I don’t think public enquires will stop this from happening or that management will put patient safety before the reputation of their hospital unless they know they will face criminal charges and possible prison terms. This management team have cases to answer and not just get a slap on the wrist while keeping their huge salaries and pension payouts of tax payers money.

The disconnect between those with expertise in health care (consultants and nurses) and managers is a problem. A public health organisation should not be led by business led managers with no healthcare experience. Consultants carry a huge level of responsibility and are at the same time very vulnerable in England with a very weak position as this case shows. They can be silenced and threatened with a referral to the GMC while managers yield a lot of power and are not held accountable.

I’m guessing her fantasy crush on the married doctor was her entire reason for doing this. She texted him for advice, he was a mentor for her. An ongoing flirtation at work. She got sympathy, attention, caring, loads of positive strokes from staff for being a hero nurse trying to save babies lives, and then the tragedy of losing a baby.
Acting in her own personal tv drama series as if she was enduring an emotional roller coaster under pressure with class and grace.
I’m curious what her favorite tv show and movies are.

Yeah, quite sure that’s the best theory why some, otherwise , professional nurse ( or any woman for that matter) would deliberately kill several patients ( babies) in her care, is because she was spurned by a consultant doctor in her unit…. Yeah cause that’s a typically rational reaction to wanting attention from a bloke, eh? …….big word in this interview ALLEGEDLY!!….. it’s seems that Lucy Letby wasn’t one of your more popular members of staff in the unit, that doesn’t make her a homicidal maniac. There are at least three other Neo Natal units across England which have been put into special measures due to high mortality rates and general poor care. Let’s hope there’s not some young lass with a crush on a consultant there eh? In fact if nurses murdered their patients at the rate in which they get spurned by senior consultants, then god help us if we go into hospital. The bloody wards will empty quick enough though! ……this trial, case, stinks of corruption, cover ups and scapegoating.

For some. Some women compete with one another for male attention as if this is a reflection of their worth.

Many of the NHS managers come from medical background and clinical staff directly report to more senior clinical staff, such as Clinical Directors..etc. The Head/ Chief Nurse would probably also be informed of the concerns, given nurses in general report to another senior nurse. So were these senior staff incompetent as managers or as clinicans/ nurses? From the non-clinical side though HR would be involved to advise on employment law but the decision following a clinical complaint still sits primarily with clinical management. I know it's easy to slip into hating admin workers when one hears the word "management" but in reality many clinicians & nurses move into senior management roles and become part of the reporting line. However, it's true that sadly HR is incredibly risk-averse in the public sector and often influence a decision in favour of not doing anything in case the employee who is under investigation takes the case to tribunal. It still doesn't excuse the decision clinical managers made in this case. Nevertheless, I agree the NHS as a whole and its effectiveness should be reviewed.

Someone else , one of the hundreds of medical and non medical staff who work at the hospital, killed those babies and are using her as a front. She was convicted on highly circumstantial evidence. School friends who have known her for years say she is quiet, kind and decent and the accusations are unbelievable

@@BuzziRus Quite possibly. My guess is something happened to break up her own relationship of her chosen partner for life & thinking that she would'nt be able to have the family that is at the heart of being a woman she thought why should other people be able to ....or something like that?
