Damn! It's amazing seeing a unique FILTER at this point🤯 That's like coming up with a unique pencil or something lol. Those karplus sounds were incredibly cool
Wow. I could seriously listen to the patch with the Mellotron plug-in for hours! Unbelievably awesome job as usual. It’s always a good day when you post a new video. Thank you!!
All the stuff you improvise is just so good and tasty, every video is such a joy to listen to, I took the plunge this month into the eurorack world for the first time and you were a huge motivation for me to do so, I even made it a 1U rack similar to yours haha, so all in all thanks and wish you the best
Dammit! Between you and @YukiTheSynthDragon and your beautifully made contextual examples of synths and effects creating music my GAS is flaring up terrible 😂. How am I going to sneak all this stuff by my wife….she’s bound to notice the pile on my synth table in our room getting bigger. LOL.
I watched the teaser from the manufacturer and didn't really like the sounds that came out of it. But then I came here and you just made it sound so much better haha. Modular companies would be wise to try and hire you for product videos. You always make everything sound so great and musical. Love your videos
I don't own anything modular... but your vids are slowly turning me in that direction. Some of the most musical modular work on the platform. Also, there's such clarity and depth to your mix. Are you doing much in post?
Ooft! That a damn fine bit o kit and some very pleasing examples to boot. I particularly liked the “Karplus 2” one, very haunting but being haunted by Willow-The-Wisps instead of ghosts. Lovely stuff man, a new sub here for thee.
I’d say the QPAS is more of a normal filter, but with a very unique character, and the night rider is more of an oddball weird/experimental filter, so depends which vibe you’re after.
I've been working very hard at not buying an Night Rider, thank you very much! 😅 This video is not helping me one bit! Excellent music as always. Very impressive.
@@TheUnperson Absolutely! My favourite way to channel the cravings is to really try to replicate the desired functionality on other hardware. My Night Rider substitute has been the elektron analog four filters in peak response acting as a format generator. It's not as slick an interface (and don't ask me if I have a karplus substitute), but it works well! (The analog four has also kept me from buying a dual dagger. It's a real Swiss(Swedish?) army knife)
Oh yea this thing would be great for droning! You could set up 6 different stages in the sequencer and have it very slowly and smoothly morph between them with the slew control - would be interesting! It's not a typical filter tho and doesn't have a LP mode. Belgrad looks cool too!
@@TheUnperson I saw your video on the Altas, it was cool but it seemed like a more straightforward filter bank. Would you say the Night Rider is the more exotic of the two?
Does the module really have analog filters?? The resonance sounds very much like a digital circuit. You can hear this very clearly at 8:52. I had looked on the RYK website but couldn't find anything about analog circuits right away.
I actually live about 5 minutes away from the Instruo HQ and Jason kindly gave me a bunch of modules to try out so I didn't even check the price. But yea I do use it for the stereo out and the panning on every channel :)

haha so true!!! Cheers man! :)
wooooow the dark part of karplus 2 is seriously EPIC!
You’re too kind!

Thanks for the kind words! Can never have enough mellotron! :D
It sounds like something you might hear in a futuristic version of the Ocarina of Time soundtrack
That’s s great compliment!! :)

Thanks for the kind words! I hope you’re enjoying (and not regretting) jumping into the eurorack world! Lol
Half way through the video, Module ordered. Can't wait to get my hands on that one!
Haha nice! It’s really a lot of fun 😃
Love that flute sound and jam on Karplus 2!
Good old mellotron flute! Still the best sounding flute sample after 60 years! :D
Man, that Karplus 2 patch is beautiful! Part of it has a real Jean-Michel Jarre feel. Love it.
Thanks for the inspiring footage of the Night Rider! I just picked up a DIY kit of the NR and am looking forward to building/using it in my setup. 🤖🎉

haha sorry man! You just gotta decide whether the joy of new stuff is worth the wrath of wife lol

Thanks! I agree ~ modular companies should definitely hire me!! 😃
very interesting filter bank approach. I saw it say 2 months ago and it went into the class of modules I really want to try out. Thanks for the demo.
Yea it’s definitely pretty unique ~ cheers!
really enjoyed the basic filter patch
Lovely, lovely....Plaits is a fantastic module, add a good filter and it enters another dimension...great video.
So true ~ it’s always my go to module when demoing any effects :D thanks!
Amazing vid... didn't understand a word of it, but it was hypnotic viewing! Great work
Haha thanks Bob ~ glad you enjoyed it!
3:32 Welp. I’m sold.
Very ‘Dune’ in the last few sections. Super cool
I am a big Dune fan so I like this comment a lot :)
thanks for this review, excellent the Karplus 1 and 2
glad you enjoyed it! :)

Thank you! I try do minimal editing in post but I do EQ everything and a bit of compression normally :)
modular is amazing! don't do it!
HA!

haha thanks! Because of you I've been watching Willow The Wisps videos this afternoon - I can see why you use the word haunting lol
That final patch was killer!
I like that one too! :D
Very nice. The panning is immense 🧘
I do love a stereo module! :D
Some wonderful sounds.
glad you liked them! :)
3:35 - rad
17:10 holy f*$k amazing man. It was sounding great until then. Then it went next level.
Hahah I really like that part too ~ sounds mental!
Interesting. It's like a crossbred between Rings and Morpheus.
p.s. Yes, that preset definitely sounds like NIN 🙃
Im not familiar with Morpheus but it looks amazing!!
Allright, you have both! What do you like better -- QPAS or Night Rider? Cause I have space for either / or, but not both!
Hahah sorry man! It’s good practice to test one’s willpower occasionally:D

Great vid. Was torn between Belgrad and this for my small system. I mainly looking for filter for droning. Does this drone do you think?

is the resonance knob global or can you adjust for each individual filter?
The resonance is a global control. I think it's just the frequency, panning, and volume for each filter that can be adjusted :)

it’s a 100% digital module :)
@@TheUnperson It is a very good demo.
thank you :) @@randydarklight
Need.
Hey man i see you using carn quite a bit. Is it worth the price? Are you mainly using it because of the stereo output or?

@@TheUnperson oh nice! Im trying to decide on stereo vca and that was one on my radar although the cost of it is pretty high compared to others.
