Okay, Punk has every right to not want to deal with Colt ever again. That was a 20 year friendship that ended very badly, and Colt hurt him. You could tell even in the scrum that Punk had never wanted to talk about it again, but felt forced to. Because he (Tony Schiavone) by that point has probably already realized like the rest of us, that TK is a coward that avoids confrontation and responsibility as if it's the plague.
And even if Schiavone would have went to Khan first, TK wouldn't have handled it because he would have been scared shitless about the possibility that Jungle Jackoff wouldn't be his friend anymore. Jason is one of the most level headed wrestling commentator out there. This is the one major occurrence that I feel he has a distorted view when analysing. Him defending AEW being a 'real business' is the crux of it.
I know he wants AEW to be successful like a lot of us, but a real promotion would've incurred far more positives from the period when WWE were down and they had the great momentum of being a novelty act. A properly run merch department alone would've brought down the deficit. He also says WWE is a very old company. True but Vince was acting on his ambition of expanding and going national from the get go, hence taking tons of risks. Yet, in his entire reign that lasted decades, he only lost net money in one solitary year. All other years were profitable

@Solomonster Sounds Pff The comparison between Punk not talking to Colt Cabana and the Young Bucks not wanting to sit down and talk with Punk is a strawman argument. They are in no way related to each other, and have no parallels with each other.
Punk not wanting to talk to Colt without a lawyer present stems from Colt suing Punk as part of the whole situation with both of them being sued by the WWE's doctor. I'm not gonna go into details about that, but yes, I can understand why Punk would feel that particular way. It's like "You LIED about the nature of your situation then SUED ME for money". There's some shit you don't come back from, and I believe that is one of them. Your own argument about the Young Bucks being EVPs earlier in this segment just kills your entire point about Punk/Colt. The Bucks are EVPs within AEW. They have a PROFESSIONAL OBLIGATION to sit down with Punk as they're supposed to put the good of the company FIRST over PERSONAL FEELINGS.
So you can't say how The Bucks have a professional obligation out of one side of your mouth, then complain when Punk doesn't talk to Colt over a legal situation, and doesn't trust him stemming from that without a lawyer present out of the other side of your mouth.

That is basic common sense when dealing with people who were involved in lawsuits with you, you don't speak to them without your lawyer, and if you do, you do it through text or email. By the way, high level athletes tend to fight a lot, I know that the vast majority of wrestling shows on youtube are done by people with limited experience around athletes from other sports, but they're not typically known for turning the other cheek, especially not when you and a bunch of other guys enter another man's locker room. That's how fights happen, and it's a bad look for wrestling fans as a whole when internet wrestling shows and some fans stomp their high heels about a fight breaking out between guys who literally simulate combat sports as a profession.

      Why? Here’s why.
The issue wasn’t what Page said. It was that Page went into business for himself on LIVE TV. Punk has never been in a situation where someone on the top professional level decided to completely throw out the planned script and leave him holding the bag WHILE Page was trashing him and he didn’t know what Page was talking about.
You NEVER go into business for yourself in wrestling. EVER. It’s a business based on trust and teamwork. You need each other to sell your feud and draw money.
It was a championship main event for a PPV, the biggest one in AEW history at that point in time. They were red hot. They had seats to fill, tickets to sell.
And instead of doing business like a professional, Page ambushed Punk for his own agenda and risked making the company look bad on live television, which is expensive, millions of dollars.
      It’s amateur bullshit.
If Page had done that to me, I would’ve gone straight to Tony and said, “I refuse to work with this guy. I can’t trust him. Either take the belt off him now and get me another person to work with, or take me out of this program. But I’m not working with this douche again. Or you had better discipline him. AEW was formed as a business which was gonna listen to fan base which felt they weren't being heard. AEW does need to continue being a business. WWE has ALWAYS focused on business and had (for a time) forgotten their fanbase. They're getting back to it. AEW needs to get back to that balance.

I've been hearing you say time and time again that no one is safe from criticism, and there's equal blame to go around, yet you always seem extra angry at Punk.
I have NO clue why you decided to completely skip over the part where he talked about the situation with Hangman Page, when Hangman decided to go into business for himself. Both Page and Punk discussed the promo beforehand, and then Page stabbed him in the back. Please explain how that is not a fireable offense, or at least a suspension? The EVPs decided to put a fake story out that Punk wanted Cabana gone, which is funny because Cabana was in the company several months with Punk, and there were NO issues. How is that not a fireable offense, or at least strip them of their EVP titles? The point I'm trying to make here is that you think Punk should've been fired, yet ALL he did was defend himself from others' actions. He did NOT start anything on his own, everything he did was a reaction from what OTHER people were doing to him. He tried to get it handled professionally, but the supposed 'Boss' did NOT want to handle it. There's only so much a person can take before they have to defend himself, and you think that's HIS fault?? Regardless, if having a physical altercation is a fireable offense to you, then should Chris Jericho have been fired for his backstage fight with Goldberg? The SAME EXACT situation happened, Goldberg threatened him, and Jericho choked him out. Keeping it to AEW, I've NEVER seen you advocate for the firing of Eddie Kingston or Sammy Guevara when both of them have gotten involved in numerous backstage physical altercations.
You also left out the part when Punk was talking about the confrontation with Perry that you shouldn't let people get 'too close.' Solo, you're from New York, have you never seen a confrontation before?? I find that very hard to believe, which is why this is very confusing to me. Why in the hell would you let ANYONE get that close to you who's threatening you? You don't know what they're going to do, so why even give them that opportunity? Do you honestly think that Taker, Stone Cold, or even Bret Hart wouldn't have reacted the same way if Perry was threatening them? They probably would've done much worse to Perry.
You also didn't talk about the part where Punk stated that "If you're happy about having a five star match in a building that's only 25% full, then we're not in the same business." THAT'S what Punk was talking about when he said AEW wasn't a 'real business,' because THAT'S what AEW cares about over actually making money. ANY other business would be trying to change things when there's low ratings and attendance, yet AEW isn't concerned about that at all, just trying to please people like Dave Meltzer. Maybe that's why you didn't talk about this part, because it paints Meltzer in a bad light, and for whatever reason you continuously use him as a main source even though he's been thoroughly discredited time after time again.
It's funny, for many years Punk was never EVER seen as someone who lies. When he was shitting on WWE, he was being cheered over and over, yet when he criticizes indy favorites, and AEW, now he's seen as someone who isn't trustworthy. Well, here's how I see it, Punk is the only one being open about this, and the other side is saying nothing. Usually when someone hands out NDAs, they have something to hide, kind of like Vince. Why is Vince an asshole for making people sign NDAs, yet it's fine for Tony Khan to constantly hand out NDAs? When Punk didn't answer about whether he got hurt before or after the Brawl Out fight, that tells me that he got hurt in that fight, and TK did NOT want Punk to sue the company over the EXECUTIVE VICE PRESIDENTS hurting an employee. Do I know that for a fact? No, but I do know that it makes NO sense to have someone sign an NDA because they got hurt in a wrestling match.
I have no clue why you continue to stick up for people like the Bucks and their friends. Yeah, they were there to help form AEW, but what positive contribution do they really bring to the company? They start drama, they drove people away from attending the shows, and they lower the ratings every time they're on the screen. Why would ANY proper business continue to deal with people like this? If this was your company, would you continue to deal with that? I know that if it was my company, I wouldn't want to deal with people like that.

Love you Solomonster but this is one of those times when I completely disagree, everything Punk said was true and AEW knows it which is why they and their fans are freaking the fuck out. The Elite have way more blame in this because they’re not just talent they’re fucking EVPS which means they have a responsibility to do what’s best for business instead they do whatever the fuck they want and Tony doesn’t do jack shit about it and that’s what drove Punk nuts and rightfully so. AEW selling out Wembley stadium I think is massively overblown that stadium doesn’t host major wrestling often so having a promotion that’s on national TV run a show there is a rarity so of course it’s gonna sell, same with Revolution selling out because of Stings retirement, it’s a novelty you can’t pull that shit every ppv, WCW even at its creative worst in 2000 was still selling out in other countries, and let’s not forget that AEW has yet to turn a profit in its existence, and they’ve been losing viewers since they first started and the novelty of the promotion is gone so I doubt they’re gonna get a massive increase in the tv rights deal. Tony Khan being a billionaire absolutely props up AEW let’s not downplay that, TNA and NWA never had anywhere near that kinda financial backing hell a lot of talent struggled to get paid, Tony’s throwing $ left and right to talented and untalented wrestlers who are either booked like shit or never had a chance of moving the needle. Tony doesn’t know what the fuck he is doing, the talent know it but they ain’t gonna say shit because they wanna ride the gravy train for as long as they can. Punk was willing to work with the elite, they weren’t gonna become friends but he was willing to be professional so they could draw some $ and put on a compelling product, but the Elite aren’t interested in that because it’s not their $ on the line and they know Tony ain’t gonna do shit, how the fuck can you justify giving executive power to people who don’t give a shit about what’s best for the company? It’s fucking idiotic and eventually it’s all gonna fall apart

If Jack Perry was throwing a tantrum, send him home or fire him for his unprofessional behavior. The outrage meter here is so broken. All of the conversation and outrage are around a relatively tepid criticism of Tony Kahn, the Billionaire and owner of the company. However the fact this Billionaire doesn't take care of his injured talent and seemingly ghosts any talent or employee, he is even slightly miffed at, and allows an obvious at least somewhat clique based and toxic locker room attitudes from other executives in the company to not only fester, but outright ignore or worse encourage it.
Punk definitely has his share of fault, but the fact the narrative has always been on the head of CM Punk a talent. Not executives and the literal boss have always been so mind-blowing. Most talking heads treat Tony as if he's some child or something. He's a grown man with more wealth and power than anyone involved, but somehow, he is largely portrayed as being victimized and powerless.
Refusing to do what is necessary and professional or worse pretending it doesn't exist. Does not make him a victim or less ultimately responsible. Its incredible mental gymnastics to lay the lion's share on someone who was ultimately a talent or employee for months or years of disfunction.

I disagree with the comments you made about AEW being a business and citing the cash flow.
I think if youre listening to punk's sentiment, its a bit more nuanced than theyre not making money and ill use where i work as an example:
I work at a place where all the pieces of a professional outfit exist and the place is able to pay folks and stays in business. However, i dont feel like its a real business because of lack of structure with employee responsibilities, often leading to confusion over who handles what and when, and in the utilization of the tools set up almost comically to be the least useful for doing high volume and quality business. Instead we do low volumes and quality is marginally acceptable most days. And no one running the sbow sees anything wrong. Theyre not a real business to me. This is just some guy looking to not work that hard until he retires and does even less than he does now to grease up his rusty machine he calls his business.
So in that regard, i think its important to look at that aspect of what cm punk is saying. He said he went there to stir up big numbers and in a sustainable way i would assume, thus dont wreck rental cars and spray glass on peoples eyeholes, etc. Use that when the rental access we lose is offset by doubling out buy rates on the ppv. Etc.
I just dont think people heard past the vernacular. AEW has financial stability and cash movement. But thats the bare minimum to be considered a business.

Part of the issue I had was the complete disrespect of everyone that was there day one of AEW. When Punk didn’t congratulate his co workers and staff for All In. The way he said,” Finally a million dollars draw.” It took a whole team of wrestlers and backstage personnel for multiple years to make that night possible. It came off as he was the only one on the PPV, while several people made it possible for him to get a second chance and get paid.
What we don’t know is how everyone else working there interpreted what he said, which he sounded hostile most of the scrum.
That’s like going to work and a project got completed, but you take 100% of the credit and you did the least work. I guarantee some of the people involved would dislike the insecure credit whore at that moment. Completely ignoring what everyone else gone through to make the project work.
We talk about miscommunication and what not. But, none of us know what transpired from when Punk left the media to the locker room to the door banging incident. All could’ve been cleared up without the unnecessary drama. All sides failed at being professional and an “adult.” Tony badly fumbled the ball as a boss. Punk can’t say he’s innocent in this with having back and forth on Twitter with Hangman before the UK PPV.
Personally, I wished all side move on, but here we are again.
If you can’t take people attacking you back, disrespecting, or criticizing you, then shut up for once. No one is obligated to be your punching bag. It’s only natural for you to reap what you sowed.
