DEANO AND I HAVE HAD SUCH FUN WHILE FILMING AT THE RC SHOWS AND CLUBS HERE IN THE UK AND HAVE MADE MANY MANY NEW FRIENDS OVER THE PAST TEN SEASONS ITS BEEN QUITE HUMBLING AT TIMES,
THE MOST HUMBLING MOMENT OF ALL CAME AT THE WILLIS WARBIRDS FIGHTER MEET BACK IN JUNE 2016 WHEN UNBEKNOWNST TO DEANO & I THE TWO TEDS - MATT HARROWVEN AND CHRIS WILLIS HAD ORGANISED A FUND ON FACE BOOK ASKING FELLOW MODELERS TO MAKE A DONATION TOWARDS UPGRADING ALL OF OUR COMPUTER EQUIPMENT AND CAMERA AS A VERY BIG THANK YOU FOR ALL THE VIDEOS WE HAVE UPLOADED OF THESE GUYS & GIRLS OVER THE PAST NINE YEARS AT THESE SHOWS !
IT WAS SO HUMBLING THAT I MIGHT HAVE CRIED SEVERAL TIMES DURING THAT AFTERNOON - LOL,
AS IF THAT WASN'T ENOUGH OF A SHOCK WHEN WE FINISHED FILMING ON THE FLIGHT LINE OF THE LMA ELVINGTON SHOW TWO WEEKS LATER DAVE & ANDY JOHNSON & KEN Mc CORMICK PRESENTED US WITH A CARD WITH MORE DONATIONS IN IT - GOBSMACKED AGAIN TO SAY THE LEAST,
WE WERE THEN GIVEN SEVERAL CASH DONATIONS FROM MORE FRIENDS AND THE TOTAL DONATION FINALLY CAME OUT AT OVER £1650 !!!!!
WITH THIS MONEY WE BOUGHT TWO NEW MONITORS AND ALSO A TOWER COMPUTER AND WILL UPGRADE THE VIDEO CAMERA SOON,
ANOTHER MILESTONE IN OUR RC HISTORY WOULD BE THAT OF DEANO BEING OFFERED A POSITION AS A DISPLAY PILOT IN THE AZAEROSPORTS DISPLAY TEAM THIS YEAR,
AND HE WAS ALSO OFFERED A SPONSORSHIP FROM GP ENGINES (GREAT POWER ENGINES),
ANOTHER MILESTONE FOR DEANO WAS THAT HE WON THE 3D FREESTYLE MASTERS AEROBATIC COMPETITION BACK IN FEBRUARY 2017 AND AGAIN IN MARCH 2018.
AGAIN MANY MANY THANKS TO YOU ALL (TO MANY TO NAME) FOR YOUR SUPPORT AND GENEROSITY OVER THE YEARS AND WE LOOK FORWARD TO THE COMING SEASON AND MANY MANY MORE -

Always wondered what the shark teeth were for on spitfires etc! Chomping the ground as the land Haha
lol
They were Mk VIII Spitfires (pointy rudder and retractable tail wheel) from the Australian Grey Nurse squadron.
1:29 "the wheel came off".....
Priceless!! 🤣
glad it got a laugh
The saying "What goes up,must come down" doesn't include retracts....
🤣
😝
Inspired by the positive attitude of the people choosing to engage in this hobby
youve got to laugh or youll cry all the way home valor
love when planes find a penny right after landing
The only thing better than these vids is going to the local RC field and seeing live kamikazes.
lol
@@tbobborap1 lol, thanks for the vids!
I love watching mis haps, makes me feel better when I screw up ; )
same lol
we all have our moments 😆
1:20 the Corsair made a perfect emergency landing 👏
I guess scale pilots delivering on crash's is not just an American thing. Its a universal truth.
Having built several of these myself the first thing that comes to mind is always the hundreds of hours invested in making them so detailed. I probably enjoy building them as much as flying them. Great video sir! I did notice this was #1...oh my.
sorry joe - typo error - covid closed the shows down so a shortage of crashes im afraid
The really cool part is what you take parts from 3 and make 1 fly
Me too.. that was always my favorite part.. the build.. planes buggies trucks boats it's all about the build!!
@@mattosullivan9687 or building your own.. I took a bunch of spare parts and built an air snow sled.. just like an air boat but it was on a snow sled I got from the dollar store.. it was fun on the ice and very fast!!
at least the crashes are memorable.. still some of my favorite memories are the epic crashes.. hardly remember the non eventful flights lmao
1:50 oh he's probably going to break it while putting in the "plane holder"..........starts rolling down the field lol. Oh he's probably just being silly. Then he tries to take off and I lost it LOL.
As a pilot, I still love to build and fly R/C aircraft. 60yrs (young) cracking them up at the field never upsets me. I love to play with them because I'm not in the pilot seat. When I'm piloting an aircraft, I'm excited but serious, R/C flying is just good fun! Cheers!
thanks james
Thanks guys. Love watching these suckers crash. Especially when they go into full destruction mode.

It seems that people who enjoy RC planes as a hobby spend almost as much time as an air crash investigator as they do a pilot.
Hope that watching 6 months of expert building and considerable expense come down in a heap somehow brings new people into this great hobby . Crashes are the exception for most experienced modelers who have "paid their dues"
It's not hitting your target that will addict you to shooting. It's missing it that gets you hooked.
that helicopter was the very best one there. I watched it 10 times till my sides were hurting laughing. Never seen anything like that before. WOW!
thanks gordon
I feel for the pilots, so much time and effort put into them and then to crash.
Atleast some of them only have a landing gear collapse or the propeller break but I wish the pilots a blessed day
Trust me that rebuilding your plane its as much fun as flying them, this hobby its amazing!
Oh it suck's so bad.. I bought a by plane off a buddy of mine it was Kool and big.. I crashed that thing hard the first time I try to fly it.. fucker had grip I wasn't used too!
@@aleeexxx9 I agree.. 40 years in it and I love it.. I've seen so much change in all this time and I still have the best time.. only now I'm getting old and it's hard for me to walk so it's slowed me down but evey chance I can I go race my TA B44.1.. I love that buggy.. I was nitro for ever then the electric stuff started passing plus so much cleaner!! Got to love brushless motors and lipo power!! Lol
I remember being devastated when one of my cheap model rockets that took a few hours to build crashed or got damaged... can't imagine what its like to crash one of these that you spent hundreds or thousands of dollars on, spent days or weeks putting it together, and may be fully at fault for the crash as opposed to a model rocket crash where shit out of your control usually leads to the failure rather then you crashing it yourself trying to land!
its soul destroying tank !
If you don't damage your RC plane every time you fly it are you really spending enough quality time in your workshop? Gotta have something to do when you return home from these meets!
It's known to Aeromodellers as 'character building'.😉
Yepper I spent 300 plus hours building a Laser 200 had a OS Max 90 4 cycle. Flew it one entire summer, put her through many G loads and near the end of summer she fatigued on the port wing. Crash and burn, heart breaking to say the least
@@markmccastle7932That'd drive ya to drink. 🥴
it seems such a shame when you see them break up, they are really nicely made
The plane is beautiful...beautiful to look at
I suppose crashing your warbird on landing is just part of the scale experience. 😁
I have a WWII Pacific Theater book and one of the pilot stories mentioned that his plane got damaged and he crash landed on the carrier. The deck crew just dumped the busted plane over the side and got him a new one. The guy mentioned the flight safety officer didnt even bother to show up.
Man, how many times have I seen a loose screw ruin an RC flight? And so many retract collapses! As for the hotshot heli crashes? LOL.
I love listening to what Brits say over mishaps....
Is it me or are the landing with gear issues better than the ones with no gear issues?
That dudes laughing at the crash at 7:50 are fantastic
My new hobby is watching RC plane hobbyist crashing their hobby RC planes lol
Like how you dont do slow dragged out eplays. Good video.
Thanks to you for spendig all that time behind the camera!!!
many thanks jeff,
Los trenes de aterrizajes retractiles no soportan aterrizajes violentos
Had to watch it again! Hey Tbob, haven't been able to get on, lost connection on old phone & service. Have new one now.
hi lance, sorry to hear that m8, good to have you back now 👍
@@tbobborap1 What NEW RC EVENTS are coming up?
3:50 I feel him... I had the same thing happen to me two days ago (elevator horn failure), albeit on a much cheaper plane :(
Horrible feeling to see one's pride and joy plummet to the ground, without being able to do anything
what was sadder was the model was built ten yrs ago and was then stored, and then this was its test flight ! deano was test flying her for lee and the 3mm threaded rod that goes into the clevis at the rear of the elevator push rod sheared off (we think due to hi vibration stress caused by the petrol engine during the flight !) so she died a virgin without having finished a test flight !!!!!!!
What do you mean "horrible feeling to see" or "sad to watch"?
That crash looked great and was fun to watch 👍
I liked the Mustang with the landing strut shot off. Good landing considering.
Which one are you talking about. Almost all lost their gear.
Love the northon lad. "oh you lucky bastard"
lol - cheers edd
Some nice saves - glad to see only a couple of serious damages. Some beautiful aircraft there - loved the Gloster Meteor and the checkerboard P-47!
Glad you enjoyed it lkezu
That p51 is well and truly forked
actually it was rebuilt and repainted and is now flying again with a new owner
That sort of sums up how 2020 went bro, hope 2021 puts all that behind us. Safe travels
sorry theres not many crashes ken but covid shut down all the shows hence no big smashes !
In an alternate timeline this is how the Wright Bros perfected flight before trying it full-scale. Funny to think that all of human civilization and scientific discovery had to occur for flying model airplanes to be a hobby you can just do.
very true glenn
i like how the corsair bounced like a real corsair.
A Corsair with landing gear problems?! That can't be!
Waiting for my first rc plane to ship and I should probably be watching different content but yeah here I am
watch and learn duck because YOU WILL CRASH MODELS as you learn to fly and progress onto bigger & better models over time
this is why i realy care to good retracts :D
Thanks for sharing from Chicago USA
Thanks for watching!
Todo aterrizaje del que puedas salir andando es un buen aterrizaje
that helicopter is hilarious
The Brits are truly the best
thanks
That p51 hitting that well to scale mountain made my @$$ pucker and all I own is foamies so far, cant wait to really see how I react when I build and turn 1 to toothpicks, I assure you it wont take long unfortunately
thanks charles
Could already tell that first one wasn’t gonna be good cos it was wobbling all over the place 😂😂😂 at least the plane is perfectly fine besides the blades.
Back in the 1990s, I was lucky to enjoy this hobby (but with arfs and .45/.46 engines). The older fellows in the group with more money would fly nicer scratch stuff, and they'd always say "be careful with it be careful with it! and when one of us would turn the airplanes into toothpicks, they'd say "these days, with the good glues we have, you can fix anything until it gets too heavy!!".
Same word when parts flew. (thump) .."ouch"
thanks dave
I was hoping to see some ground slamming lawndatrs.
Well, you win some and you lose some! Cheers!
It always seems like the landing gear is fragile on these.
was it the same guy that installed all the retracts and installed the wheels lmao
I had a few dings with my gear. Then I started to think, hmm, grass grows, so cut it before the crew fly, then changed out the wheels for bigger and in cases lighter ones. More radius less friction and likelyhood of finding the micropothole
Nose end cockover, fuel out of plane, engine heavier afteer flight, longer landing gear legs.
Looks like a mighty expensive hobby!
It is I have two RC planes both very expensive
I see an overwhelming amount of spitfires in this compilation haha, i wonder if this is a sign to not buy the blackhorse 2000mm kit
AH! The walk of shame....
Twin was a beautiful save example of (NOT FOLLOWING SOP) & instead switching off both engines on engine failure
yeah thats really only way deal with an RC twin your better off cutting good motor since you dont know whats going on. most RC aircraft have better glide then you would think
those darn retracts!!
Well done everyone but so funny when they crash, Sorry
I've been looking forward to this all year
sorry theres not many crashes Aaron but covid shut down all the shows hence no big smashes !
@@tbobborap1 don't worry, I enjoyed it as always!
when ppl stop that zoom in
Like the old saying goes Misery enjoys company!!! Now I don't feel as bad!!. LOL!!!!
lol
I can't watch this , they are such beautiful models !
I loved the commentary. Thanks for posting.
Glad you enjoyed it mike
5:00 I like his skills with the rudder.
1:22 every warthunder landing ever
lol true
Nice one Pete 👍 at least some of these are winter repairs
thanks M
3 inch pilot seeks employment
Was just looking at the Mustang at about 3:30 and I can't see any up elevator movement at all. What happened?
as you could hear the pilot lost elevator, when we examines the wreck we discovered that the 3mm push rod thread had sheared due to not being supported while being vibrated by the two stroke engine
Smash ing one Pete. Just sad to see such lovely Planes being damaged. But, that is what it is.
May 2021 have more ups and not so many unexpected downs.
sorry theres not many crashes derek but covid shut down all the shows hence no big smashes !

@@tbobborap1 well, no one wants crash your plane, but sometimes it happens.
“ILL WAGER THEY ARE GLAD TO HAVE A REPRIEVE FROM CRASHING THIS SEASON - LOL”
Not everyone had a reprieve from crashing in 2020! I flew an E-Flite 64mm EDF F-15 Eagle straight into the ground on its 2nd flight. If only it were on camera. It was actually pretty spectacular. I’ve since fixed it and flown it 6 or 7 times now. Of course, on its last flight it ended up 75 feet up in a tree. (And got rained on) I got it back with minimal damage (a broken aileron servo) and I’m just waiting for some good weather to try it again.
yes i know what you mean matt
Big money and time to repare !
I'm no engineer, but it appears that more work needs to be put into the landing gear on these things.
Seems like more work needs to be put into the landing field too.
I built and flew back in the mid 80's
1st. was a sig kadet senior, a cap 40 and another 40 series top wing.
I had 2 gold series Futaba 6 channel radios and that was about the time Nextel and cellular started hitting.
The plane would sometimes start wagging rudder and elevator with no input from me on field. after a few years of un-responsive flights and crashes I gave up. 30yrs later getting the urge again.
Are radio failures/brown outs still common or did they get that worked out.
join a local club lectro and they will each you eerything you need to know ! good luck
Aaaaaand this is why I never fly a plane with retractable landing gear...
Sadly crashes are part of the hobby 💥
ohhh yessssssss
@@tbobborap1 gotta be able to laugh it off as well, we have a thing down our site where you don’t bring a bin bag because you’ll end up carrying your plane home in it 😂
Being a pilot and building several planes I've always thought it was easier to fly the real thing over the models..
your right steve it is easier flying the real thing, ive flown a cessna and took off and flew and landed on the first lesson, 35 yrs ago it took me nearly 9 months to fly solo on rc with any confidence of not destroying it, try it out and book a lesson in a cessna, youl love it
There's always the sound of heavy wind in these videos.
yep - good old uk weather
This is cool hobby ngl
I've been a hobbyist my whole life.. I got my first rc at about six and I had a bunch of deferent toys sense then.. I mostly race my biggies now but back when I had planes boats trucks cars a few home made ones but I wanted to tell this story.. about 15 years ago I built this beautiful A10 warthog it was awesome I spent about 900 on it took me about a month on weekends putting it together.. the day came to go fly it I took off and it was flying great.. it was up about 5 minutes or so when this big falcon started trying to attack my plain so I was coming around to land it and that fckn bird actually grabbed my plain out of the air and flew off towards the highway.. oh shit we jumped in the car and took off trying to find that bird and nope.. he was gone.. so we turned around headed back to the park to get my stuff when this guy was on the side of the road putting my plane in his car.. I stopped and told him what was going on and that's my plane he said bull shit and took off.. we got his plate I filed a complaint.. so about a week later I get a call from the police department saying come pick up your plane.. it seems the guy was an off duty cop and was in a lot of trouble for his actions.. I got my plane back but I was so scared to fly it again it just looked cool on the wall until I sold it!!
wow thats some story rusty,
@@tbobborap1 I had fun over the years. Had some crazy things happen racing and flying.. had an alligator grab this cheap boat I got for my kids. I was just testing it when blam! He crunched it.. it finally floated close enough I could get it back but that shit was funny.. I didn't know there was even a gator in that little pond.. yes in Florida
@@tbobborap1 I'm old I got a bunch of story's lol
Bravo m8
Why such windy days do they choose to go out?
well alex when you can predict a dead calm day youll become a millionaire over night 🤣
Interesting to watch (especially if you don't have to do any of the fixing). It shows the effects of lack of mass, which is how we glider pilots view hang gliders. 400 kg of glider will get me through quite a lot of turbulence without loss of control.
thanks lautoka
Build them, fly them, crash them, repeat...
hello there, I am also a model pilot and builder. I would like to know where you got the beautiful warbirds from? Which company are these from. and which engine do you use? Also Moki engines or others? So far I only fly electric, but I would also like to buy a warbird with a petrol engine that has a very good original sound. Many greetings from Germany. Lectar
A little hot glue and some paint and they'll be good as new.
There are a few people at the time of crash who find the need to laugh. General rule - don’t laugh if the owner is not laughing, and in 9 out of 10 times the owners are not laughing- trust me!
Boy I would not be laughing considering the time and cost of these birds investments.
its either that or cry scott - in front of 1000 paying public
Nice Video👍 I love all ww2 planes😍
if you like warbirds then check out our 442 video playlist of rc ww2 fighters here - ruclips.net/video/BR0FTHjThg8/видео.html
This is all my pain in one video
Looks like they spend more money on everything except the landing gear.
Did the pilot of the yellow mustang say what went wrong?
haha plane go boom
Are these planes to scale weight wise? They seem so light, especially the tail ends.
not in the slightest the power weight almost always better then 1:1 in most of them. the cross wind in first few didnt help
5:00 „you lucky bast***“ 😅
Bastard?
2:48 and 8:25 I actually know and fly with those helicopter guys even the one shouting "it's Ethan Williams"! 😅
That one dude crashed more than anyone in history
which dude ?
has any of these rc planes ever lost radio contact? what happens then? do they just keep flying until they crash?
25 yrs ago maybe models lost signal on the old 35mhz systems but extremely rare today on the modern 2.4 ghz radios, modern radios have a fail safe that closes the throttle in the rare case that the signal is lost so that the model will fall to the ground close by with the engine / motor closed (a legal requirement that the pilot / owner must adhere to or face legal prosecution if theres a serious accident) in 10 yrs of using the modern radios i have had one model go into fail safe (lost signal and the throttle closed) and it fell safely into a farmers field, we do not fly near built up areas with houses etc so we are as safe as we can be blake !
