There's a couple of things going on here. The Amstrad was always a less-commercial platform, and by 1991 I'd imagine companies didn't want to waste any more money developing for it than they absolutely had to. Secondly, C64's hardware lends itself to platformers and shooters - it's no surprise to see Hudson Hawk and Turrican outdoing the Amstrad in comparison. Driving games and 3d were C64's Achilles heel due to the low CPU speed and anachronistic display modes.
Apart from a more vibrant colour pallette the Amstrad hasn't got anything going for it. The sound is dreadful and the scrolling is like a slide show its so slow.
All hail the C64 master race 😅. It depends on the individual game. Some are better on C64, some CPC, some ZX Spectrum. Thousands of games on each system to enjoy with their own strengths and weaknesses
Depressing thing is (for amstrad owners) is when you look circa 84/85 developers made a real effort with the cpc to use the hardware, but as time when on whilst developers got more and more out of the c64, amstrad seemingly got worse and worse and it was what they could get away with as the bare minimum.
Most look better on the Amstrad, but most play better on the C64. The French and Spanish coders had largely moved on to the 16-bits, isometric 3D was dead, and 8-bitters wanted pure arcade games, mostly scrolling - rarely the Amstrad's strength. Still - Xyphoes Fantasy, Turtles II, Smash TV, La Crypte des Maudits if you speak French - not 100% hopeless for the Amstrad.
L'Amstrad se démarque bien uniquement sur sa palette de couleur plus vive.Le C64 est bien un cran au dessus sur les autres plans, fluidité,sons, musique.
Blues Brothers C64,Extreme Amstrad CPC had better color palette,Rod-Land Amstrad CPC has more colors on the palette and has backgrounds,Turrican 2 C64,Out Run Europa C64,MegaPhoenix Amstrad CPC had more and better colors on the palette,Super Monaco GP C64 as goes fluent rather the CPC who had more colors and goes rather jerky,Hudson Hawk C64 more colors and goes fluent
I was never a fan of amstrad because of the bad attitude of alan sugar...i always feel the commodore64 was a better computer...Saying that amstrad survived a lot longer than commodore.
C64 je imel poseben čip za izris sprite-ov, CPC (in recimo Spectrum) tega nista imela, zato ima C64 ponavadi v arkadnih igrah/streljačinah lepši, bolj gladek scroll ekrana, bolj gladko premikanje sovragov in igralčeve figure.
What a crap collection of games. The only game I would spend time playing is Turrican 2 on the C64. Was 8-bit already dead. Most of the good coders had probably moved on
I’m so happy I had a c64 back in the day and not an amstrad 😂

Agreed
It looks like the programmers on CPC didn't care and just wanted to "get it over with" ASAP.
Spectrum ports.
Besides Extreme I'd give the rest of the games to the C64.
And that used the same engine they used since Savage on numerous games which were identical, with a changed sprite.
@@Edgel-in6bs Savage is way better than this
The resolution and viewing window on extreme is so tiny
@@BassGoesBoom1 Yeah, not much in common with Savage. Maybe the same sprite rutine, little else

Is there a 1984 game about a pig trying to find a way out of a "castle"?

The Amstrad stands out only on its brighter color palette. The C64 is a cut above in other areas, fluidity, sounds, music.

You should try playing rodland on the c64 v amstrad. Amstrad might have more colours, but....
Amstrad version look like slide-shows in comparison.
👍👍
vive le c64 !!

čit ker je noljši ,a je cpc đe imel svoj graf. čip za c 64 pa menda ja

Was 8-bit already dead. Most of the good coders had probably moved on
rodland, and the two racing games were excellent
There are couple of good ones. But yeah, 91 is quite late in the era of 8-bit machines
