How to Grow Speckled Pea Microgreens at Home | EASY as 1 2 3

Growing sprouts or microgreens at home is really very easy. Just do it! You'll need trays, some sort of medium, and seeds. You can use coconut coir instead of soil. I hope you enjoy the video, and I hope you give growing microgreens a try!

Very cool. I will have to try this method as i have been sprouting peas in a jar and eating the whole thing seed and all. But it has been tricky to keep them healthy and rinsed/watered at the right times. This looks much easier!

Flavor vs health benefits: does a tougher, greener, bitter shoot have greater health benefits? Or do the yellow, younger, sweeter shoots

Great question! My guess...just a guess...the greener the better? Anyway...its better than potato chips, I think!

How did the sprouts grow with the paper towel ?

Good question, unfortunately those sprouts didn't grow, the paper towel dried out too quickly. If I were to do it again, I would make sure to keep the paper towel saturated continuously rather than rely on manual watering, similar to using a hydroponic method.

@@TikkiOOOI had a feeling that might happen when I saw you put the extra towel on top of the tray to blow out the light. If that made any contact with the towel in the tray below that would’ve just facilitated evaporation. (Can you tell I’ve had similar things go wrong?)

Thanks for pointing out when the greens go from tender to tough. That might explain some of the experiences I’ve had trying to grow pea shoots.
