Thats why I watch your channel. You represent real life. Keep up your work it does make difference. I never thought I would become interested in .380, the I hurt both shoulders. Age changes perpective.
What I like about your channel and what kept me subscribed is you keep it real and give us honest feedback. These newer channels are all about sponsorship and pushing what ever works for the channel and not the viewer plus they hype things up
Thank you for the update and thoughts on how you see the channel progressing, have definitely enjoyed it over the years! The one suggestion I would make: you describe this as a conversation channel. No need to ever shut it down, can always slow it down or take a break.
love your channel, and really glad to hear you have decided to keep it going. Excited to see what revolver you end up carrying... its been the LCR for me for the past 8 years.
One of my favorite RUclips notifications to receive is that TheOl1911 has posted another new video. I like your conversational style, and I like your presentations. Best of luck in 2025!
I have followed your channel since the beginning and always enjoy your content. Like you, I don't watch gun channels as much as I did 10 years ago. I do carry a government sized 1911 in .45 acp and have for years. Living here in CT with the 10 round mag limit, the 1911 in .45 was the only option that worked for me. As for RUclips, I watch more channels that are watches based or woodworking or car/truck stuff. Merry Christmas and look forward to 2025 content.
I only recently came across your channel because of my newfound love for revolvers. I appreciate how genuine and authentic your style is in your videos. Happy New Year to you!
I found your channel after getting interested in carrying a revolver and it's been a huge help! Sad to hear RUclips is giving you upload troubles, but here's to hoping things go better in 2025, thanks for the great content and Merry Christmas! 🍻
I’ve been watching you for years. You have been the most Genuine content creator on RUclips thanks for that and I hope you keep the videos coming. I hope you have a merry Christmas and a happy new year and I hope your family is safe and well. Thanks for all the videos that you have done can’t wait to see what next year brings
You hit so many things right on the head. It’s the same with motorcycling channels. Luckily I’ve found some great hang out channels. Have a great Holiday Season!
The thing about revolver guys, mostly Gen X and older, is that unlike the younger generation who sees revolvers as "cowboy guns" or "nostalgia guns", we see them as defensive guns just the same as semi automatic pistols. There was never a dividing line in time where they went away. We are old enough to remember them on cop's hips. A handgun is a handgun and they are all viable options. These young kids get their revolver knowledge from video games and legitimately think that it takes 2 seconds to get a follow up shot from a revolver and they all must be manually cocked, even if it's a double/single action revolver. These kids do not care about shot placement or stopping power averages, they only care about capacity.
Yeah and it drives me nuts. "Why would you carry an old heavy gun with such low capacity?" I've been called a fudd and a boomer I don't know how many times..lol
Plan on buying my 1st firearm for my bday next year. Thanks for all the content you make, it really helped me decide on what would be best for the start of my collection.
I’ve been carrying my 4 inch 586 for winter carry this year in an Azula holster. Been carrying beautifully. And I’ll go back to the 640 pro once spring rears it’s head in a few months
Thanks for another year and being my internet gun club buddy; and not a shill or tacticool drill instructor. BTW, I contemplated the 19 CC & 66 Combat Mag 2.75" & the 3" King Cobra and went with KC for the weight savings and lack of extra blast of the 19's comp. I'll see how it goes, as I'm in the midst of my 'waiting period'. ~Merry Christmas!
Well said. Now is the perfect time to relax & reflect on the past year. You are right about the 'newer' gun channels & their production standards. I'll admit I have bought, traded, or sold more guns and accessories this past year than ever before, & it's probably because of their influence. I don't blame them for my purchases, but it seems like after playing with the newer offerings & finding them lacking, it's time (for me at least) to go back to and stick with the tried and true.
Yup. I used to watch a lot of gun channels and psych myself up to get another latest wonder, but I have gotten a lot more conservative in my selections. The main reason is that pocket carrying my S&W 642 I have become reticent to carry anything else. The 19 carry comp is interesting but I doubt that I would carry it much because next to the Airweight, everything seems heavy and a pain to carry. I find that as I get older, comfort becomes exceedingly important.
I’m in the same boat as you buddy. Almost everything you said applies to me and my channel. In fact I hadn’t uploaded a video for over two years until last week. Hope to see you around for awhile yet. Keep up the good work!
Gun channels certainly have changed. I remember when begging for money from subscribers was looked down upon in the gun community. Some channels seem like a Telethon.
I really do like your videos, it makes me feel like I am talking to someone at the range about cool guns. If you are considering the 19 carry comp, I have the 3in version that I bobbed the hammer on, shaved down some VZ grips to make them "boot" style, and polished the trigger face. The slimmer frame and cylinder make it very comfortable to carry compared the the pug nose that I have even though the 19 is heavier. The comp also really helps tame the recoil of 357 as well.
Merry Christmas and like to see your 586 L comp don’t worry about carrying revolvers I do I love them and never feel out gunned I carry 357 and know I’ll hit what I’m aiming at
Merry Christmas brother....I hear what your saying....I still love guns but at 70yo I have some different priorities...one is Prepping ,,,,but more for my kids and grandkids...hang tough stay safe God Bless
I like your channel. Some try to push the latest-and-greatest, including training that will cost the same to attend as a destination-wedding. You seem more authentic.
I'm nearly 50 and I can definitely feel the recoil in my hands now, even 9mm. I have arthritis in my right hand pretty bad so I'm thinking about getting a 22 magnum revolver for carry.
You're content is a lot more enjoyable than most of the "big or popular " channels. Long intro's are annoying, and I don't want to watch something that reminds me of the home shopping network. Unless Billy Mays were running one, that would be entertainment.
Thats why i personally never started a channel. A lot of people think they are actors and they aren't. A lot of people are just using the 2A space to look cool and get sponsors. There isnt too many channels that aren't authentic to 2A community. Some of these channels wouldn't know how to live if they lost all their subscribers and had to go into regular jobs, and no fame. I personally may stop watching gun channels myself and just start going to the range a lot,and dealing with instructors in real time.
I dont understand the culture that you are in where random people at the gun range feel compelled to give e you unsolicited advice. Thanks for the video. Great channel.

Revolvers for life! Love the channel...

…don’t leave us hanging! What did you decide on?
You have an awesome collection!

Phat Jack Fudd here! All I see are koolkids with raceguns & I can't afford to be well regulated! Both are worth a chuckle!
Really enjoy the revolver content, as well as making friends where you’re at age wise and shooting.
I enjoy your channel for the reasons you enjoy doing it.

It’s called e-begging.
I really enjoy your channel. I think your content is great!
Merry Christmas! RIP Paul Harrell
Merry Christmas TheOL1911!!! Take all the time you need because you sure cannot get the moments back in the current present. Enjoy!
You will probably enjoy the Smith 19 Carry Comp. I carry the 4” Model 19-9 when I am outside of work. Otherwise it’s a 442UC.
I love revolvers. Working on trying to carry my j frame. Can’t wait for more videos on carrying a revolver.
@1:08 I couldn't agree more.

I want to hear about your history with the manufacturing process!
Thank you for your channel.

Would you ever consider the Diamondback SDR?
I like your channel. Some try to push the latest-and-greatest, including training that will cost the same to attend as a destination-wedding. You seem more authentic.
Korth makes a snub nose 9mm revolver, the Sky Marshall, that costs about $1700. You might give it a look. I think it may have a U.S. distributor.
Would be interesting to view your take on 327 Magnum and 32 H&R Magnum Revolvers.
Do you still rock the Thunder Ranch 325?
I'm nearly 50 and I can definitely feel the recoil in my hands now, even 9mm. I have arthritis in my right hand pretty bad so I'm thinking about getting a 22 magnum revolver for carry.
Oh yeah, this is my favorite channel.

I really wanna get a pug nose 327. I have the TRR8 already.
Today i pick up a cheap but new Norinco 1911a1. 🤤
Yeah you're almost 50 years old Only another 15 more years to work in law enforcement before you retire
I dont understand the culture that you are in where random people at the gun range feel compelled to give e you unsolicited advice. Thanks for the video. Great channel.
Have you considered the DiamondBack SDR 6 Shot???
