    I've been playing for 15 hours, not once did I think to dig under ruins, now I feel foolish, but also have my next day planned.

      I find it best to dig under ruins that are grouped together in a village! Good luck in your hunt!

    10 episodes in and I'm glad I decided to bingewatch the first season of your vintage story guide before continuing on the second one. I love seeing the growth, both in playstyle and editing.

      Aw hey, I just saw your other comment on the season 2 video about watching the first season. Honestly, I think both seasons are a blast, each of them being fun in different ways. It definitely was a learning curve early on in the first season, but I'm still learning new tricks, both in Vintage Story and big and little ways to improve my editing and efficiency! :D
      I've had a couple people go back and watch the first season (and sprinkle the videos with new comments), so if you keep watching, I'd be thrilled to hear your thoughts on it! ;)

    You know, there was a time, when you have to throw the new tools in the water to cool them down. It splashes and bubbles and it was a fun to do. So I keep on throwing. Just for the fun.
    As always - nice video did you create. Thanks!

    I really like the anvil metal recovery mod for making the use of hammering tool heads more viable rather than pouring them into molds because of the metal bits you recover based on the amount of voxels you break off. Its a great mod and paired with xskills where you can get a skill that give you quality tools from forging its a great way to make things more interesting and rewarding for doing it the long way.

    With the asbestos skin at least the skin colours finally make more sense.

    • @Kurazarrh
      @Kurazarrh  2 года назад +6

      Haha, true. Though the player in Vintage Story isn't human; they're "seraphs," which the developers have described as "a kind of fairy." So I think normal human skin colors were already out the window!

    Great episode. I like that the anvil took longer to pour. Lots of good informatikon.

    • @Kurazarrh
      @Kurazarrh  2 года назад +1

      Yeah I was at a somewhat bad angle to see it, but if you pour from above, you can watch it fill up as you pour!

    I'd figured that i should chip in an important information in regards of blacksmithing and entering the copper age for people new to Vintage Story and watching this episode of the guide series when 1.18 stable gets released in the future!
    ! I have been playing on the unstable 1.18 as of the time writing this so listen up!
    #1 From Vintage Story 1.18 and onwards, you need to make wooden tongs to be used in offhand slot to be able to hold and interact anything hot from the crucible, casted tool heads and ingots for smithing. This requries some sticks and flax twine which can be gathered from harvesting wild or farmed flax plants, killing drifters and getting them from cracked farming vessels in ruins.
    #2 Standing on molds with hot metal liquid and pouring too close to the mold also hurts you too.

    • @Kurazarrh
      @Kurazarrh  Год назад +3

      I actually didn't know that about the molds! Thanks for the tip! I will be doing a new season of the Guide series in 1.18 so I'll be sure to provide an updated how-to on casting and smithing! :)

      @@Kurazarrh I can't wait for your next season of the Vintage Story guide if you ever planned on continuing on with the game!
      I'm gonna miss having Asbestos hands but I'm also buying into my own headcanon that the Seraphs are becoming more human-like in character and traits.

    How do you carry a vessel on your back ? It's a mod ? What's the key to pick up

    • @Kurazarrh
      @Kurazarrh  2 года назад +2

      It's from the CarryCapacity mod by copygirl. You have to crouch with both hands empty and hold right click to pick up \ out down. Once you pick it up, if you crouch-right-click again while not targeting a block, you can put it on your back or take it off.

    Do most ruins have basements like those, or are they specific types that do

    • @Kurazarrh
      @Kurazarrh  2 года назад +4

      In my experience, I've really only found basements in ruins that appear in village-like groups. Haven't found a basement yet in a single, free-standing ruin.

    In the 'game which shall not be named' having poor quality ore is handy. Not nice for the mining bit but easy maths for the smelting bit.

    • @Kurazarrh
      @Kurazarrh  2 года назад

      That other block game has different qualities of ore? I assume it's from a mod?

      @caphalor08 2 года назад +2

      @@Kurazarrh bingeing your series at the moment. well, there was this hypothetical game which was really too simplistic so maybe someone (can't imagine who) might have created a mod commonly referred to by three letters in which you could encounter 'poor', 'normal' and 'abundant' quality of ore. 'poor' having 10 units of ore making it very easy to work out ratios

    This game seems hard and emersive
    When will the full version be available in steam?

    • @Kurazarrh
      @Kurazarrh  2 года назад +7

      It has a bit of a learning curve, but it also has configurable difficulty, so it can be made as easy or as difficult as you're comfortable with!
      As far as I know, there are no plans to release on Steam due to the large 30% cut that Steam takes on all sales. It is, however, available at Vintage Story's own website and through the Humble Store.

    • @Brigtzen
      @Brigtzen 2 года назад +1

      I copied this from their FaQ for information about releasing to steam:
      Why is the game not on Steam?
      Steam is a great platform to sell your game, we know. Yet, we would like to avoid putting the game on Steam for the time being to for several reasons:
      Steam takes a 30% cut of the profits, which we see as unreasonably high, and leaving us developers with not much after the 5% transaction costs, 20% VAT and ~25% income tax deductions.
      Steam policy prevents refunds after 2 hours of game play. We would like to be able to refund for longer than that. If you don't like our game, even after 2 hours of game play, then we don't want your money.
      We ❤ Independence ^_^
      That being said, it is still possible that the game will be on Steam some day.
