  • Get ready for a mind-bending journey through the portals as we unleash the mighty RX 7600 in the world of Portal with real-time ray tracing! In this video, we're taking the RX 7600 for a spin, pushing its limits to see just how it handles spectacular the graphics can get in the iconic Aperture Science Laboratories.
Is this the performance leap we've been waiting for on RDNA3 cards?

Indeed, and also a major improvement over RDNA2

@@nightsightproductions With the AFMF preview drivers you should be able to run it with frame generation and get 60fps.

@Dark-qx8rk We will be retesting the 7600 on all settings, and we'll make sure to include fluid motion frames in it

Hey have you had a black screen for amd card recently?

Wtf, why rx 7600 better perfomance then my rx 6900x

it might just be lack of driver support because on Linux the 6000/7000 series runs portal rtx way better than on windows (Example: we got the steam deck to run portal rtx at 15fps on linux), the only reason I can think of why the 7000 series runs on windows decently is because the cores were improved upon to handle raytracing faster so it's basically brute forcing it's performance

@@nightsightproductions on linux i had 90 fps, on windows 23 fps, tf

rx 7600 (rdna 3) have 2nd gen ray tracing cores, so thats why he gets better performance than your rx 6800, bc rx 6800 have 1st gen ray tracing cores (rdna 2)

@@blable9411Sadly the Windows drivers are broken rn for 7000 series 😔

      @@blable9411 1) I don’t have a 6800, i have rx 6900xt.
      2) 90rt cores RDNA2 is more powerful than 32rt cores RDNA3, because rt cores RDNA3 are only 1.8 times more powerful, 32 * 1.8 = 57.6, this will be proven to you by any other normal RT benchmark.
      3) Under Linux via proton I get 90 fps same settings, therefore optimization for rdna 2 on windows is broken either on the part of amd or nvidia.

Use FSR mod for DLSS. My 2060 Super (who is 4 years old) produces a better picture at the same FPS xD

wait how come 7600 suddenly get so much better fps? whats the magic?

    • @nightsightproductions
      @nightsightproductions  6 дней назад

This is actually without the AMD mod, with the AMD mod it would be hitting 60fps, we just haven't made a video on it yet

@@nightsightproductionsdamn, i was all into this ray tracing shit so i was thinking of buying an 3060ti for a while but now that im seeing this, is it the new enhanced drivers? Seriously cant imagine how 7900xtx would perform plus mods. Does minecraft RT also perform much better now?

@@dolanthefacc879 This was on an old driver, so it's before AMD even improved their Raytracing in recent drivers, For Minecraft RTX, haven't tried it in a while, might be interesting for a future video
