It's funny that he made a career exposing these corporations despite all of the info is available to the public kinda shows how lazy a lot of people have become when it comes to research. I don't want to sound like a boomer, but people nowadays don't think for themselves and because the education system is so fucked they *need* to rely on people who have more free time and energy to do all of that type of research.
In a world were people, especially Americans, are sick and tired of being exploited by billionaires who take advantage of the system, they do nothing to stop it nor try to fix it because they feel that no matter how hard they try, they're efforts are gonna get fucked over by the next guy and the cycle never ends.
Jake Tran knows this. He knows his fanbase are gullible. He knows they're easy to get swayed to his side. And as a result, he exploited them by giving them shitty apps that 'supposedly' gives people tips on how to make money fast. By going after shady corporations, he's learning how to be shady himself. He's not Edward Snowden. He's not even a renown journalist. He's a manipulative piece of shit who goes after vulnerable people thinking he's on their side, but in reality all Jake will ever see them as is a quick paycheck.

When it got to the ad segment I was actually amazed, I was thinking no shot he's actually going for it, to advertise a lottery in the middle of a video about how lottery is bad/evil. But he went for it, it was a real thing. I went down to check the comments and almost nobody gave a shit. My mind was absolutely blown that day.
It's funny, in a way all of this just proves what hes been trying to "teach" in his videos all this time, his whole channel is living proof of it. As much of a scumbag move as it is, if you leave morals aside for a second it's kind of admirable how fast he figured out the formula and cashed out.

This is a perfect example of when outrage spins out of control.

This does not means that there are no qualified mental health professionals. It just means that betterhelp didn't have to check their credibility and the responsibility was passed on to the clients. It's also crappy but wording shows the difference between nuance and falsehoods.
Today, the terms and conditions express that credibility is checked and to what extent with regard to the therapists in the US, UK & Australia.
I use betterhelp and I'm pleased to share that I was thankfully assigned a real professional.
People like to fault youtubers for making commissions with sponsorships like this but it's no different from any other company to me. Besides, if my favourite RUclipsrs hadn't continuously shoved betterhelp down my throat, I may have never really considered well needed therapy.

Content is king and I liked discovering new subjects and making my own research on it after. At one point quality started to drop, the new voices didn't sound as good as his own and it is really important in this type of content. People started to complain a lot in the comments, myself included because the quality of the scripts and the subjects chosen started to take a nosedive. I mean technically, a corporation is simply a group of people or other entities that act as one entity legally, i.e. a brand like Amazon. An honest mom and pop shop could be a corporation and I would consider them a friend, whereas some lone grifter I would not consider my friend.
There are also sole proprietorships in which a business is wholly owned by and is essentially one individual, which can be better or worse than a corporation. I could go on with examples but it is unfortunate how oversimplified or wrong that the average person or RUclips commenter is about various topics. There is nothing wrong about that, until they start acting like they do know and tell other people misguided or false information confidently, as you have done.

Same thing with proprietorships; but the point isn't that people can't be your friend, the point is that a nonliving entity with *literally only one goal* is not your friend.
As for why my answer was so simple? The complexities of corporate structure in this context have less bearing on the topic at hand IMO. I kept it simple, but (as you rightly pointed out) I missed two very important words. I have rectified it here.

"about the whole situation"... Can you do something for me and read the comments on this video and actually tell me what is that 'situation' exactly?
All I can see are hundreds of people appalled at the 'situation' but none of them puts any words on it...
Let me do that real quick:
Stupid kid, makes documentaries, makes money, hires voice over, script writers and go partying...
Oh, you meant the sh!tty sponsorships? You mean like all the other youtubers? Sorry, but seeing your favorite youtuber shilling a predatory mobile game doesn't make it less "evil" because every other youtuber is also shilling the same product... 20% of your favourite youtubers have just been "exposed" for accepting sponsors from Established titles and Kamikoto... So, clearly, we're not talking about bad sponsors here... So, what's left?
Stupid kid, makes documentaries, makes money, hires voice over, script writers and go partying...
That's the 'whole situation'. In other words, this video was a massive nothing burger. You guys are appalled because the tone of the video put you in a mood where you were supposed to be appalled... In other words, this video alone is a greater scam than Jake Tran ever pulled ^-^

There is a distinction between being successful on youtube and running a successful business on youtube. There are a bunch of channels that started with a "persona" and end up just hiring staff, most cases you notice a decline in quality and remind you of content machines like watch mojo - they lack personality and effort behind them. The compromise is the middle ground, hiring people who actually have an interest but that's not going to yield the highest profit.

Remember when Jake Tran had a "program" for his viewers to submit ideas for future video ideas to win $1,000?
You had to submit a video idea, the video title and video thumbnail text. Catch is, they (Jake and his team) would only reach out if they used the exact thumbnail text and title you submitted.
So, they'd make a video using the idea, but change the title and the thumbnail so they never had to contact the person who submitted the idea since it wasn't the exact title and thumbnail idea. They would also claim that your exact video idea, title and thumbnail were already in their video backlog if you ever reached out about them making a video with your idea.

I call it "Doom Porn." That didn't originate with me but it's fitting. It's all this scaremongering with no solutions (unless you call 'lining Jake's pockets with cash' a solution.) Fear makes people helpless, especially when you push it and push it (which is also lucrative in dollars and cents.) So who is the "Evil" one? A person playing on people's anger and fear and making money off it, disguising it as "eye opening information" while pushing scams... Or the Corporations that you already know are openly evil pricks? They both are.
His reaction to Coffeezilla was the nail in the coffin for a lot of fans. I'd had it after he just had these "WOW, X is EVIL" Clickbait titles. We know Royal Dutch Shell are evil. In fact anyone who has an Internet connection and is inquisitive, already knows these companies and their scandals. My mate who is 6 years older than me dropped knowledge bombs on me when I was 17-18 and onwards, some of which included the stories of IGFarben, RDS, Monsanto, Bayer Pharmaceuticals and many other's.

    I have to add something.
Not only the YT Algorithm doesn't care, a significant part of the internet community also doesn't care.
As long as you follow the rules of the Internet, you can be exploitive and evil.
In his case this would be the rules:
    - be transparent
    - never apologize
    - be entertaining or informative and keep producing content
And he will keep being successful until somebody else comes along and does a better job.
At one point he will get lazy and somebody else comes along and does a better job. Maybe this someone is even a former contractor and script writer. And then we will see, if he understands all rules of the internet. He can either comeback and regrow or punch down, trying to shut down this new rival.
