Virtual replied to a comment below on how to find the option to hide/reveal. For any new Talespire users (Me) who are wondering where the button was. Thanks for the tutorial!
Sup Gund! Dude, this overview is really useful! I like to think that I'm pretty familiar with TaleSpire, but It gave me a really nice sense of why, when, and how to make the most of hide volumes! Thanks for making this!

No clue! They just finished HeroForge integration and are now working toward the cyberpunk asset pack plus... bug fixes? Slow updates (and primarily back-end ones) are the down side of a small dev team :(
There is an experimental and (IMHO) not very functional version of FoW that's been in the game for a long while, but you have to turn it on in the settings. Frankly, Hide Volumes work better than this at the moment. However, the devs definitely are working on FoW, but the problem is that true 3D FoW is hard and there are currently no games that have the kind of system they're looking for. In a recent dev stream (it's available on YT, look for it in the BounceyRock YT channel) they showed a demonstration of the best they've come up with so far, which is NOT what they're going to roll out, but it kind of points to a method they might implement. TLDR: they're working on it; it's hard; it won't be coming really soon; but it will come at some point.
anyone know if bouncy rock has fixed this issue? i would hope the devs would at least allow the DM to lock player cameras. or only have a first person cam view for players only
There is a Hide/Unhide option from the radial menu if you right click on them as a GM. Otherwise, hide volumes now have a filter which can hide/display tokens.
It would be, assuming you could actually select a fog area and then link it to an attribute of an object. Thus we wait for all the back-end stuff to come together first :( In the meantime, I'm kicking around the idea of a video for how to make the best of Janky Fog of War.
This is such a major flaw on an otherwise great game. hide volumes is aweful. Even if players cant see, they still know something is there. Im breaking my mind to find some way to compensate for that, but there are simple no tools available to do anything
To Bouncy Rock's credit, figuring out how to hide things elegantly in 3d space is extremely difficult. The only practical solution I can think of right now would be if hide volumes didn't have to be squares, or if Fog of War didn't actually make fog, it just made tiles actually invisible.

@@VirtualTabletopJourney Thanks, watched it too! Very helpful, excellent work explaining this so clearly!
AMAZING tutorial! Thank you! I'm just learning TaleSpire and so far I'm loving it!
Glad you enjoy it!
How are you getting the hide volume selection? I don't see those options

This is a great video! Do you know if fog of war is actually coming at some point? It still isn't here in 2022.

How do you reveal creatures from hiding?

Isn't it just something like or some such nonsense? :o wtb fog of war
