What I love about Goranger is the old timey charm to it, it gives me 1960s Batman vibes with the action scenes. Not to mention that this laid the foundation that would eventually lead to Power Rangers and that is just another reason to love it. Thank you so much Ishinimori-san.
"Goranger" is not only the first Super Sentai series. He remembers to the fans the first Sentai series entirely aired in a new Japanese era becomes the "Goranger" of the corresponding era.
This show is the just the right amount of serious and fun. It has very dark and intense stories and scenes but it also knows that it's about 5 colorful cape baring super heroes with big helmets fighting men in spandex with big goofy masks on. Speaking of which, I just love the monster designs in this season. They're so ridiculous looking yet they play the part so seriously that it's entertaining as hell and I'm always excited to see what the next one will look like. The ranger suits are also super simple and yet so interesting and intricate at the same time, almost like they wanted to give kids easy-to-draw characters in their notebooks. And if the show has nearly 46 seasons and over 2000 episodes, it clearly did something right.
I started watching the show just recently and am up to ep 26. So far I'm really enjoying it and it's nice to learn more about the origins of the super sentai so thanks for the informative vid.

What if... the Himitsu Gorenger's lore will be expanded just like the Boom Comics' MMPR? Like what if they are many Gorenger Teams in every Eagle Branch in each country? Imagine, having new rangers exclusive only to the HIMITSU SENTAI GORENGER lore and universe, not the whole Sentai universe. Hahaha, time to watch this and make a fanfiction I guess?

I recently got into Tokusatsu series, I decided to start up with this one, I believe that this show is pretty good, some would say that sometimes is not coherent or some plot points in one episode have no meaning in the future, but I believe that Sentai is what it is, a series that can be extravagant, funny, epic and sometimes serious within his narrative. A perfect balance with full fantasy nonsense and and epic tale of evil vs good

100% I would love to do that. I still have a couple of my old laserdisc catalog books from back in the day somewhere. It would be a fun project to dig those out and document the old LD covers for these shows.
Agree. I would love to see Gorenger re-imagined for the contemporary world. My only request is to keep the original music or re-interpret it in a way that is close to the spirit and intent of the original soundtrack.
