Windshield Wiper Arm Replacement

This tutorial demonstrates windshield wiper arm replacement procedure on a 2003 Grand Prix GT. Wiper arm replacement is similar on most vehicles and identical on the following vehicles of the same generation:
Buick Century
Buick Regal
Chevy Impala
Chevy Monte Carlo
Oldsmobile Intrigue
The procedure for changing your wiper blades is also included, since changing the arm necessarily requires changing the blade. You would most likely need to do this if you tried to turn your wipers on while they were covered with snow or frozen to the windshield. This causes so much resistance that the torque from the motor strips the spline inside the wiper arm. Since the vehicle spline is steel and the arm spline is aluminum, the aluminum will always break first, saving you a costly vehicle repair.

Clean the shaft with a wire brush not a screw driver... lol
