3:45 - A good tip for viewers would be to *not* use the blade of a knife to scrape items off the board, you'll seriously damage the blade edge. Flip it over and use the spine of the knife.
It doesn't matter if it's a $5 knife or a $500 knife, there isn't any need to carelessly damage or blunten the blade - a quick tip like this will greatly extend the life of any blade or knife, people like that will care.
the clever cutter looks pretty good. i was pretty surprised it actually cut a cucumber that well, then was really surprised that it cut the cheddar cheese at all without sticking and getting all messed up.
I work at a Farmers market and I'm solve all you problems when fruit gits to ripe to sell we ether feed the animals or eat it. We manage to use sizers to cut a pineapple
SailorMoonGirl206, if your saying that a show, is a “gift from god” is sad. You should be saying that about my amazing jokes. That is the greatest gift
I was thinking the exact same thing. I've seen people who know how to handle a chef's knife go through veggies at insane speeds. Problem is, that would require actually learning skills.
The cutter thing was meant to take some risk away from people who shouldn't or can't use a knife safely. Again, something meant for people who have physical difficulties that's being marketed to average people due to money making.
I love the pineapple thing. Been using it for years. My only issue with it is that it doesn't have a cover. It's scary sharp and will damage things or cut you bad if you don't store it carefully. The solution is to put it inside a plastic cereal bin.
I don’t know it seem like you were having a hard time when you were cutting with the pizza cutter the as seen on TV product, just looked a lot easier regardless thanks
I think that's more so because of how terrible a pizza cutter is for cutting vegetables rather than saying the TV product was good. A real knife is just as easy as the TV product, and with a few hours practice, much safer and faster.
I’m glad you are not just reviewing the product, but also teaching people how to achieve the same result without all the wasteful crap that’s just waste of money, space, and resources.
i have been cooking my potatoes in the micro for years and not just one at a time just put potatoes in a chuck wagon circle not touching anywhere and set for 6 to 8 minutes depending on size of patato and they come out perfect every time oh and you can just set them on the microwave plate nothing else unless yer paranoid then you can lay them on a paper towel
They never said it was more likely that people have a pizza cutter over a knife. Their videos highlight alternatives to "As Seen on TV" products that many people already have, so go ahead and write that down. That being said what kind of adult doesn't have a pizza cutter, anyway?
When I bake a potato in the microwave I poke holes in it with a fork then get paper towels, about two enough to wrap the potatoes in , wrap it then put under faucet and wet squeeze excess water and put into microwave. Steams the peel keeping it nice and moist not dry out and cooks the middle with-it drying out also. If the paper towels get a little dry during cooking just dampen with water again.
Lol. There's no replacement for a good chef knife, cutting board and saute pan. I love the ideas though. I will probably buy the pineapple core tool just to plop a candle in it at my next BBQ.
One of my friend's family bought me one of those Clever Cutters for Christmas (along with other things of course) and in my mind I was kinda "meh" 'cause I know most As Seen On TV stuff is crap. However, I found out that it works very well for my tailgating setup on my truck so I don't have to carry around a set of knives for cutting things, so I'll give it props for that :D
The pineapple twist is great for older people who have a hard time gripping a knife. It was also great for those in my family who have sensitive skin and couldn't cut up the pineapple manually without gloves.
I LOVE THE CLEVER CUTTER! I have a bearded dragon and on average about 500 crickets in my house at a time and this little thing makes it soooo much easier to prepare food for all the little critter, 10/10 would recommend
The egg piercing device has been a thing in the Netherlands for years. I don't remember anyone in my family ever not having one of these. Just as standard in a Dutch kitchen as forks are. Also: the reason you mangled your eggs while peeling is because you are doing it wrong: Place egg on the table under your palm and build up pressure until it cracks then roll it back n forth a couple of times. Comes right off.
Wait a minute... was the guy who did the pineapple thing voice over the same guy who did the Domino's one topping pizza meme? If not he sure sounds like he is...
which monster microwaves bacon, you can do one of three things to make better bacon 1: fry it 2: cook it in the oven 3: grill it but never microwave it, you kill greatness
I've used 2 of the products shown, the Potato Express, depending on the size of the potato, yes it does work for the 4 minutes time. The other is the Clever Cutter for veggies, worked well and easy to clean.
For baked potatoes I found that the best method is to wrap them in plastic wrap and then punch a few holes in them. They take about as long to cook but they come out perfect as though you cooked them in an oven.
I have the chef basket, I've had it for years. But you're right, I didn't think it was all that. It didn't hold as much as I thought it would, and don't bother with using the handles for legs, they're not very stable. But, that spaghetti kind of got me started. Lol
I slowed it down to 75% speed, and it said "directly refer to zorbo, the mighty lizard god that lives in the lake behind my house." Also the captions confirmed it.
+mohammad ali While I get it, for anyone who is considering the tool, they have to consider the amount of usage. If you are going to cook enough, then it's work putting in the time to advance your knife skills. If you are not going to be cooking much, then maybe this tool is right. The core usage looks like it would be for people who cook a couple of times a month or less. If you plan to cook more than that, it's worth getting good with your knife.
The King of all Awesomeness While I completely agree, it really is an excellent tool for people with cerebral palsy (like myself). I'm definitely getting it at some point because I can hold the vegetable with the hand affected by CP and use the other to cut.

That pizza cutter was cringeworthy, if it is as sharp as it looks. It reaches way above the fingers and slides back and forth; sooner or later you're going to cut yourself bad. With a knife, not only would you cut much faster and more even slices you'd have the flat side of the blade touch your knuckles rather than the edge of the blade.
Poking an egg on the bottom isn't about making it easier to peel. It's about letting sulfur gas release from the air pocket in the egg. It's supposed to prevent that "Boiled Egg" smell when boiling them. That's what I was told anyways.
I use the basket to cook chicken when I make home made noodle soup to make it easier to get the chicken out. I love how it works. I do not keep the handles out over the top of the pot, I put them down so they are just sticking out of the water then when taking out I use a wooden spoon to lift them so I can grab them
7:07 Most microwaves (including the microwave used in the video) have a "potato" setting that uses a sensor. Usually works well, but sometimes a bit al dente
If you wrap your potato in a soaking wet paper towel before putting it in the microwave, it will help the potato retain its shape and not be wrinkly and separated from the skin when done.

boil your eggs with salt water. trust me it makes the shell slide off fast. i was a prep cook and needed to peel 50 eggs a day in under five mins.
burntrubberballs Exactly
I don't usually use salt when I cook. How much salt do you use for a 2 quart pan of eggs?
Nancy Walpole more is better than less. i just pour some in and stir.
Older eggs peel A LOT easier than brand new fresh eggs too.
Baking soda also works...
3:45 - A good tip for viewers would be to *not* use the blade of a knife to scrape items off the board, you'll seriously damage the blade edge. Flip it over and use the spine of the knife.

then was really surprised that it cut the cheddar cheese at all without sticking and getting all messed up.
Because it's american plastic cheese that can't stick it's cancer cheese
Yea, I imagine it works just as good as a KNIFE.
I can do it faster just using my chefs knive. And that knive i can resharp many times.. After a Year you can throw away the scissors

I'm probably the only one who appreciated the smiley face he made with the pineapple chunks lol
Chef Mike 😂 Kitchen Nightmares is truly a gift from God
