era of RPGs for me was Radiant Historia for the DS.
I love it when you include Ni no kuni on your countdowns. This game is amazing.
Quick someone- What is the exact name of the music at the Hyper Light Drifter part? Please help!
The way i see it, they can't mention Banjo as that's made by Rare. Whom are owned by Microsoft, whom are direct competition to PlayStation. Where-as Zelda can be mentioned, as it's Nintendo. Whom are in a world of their own and don't go for competition. They know they are the 2nd console you own.
is ni no kuni only on PS3? I want to play it before number 2 comes out but I only have a PS4, PC and 3DS
Dark Zhade I wouldn't worry. It is super repetitive. Never understood the hype myself.
Dark Zhade The PS3 version is in essence a port of the 3DS version. So you can find it on the 3DS, you may struggle to find a legal translated copy though
Matthew Leavens Not as repetitive as Witcher 3.
Eric Nick lol agreed bought the Witcher 3 to see what all the fuzz is about since I like rpg and adventure games but man that game burned me so bad I just couldn't put my self to play through half of the game.
Dark Zhade I think Holly knows I mention there should be a remaster every video they mention Ni No Kuni, do it Sony!
You know that kid that just shows up and beats it on the first try? That's me with Hotline Miami 2. I got S on every level... on HARD mode. *maniacal laughter*
I'm so pleased Ni No Kuni made the list! That game was one of the greatest I've played in years.
Shoutout to old-school Tomb Raider!
when he said "our penultimate entry this week", i was like "oh cool, he's saving Shovel Knight for last".......
Streets of rage 1 thought 3
And Shinobi 3 for the Sega Genesis just my opinion.
Ah, the good ol days of having to smuggle time one the first Resident Evil because I wasn't allowed to play it.
Resident evil survivor was the first 1st person resident evil Rob, the light gun one, not resi 7. Oops.
I know right! RE7 is closer to being the 4th first person Resident Evil game, and if you include the 1st person on rails games its closer to being the 7th first person RE! First person is not a departure for the series, if you include all the games, it's closer to being the norm.
Were is crash bandicoot
Krontok - The remake is still in the works. Will be available for PS4 next year or the year after. And Travelers Tales screwed up Crash Bandicoot. Not Microsoft. ;)
Radical Entertainment
Potter13579 I gave up after finishing Crash Bandicoot: The Wrath of Cortex. Shows how much I know. lol
Well Twinsanity was a pretty good game regardless of its cheesy humor. In fact it's considered many people's most favorite non-Naughty Dog Crash game. Crash of the Titans is what most notably killed the franchise.

Yooka Laylee looks an awful lot like Banjo-Tooie. not a complaint though :)
That space ship game that you can't remember, was it called Einhander? I remember that game being a really cool space ship shoot'em up for ps1. In fact it was made by equinox.
Mentioning The Legend of Zelda was ballsy. Well done.
I remember my first Arcade experience. It was at a convenience store down the street. Ninja Turtles I: The Arcade Game. My mom was with me and let me have a go at it. I picked Michelangelo. That was before I realized Donatello was my favourite to play as in the Nintendo version.
The amount of spoilers you guys handle in each video is amazing, never warn even 1, always eat them all like the idiot i am
Which cloud action figure is that in the background on your shelf??? please let me know that looks like a 1:12 scale/6 -7 inch figure and its perfect!!!
The first minute captured my entire childhood, oh nostalgia !
Great video Rob, keep it up :)
After the 2017 innovation speech in the beginning I just realized that PS4 really needs some NetHack...
Edit: Well, Darkest Dungeon is somewhat close.
wow thx for the pillow idea !
Ni No Kuni was an absolute joy and masterpiece. I’m a 31 year old male and it hit me in the heart. I love it
Now I am curious as to how far you played into Resident Evil 7?
By the end of the game, I had a literal arsenal with 2 pistols, 2 shot guns, a flame thrower, grenade launcher, remote mines, assault rifle, and a magnum. That's a pretty impressive selection of weapons for an "every man" and actually had next to nothing to fear by the baddies by the end.
While in Ni No Kuni, I thought it was more of a real time combat system, not turn based. Still quite an amazing game and one of the few amazing RPGS of the 7th gen.
Yooka-Laylee is just like Banjo-Kazooie
I still remember the first arcade game I played :) I love metal slug
Bryan Nieves Haha i was randomly scrolling through the comments when i saw urs and it instantly took me back to the days when i used to grind metal slug😀 loved it it was the first game i played too

Another great video, Rob!
my mum took gta 3 off me when it came out but I found it and swapped discs with gta 1. she never knew ;)
Callum Uchiha she might komwnow
It's a great time to be alive because in a few days I'll be able to listen to my mp3 on a chocobo.
The only game I've ever played against my parents' orders was GTA Liberty City Stories. I must've been like 8 at the time and my cousin accidentally forgot it at my house after visiting. Sen's Fortress in Dark Souls 1, a bridge with enemies on it and swinging death traps that you have to time your runs to beat? What could be more old school for someone who grew up on 8 and 16 bit platformers?
Rob. I love your FF's but please bring back MGS in your vids.
Love your videos
old as you Rob? I'm 40 & still love my ps4. I bet you aren't old enough to remember camando on the commodore 64? or harrier attack that's old school lol.
What about Shovel Knight? A game so perfectly crafted that it`s hard to believe it wasn`t made back in the NES era!
Hey Rob don't ever try to stop this Friday Feature :)
I did NOT expect to see Hyper Light Drifter. Excellent choice, I adore that game so much.
