How to replace your windshield wiper blades

- A few tips for wiper blade replacement...
Be sure to measure both of your wiper blades as some vehicles have different lengths for the driver's side and passenger's side. The replacement blades in the video are Bosch 18 inch wiper blades bought from amazon.

The vehicle in the video is a 1997 Chevy Silverado
If you are trying to remove the old wiper blade and you don't see a tab at the junction of the wiper blade and arm then try siding it down with a little force to release it. The new blade that I installed in the video does not have a tab and can only be removed via a little force.

This is the only one that clearly shows an up close visual of the parts! I’ve just watched two others which had the camera a few feet away or looking into the sun and I’m in disbelief that anyone thought they’d be helpful enough to post??!!
As others have said, this was the only video I found that made it super easy to change the wipers on my daughter’s 88 Accord. Better than the auto parts places!

Thank you for the video, i was really stuck when my wiper came of when getting the snow off my windscreen today but with your video and my sons help he got it back on, so i can drive to work tomorrow early morning if the snow lets up.
Good job on the clear and concise, short film. Ended up having to break off the old worn-out wiper, then putting on the new one. The tractor sits outside.
VERY IMPORTANT: "Ask the sales staff if the blade you wish to buy comes with an "adapter compatible with a J-hook system" (as shown in this video)!"
Not all wiper blades sold in the market include such adapter. Great video!!❤❤❤

I watched several other videos and they were not nearly as helpful as yours. They all had crappy camera work, or were dim, and often obscured exactly what they were doing with their hand. Just changed mine!

I've removed and installed a fair few wiper blades. However, our 2010 F-150 is vexing me. I depress the wiper blade's tab as shown in the video and the blade starts to slide to exit the J hook part and then it just stops and sliding the wiper blade the rest of the way out ceases. I've exercised as much force as I dare without damaging the arm. I don't know exactly what the issue is - I suppose it could have a wee bit of ice inside of some part of things jamming stuff up or maybe the sub freezing temps are playing a role. Any thoughts on how to loosen things up? (My best guesses to try next is some silicone lube and/or a hair dryer)
Generally, I find with many demonstrations of car related tasks, you rarely see the struggle to remove various parts from effects of rust, heating, expansion, distortion or other such factors because people always want to show the steps cleanly. TV video programs about mechanics always seem to be working with showroom clean vehicles that haven't seen any hard living. Then the average person goes out and tries and it turns out to be much uglier in practice.
Now, in this instance, wiper blades most of the time just come out and so problems should be rare. I just happen to have an unobvious problem removing mine.
I bought Bosch Blades. Its a Nightmare installing them. Any help?

The book in the store said the Dodge nitro takes 19-in blades. I did this and one of the blades flew off😂

I'm assuming most of the arms are the same? That looks exactly like my Pontiac Grand Am wiper arm
This has never worked in my entire life and not all wipers even use that design. They're always stuck on bc the plastic is junk.

All windshield wiper videos begin by saying that changing wipers is easy. It's not easy. It's tricky as hell.
They come with half a dozen plastic gizmos, most of which you don't need, and incomprehensible directions, with terrible illustrations.
My replacement connector was completely different from the one in this video, and different from the one I took off.
I have bosch blades and this is not how they’re removed at all. My wife had them installed without my knowledge and i cannot get them off lol on to the next video I suppose before giving up and just asking pep boys to do them. 🤦♂️
You Sr. are lost! Out of all the hundreds of comments, I believe yours is the only negative one. I have Bosch blades, this IS how they are removed. It simply works.
