I’m so happy you made this video. I have been struggling with my concealer. I have been using too much concealer and after a few hours it’s settles in to my wrinkles. 😩 I’m going to buy a couple of the products you have suggested. Thank you Anne! ❤️
For the best use of Vaseline I’ve found if I use it at night as a final step on top of under eye serums and moisturizer to “lock in” the product works best. It seems to really enhance the product underneath. Otherwise it’s too greasy to use with concealer as a daytime moisturizer.
Hyaluronic acid which is just as cheap holds in a huge amount of moisture ps just incase you dont know ;) it is an acid but not as we commonly know! it is made for your skin much more beneficial than Vaseline might be worth a try , less messy :)
Omg! I tried the vaseline trick with my concealer, it did not crease. I had just about given up on concealer completely. I love your channel. Thanks so much! ❤️
Thank you so much. My mature dry under eyes can’t handle the heavy concealers needed to cover the darkness. The emollient concealers don’t provide the coverage. So frustrating!! Therefore, thanks for the tips!!!
I ❤️ every word your saying. I've watched every single under eye video you shared (done it all myself) and you are EXTREMELY consistent about it. Just Plain & Simple under eye @ our age suxs. PERIOT!
I use my undereye cream, let it soak in for a few minutes, then put the vaseline over it - ONLY overnight. It really helps 'lock in' my eye cream, and my under eye wrinkles really seem to be showing less and less - I've been doing this for about 3 months. Thanks for another good video, I enjoy watching all your videos!!!
It does not escape me that I do not need an under eye concealer. I have a great skincare system that keeps my skin under my eyes very moist. And, just 2 months shy of turning 59, I don't have discoloration. So, I just use my regular foundation over my entire face. When I have tried concealer in the past, man, did that date my skin!!! Any concealer is an 'un-concealer' for me!!! But, you have given me info that could be something I need down the line.
These tips were great!! The smallest amount you can get away with the better! Some days, depending on what foundation I am using I will use the foundation as my concealer. I don't put powder directly over it unless it is done the way you did it with the damp BB. Otherwise my eyes would look just like the one you demonstrated with the thick concealer and a lot of powder! Girl, I can't even imagine that looking good on a young woman, as a matter of fact I did not use concealer in my 20's and 30's, did you? I might be in the minority but if ain't broke don't fix it!!! Thank you for sharing this! Love and Hugs!!
Many years ago, in my 20s, I used to use Vaseline around my eyes as a moisturiser until I read that it was far too heavy for the delicate skin under the eyes. I find it hard to believe that has changed. But I’ll give it a go now out of curiosity.
Love love love your concealer videos and reviews. My under eyes are very dry. I use Retin-A and do NOT put it under them but I think it still migrates. I'm still on the hunt for my HG concealer. The hydrating concealers do not provide enough coverage or they don't last. The struggle is real!
That was a fun video to watch! Learned a lot too! I still haven't caved in yet and purchased the Sisley Concealer, but after seeing how little you used, I am guessing it should last a long time! You always give such great instructions!
Yes this concealer will last a long time. Absolutely worth it in my opinion. It covers well, doesn't crease and it doesn't look or feel like I'm wearing a concealer which I love.
You are so right on this! another little tip that i do and i am 64 is when i have placed a tiny tiny! Amount of concealer i use my finger dip it into powder just a tiny amount on the tip and press it into the concealer. The heat and moisture of my finger kinda melts the powder in, i try not to smile for a few mins ;)
I am so glad I watched this. I am 56 and I have never used concealer. All I see is women pilling on concealer that I started thinking that I have to use it. The small amount that you put on makes much more sense. I am glad that I stumbled upon your video and I subscribed today.
@@melissalynn6680 thank you. That is very sweet of you to say, but I truly never use concealer. I have tried it once or twice but I just don’t have any use for it. I don’t have dark circles under my eyes the the wrinkles I do have I earned over the years. I really enjoy your videos.
@@julielyons9180 yes you definitely dont need anything under your eyes your makeup is done very flattering you look very young.😊 sometimes less is definitely more.
Hi Anne great video. You are so right in saying less is more I think a lot of the problem not liking how the concealer looks is the amount used and how it is applied. You gave some great tips. Love the top you are wearing the colour is amazing on you. Have a safe and happy weekend xxo Jackie
Such a helpful video Anne. I find that it’s better for me if I don’t use any powder at all under my eyes over the concealer and I only use the tiniest bit of concealer. Like you say we are all different and you have to find the best way for yourself. I do think it’s important to make sure your under eyes are well hydrated before putting anything on. 🥰💜
I really enjoy your concealer videos. Got the Sisley concealer and wouldn’t change it for anything. If I do the Vaseline hack it would look like the It cosmetics concealer that looks real wet. I dislike the udereye wet look! Thanks for a good video, real and entertaining.
Using Vaseline for anything on my face doesn't tempt me at all! Interesting to see different concealers and ways of application. Started using colour correcting cream a few months ago - definitely makes a difference. Thanx for the fun and informative video.
Am I crazy or is this the same video from the other day? 😜 By the way, did what you said about using the tiniest amount of concealer and it worked soooo much better! I use the Charlotte Tilbury powder also and I love it. It’s the only powder I’ve actually hit pan on!
Hi Annie I also like the Lamcone concealer that I have had way over a year as you said a little is all you need it's still half full. I just ordered the sisley one I am waiting for that to ship now. I also have just this past Oct stated using collagen cream on my face I really do see a big improvement in my skin I still use all my other moisturisers and serums I fill my foundation looks better now. You look great Annie Thank you for all your tips on skin care and make up it's helped so much. Have a Blessed weekend. ❤
That's awesome! I take a collagen supplement in a powder form and I've def noticed a difference in my skin. I've been using it for several years now. Hope you have a great weekend!💖💖💖
Great tips thanks! I agree I don’t like the tarte shape tape either it’s way too thick and heavy. I also don’t “bake” it’s too much and makes my skin look so dry. On the other hand the vaseline hack I may actually like because I like a more dewy under eye look so I may not mind the shine from the vaseline. You have beautiful skin by the way!
Oh boy did I need to see this video! I have very dark circles that have driven me crazy forever. I have a plethora of concealers and none seem to work cause they all crease and show texture. I don’t use a lot of concealer under my eyes but I’m gonna try to use even less now! Thanks Anne! 😁
Omg I love you girl. This shiznay is SO legit and just.... like your best (mature) girls hanging and keeping it real. 👍🏻 Side note: I just do not put any makeup or powder under my eyes anymore. Anne I have such a dark shadow under my eyes. This was really helpful. Most concealers are too light & not enough peach. The Bobbi brown has probably worked the best for me. It's a struggle to be sure. And Vaseline under the eyes? No thank you. I rub my eyes too often. 👀
Hi Anne, The Sleep And Glow Pillow you have with your discount code, the website shows the "Omnia Pillow" and the "Aula Pillow". Which pillow do you prefer, and what is the difference? I keep waking up with my right side of my neck hurting from just sleeping on regular store bought pillows, and was hoping that maybe the sleep and glow pillow might help? Thank-you!
Great tips, Anne! I hadn't heard of the Vaseline hack, but I might give it a try just for grins, since I'm not going much of anywhere these days! I can't bring myself to put any powder under my eyes, but will occasionally tap the Revlon anti-shine under there! Your bloopers always make me smile! -xoxo
Does it make a difference that the woman that first did this used Vaseline CREAM? I would think there would be a huge difference between jelly and cream. Just curious 🧐
That's the hack I saw too. With the vaseline LOTION for dry skin...which I believe does soak in and dries on the skin. I would love for AnneP to re-do this hack with the correct product.
Good one today. I am still looking for an under eye concealer that doesn’t crease and age me. Glad you found one that works for you. It’s so frustrating. I tried the tarte tape and laughed. Returned. I enjoy your channel and ideas. You may have mentioned before, but I am relatively new to your channel. How do you keep your teeth so white and pretty? If you care to share I’d love to know. Thank you!
Thanks Anne, very helpful. I bought the Sisley concealer and still struggling a little with it. I have shade 2, I will try and set it with powder which I have not done. Have always been afraid of powder under the eye area.
I’ve been using the kopari stars eye balm under my eyes for a while now and works amazing for me ❤️❤️ I’m 56 lol ohh I also use the hack with the tapping of a setting spray works great!!
Remember back 20 years ago... When we stayed up studying, doing those long work hours (at your shitty job), then going out for coffee with your girlfriends, maybe also staying out late with your potential mate, what about those occasional party nights (ugh), finally settling down and eventually having a baby... But you could STILL pile concealer under your fresh young eyes to hide the multitude of your sins? !!! Good times! Now if I sleep for less than 5 hours, NO eye cream or concealer can hide that mess.
Hi Anne, I don’t use powder under my eyes and sometimes I won’t even use a concealer, I don’t have dark circles under my eyes to hide and find a lot of concealers will just crease on me so it’s best I don’t use one, actually when I was in Sephora going back a couple of years ago now in Hawaii while we were on vacation, I mentioned this to one of the girls there about the issue I have with concealer and she suggested that I try getting one shade lighter in a foundation for me to use and I purchased one and it actually worked for me, but I still don’t wear it all the time, and Powder is my worst enemy when it comes to makeup Lol 😂, it will turn a good makeup day into a horrible makeup day and will just crease on my whole face, I’ve even tried that CT flawless filter one that you like and use...I’ll put PawPaw ointment on my lips every night, but I couldn’t imagine putting it under my eyes, you could definitely see the difference. Great video as always. Best Wishes and Kindness from Nellie xoxo 🌺🌺🌺
@@SuperEwyatt they are also common in people with Asian decent. There’s a lot of factors including genetics that cause a simian line. My son doesn’t have any of what you listed. There are many world leaders and celebrities that also have them. Robert Deniro and Anthony Hopkins are my two fav simian line guys.
Hi Annie-do you apply anything below your eye area before concealer? I’ve bitten the bullet and ordered the Sisley-I am feeling very uneasy(the price)--scared may be a better word🤢. Thanks Annie, 🙂-Lily
As part of my morning routine I always apply an eyecream. I let my skincare set for a half hour or so before applying my makeup. So I eat breakfast, make my bed then I apply my makeup. Use very little, you need the tiniest amount. Then apply it as I showed you and blend well. You're going to love this concealer 💗💗
Until a few years ago I baked. I can't believe I ever thought it looked good! I mean it looked amazing from a mile away, but once you got close...ugh....what was I thinking lol
I've made makeup mistakes too. Contouring, yikes🤣 I saw all these young women doing it so I thought okay. But in everyday light it's not flattering. For stage, absolutely.
It's layering a thick amount of setting powder over foundation. Then it bakes into the skin. It's really for stage makeup. Being under lights and stage those layers set the foundation and keep in on longer. Especially for those that sweat or have extremely oily skin. You'll see some beauty influencers do this. It's totally unnecessary.
I only place concealer in the dark divit in the inner corner area that’s under that puffier area. If I put concealer everywhere under my eyes that’s when I get the creasing and the old crepey look. Plus I don’t need it everywhere. I just want to brighten that divit so it doesn’t look as dark and sunken. I find that if I put concealer everywhere it makes that puffy area look even puffier, which defeats the purpose. So by doing only the divit, my eyes never look dry and crepey, because it’s just my natural skin everywhere except the divit. That make sense?
Which one would you choose between these two products. Hourglass Veil Translucent Setting Powder or Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Flawless Finish Setting Powder?
Hi, I have tried many a concealer, and they all go cakey, I only use a tiny bit with a tiny bit of powder, I have only used high street brands and one is the it cosmetics one, would love to try the sisly but its way out of my price bracket
This topic is such a struggle. By the end of the day no matter what I do it looks crepey and cracked. What do I do. I have your concealers and Charlotte tilbury airbrush. And I still look cracked and crepey. If I use less product by the end of the day my dark circles are exposed. Help! Thank you for a great informative video
I use cereve in am to cleanse. Tea tree oil. Then vitamin c pat it in to skin. Then Charlotte tilbury magic light cream. Then I use an eye cream under my eye for dark circles. Then I either put your Sisley concealer. A tad of color science. Both of these work well. If I go in from here with airbrush or tilbury powder. Immediately my under eye is cracked and dry. I’m using so little that by mid day my dark circles are showing through. However since your recommendation of the Sisley. I will say it’s much better then it used to be. Sometimes I use Lancôme effacernes concealer too. Sorry this is so long.
I finally broke down and bought the CT powder, and that stuff is da bomb! I've purchased 2 supposed dups (No 7 and Flower Beauty) and you are so right that CT is noticeably better. I was kind of expecting to be let down by this product, but it was the complete opposite. When I set with this, it does WONDERS for my crepey undereyes and my large pores on cheeks.
Yes girl💗It's why CT is my holy grail! I haven't found anything like it yet. I tried the No7, as you said it's nothing like CT. I'm done testing dupes. No dupe has ever compared to the original yet. So glad you're enjoying it 💗💗💗
What do you recommend for very sensitive eyes as an eye make up remover I've used so many products but they all leave a trace of oil and irritated eyes
A nice one I recently tried was from Laura Mercier. It wasn't irritating but I can remember if it had an oily residue. But I did enjoy the sample I got. I may have to purchase that one again. Just need to use up the three I currently have open🤣
I wish you had used the same products on both sides with only the Vaseline and eye cream being the difference. Not sure if it was the Vaseline/eye cream that made the difference or the more expensive products you put on the eye cream side that did.
Ladies get the Sisley concealer. It’s a cost up front but it will last for a LONG time . You can’t use too much or it won’t work. You need the size of a micro pea. It works !
@@MakeupForMatureSkin yep...thank you so much! I don't know why Sisley wasn't on my radar before, but I've already recommended it to a friend. Good stuff!!
@@MakeupForMatureSkin I was able to get a set on sale ... I'm guessing it wasn't 4 or 5.. not that I am using these Rephr and Sonia G brushes... what a game changer... Love your demos. Can I buy the seclia(I can't spell.) It's the expensive one. Thank you. Really love your tips and advice.
Thank you so much 💕 I have the Sisley listed in my description 🥰
Thank you Anne!
You're welcome 💖💖💖💖
Great tips!!
💖💖💖
Hey Anne!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Hi Michele!💖💖💖
I’ve been using the kopari stars eye balm under my eyes for a while now and works amazing for me ❤️❤️ I’m 56 lol ohh I also use the hack with the tapping of a setting spray works great!!
That's awesome, so glad you found something that works for you 💗💗💗
Remember back 20 years ago...
Oh no that's too bad. Hope you have a great weekend 💖💖💖💖
@@MakeupForMatureSkin Thank You Kindly and I Hope you have a Great weekend also. 😎😎
Good video, thx
You're welcome 💖💖💖
Thank you for this very helpful. On your palm you have a simian line! My son has that on both palms. Do you have that on both palms?
I have no idea🤣I need to do a search on what that is and means. Is it good, bad?
Simian lines are very common on Down syndrome mosaic syndrome and many other kind of genetic syndromes
What does baking mean?
It's layering a thick amount of setting powder over foundation. Then it bakes into the skin. It's really for stage makeup. Being under lights and stage those layers set the foundation and keep in on longer. Especially for those that sweat or have extremely oily skin. You'll see some beauty influencers do this. It's totally unnecessary.
Hi is your sponge damp or dry when you use it for powder? Thanks!
It's damp. Before I used my sponge I always wash it first. I squeeze out the excess water then I place it in a towel and give it one more squeeze.
Thanks!!
What concealer is your holy grail over 100 dollars? Thx.. great video!!!
Sisley I wear shade #1🥰
Thank you !! You are wonderful!
Yes👍
Which one would you choose between these two products. Hourglass Veil Translucent Setting Powder or Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Flawless Finish Setting Powder?
I haven't tried the veil power so I'll have to choose CT. It's my holy grail powder and has been since it was released. 😊💗
@@MakeupForMatureSkin Thank you!
Hi, I have tried many a concealer, and they all go cakey, I only use a tiny bit with a tiny bit of powder, I have only used high street brands and one is the it cosmetics one, would love to try the sisly but its way out of my price bracket
Lol, well I definitely don’t want to look like a raccoon 🦝!! Great video 💕♥️💗!
Right 😂
This topic is such a struggle. By the end of the day no matter what I do it looks crepey and cracked. What do I do. I have your concealers and Charlotte tilbury airbrush. And I still look cracked and crepey. If I use less product by the end of the day my dark circles are exposed. Help! Thank you for a great informative video
How are you prepping your skin?
So glad you're enjoying it 💗💗💗
What is CT?
Thank you for the great video 👍🏼 Also, once you said nasty ass, you got yourself a new subscriber 😂👏🏼
💕💕💕💕
Great video!!!💕x
Thank you so much 💓
What do you recommend for very sensitive eyes as an eye make up remover I've used so many products but they all leave a trace of oil and irritated eyes
Where did you get the concealer from sicily
I bought my Sisley concealer from Nordstrom.
Sorry, I forgot to say hello and enjoy your hack
💕💕
Ladies get the Sisley concealer. It’s a cost up front but it will last for a LONG time . You can’t use too much or it won’t work. You need the size of a micro pea. It works !
Yes! It's so good 💖💖
I wore just the Sisley concealer to get my hair colored this week. It's so nice and doesn't budge, but doesn't look dry or cakey!
Yay💕💕So glad you're enjoying it.
@@MakeupForMatureSkin yep...thank you so much! I don't know why Sisley wasn't on my radar before, but I've already recommended it to a friend. Good stuff!!
It's overpriced and too powdery
What brand is your powder brush? Thank you! I can actually use an eye oil because it absorbs and I have very dry under eye. Good tips though.
It's from Rephr 🥰💗💗
@@MakeupForMatureSkin I was able to get a set on sale ... I'm guessing it wasn't 4 or 5.. not that I am using these Rephr and Sonia G brushes... what a game changer... The one you used looked perfect for that eye task you illustrated. Thanks again. I will check out the video again tomorrow when I put on concealer before my zoom.
Cecily concealer
Sisley 🥰
Hi Anne, What eye cream did you use? Thanks Deb
I used the Kiehls avocado eye cream. 😘
Tyvm
You're welcome 💖
With shape tape idk why but I get less creasing and caking if I use more 🤷♀️
You're lucky, I haven't experienced that. Thanks so much for sharing 💕💕
I bought the Mac one I haven’t received it yet have you tried that one it’s like A a peachy color and it’s a pen
I haven't tested that one yet.
Nothing works for me so I am considering the sisley. Great video on a subject that has been done to death but never satisfactory
I'm glad this was helpful 💖💖
When you put on your under eye powder with the beauty blender is it damp or dry?
It's damp😊
Do you ever get hard pan on your powder?
No hasn't happened with this power. But oddly it happened with Lancome dual powder. I no longer use that one.
Would jojoba oil be ok for under eye
You can give it a try. I know on me it wouldn't work. But I've had many people share that they use that under concealer without creasing.
@@MakeupForMatureSkin 😊
Thanks, great video, I needed to see this. My concealer skills are poor!
You're welcome 💖
Darn. I really don't see a difference. Both eyes look the same to me. But I agree, too much product never works. I just don't even use undereye concealer anymore.
Girl you need to look closer 🤣there's definitely a difference. But yes the less product that's applied the better.😊💗
Wowser. Phone back again but im pretty poorly. Just my Multiple sclerosis having a field day. Missed a lot, i hate that xxx 🐈💕💞💓🐾🐾
I've been wondering where you were. Hope you're feeling well.❤🐾🐾🐾🐱
I think your just as pretty without makeup....so if you have all that energy to put it on then so be it, but you're beautiful both ways.😉
Thank you so much 💕
Will you for your holy grail products?
I'm sorry I don't understand the question.
@@MakeupForMatureSkin sorry I was typing too fast. Can you do a video on your holy grail skincare?
Yes that video is coming up 😊
