Perfect! I've been looking for a border like this for the bottom of a jacket. I have never been able to come up with my own patterns. I know what I want things to look like, but I just can't make it work.
This is exactly exactly what I wanted. Thank you!

Yes indeed we do enjoy your tutorials!💕🤗💕 And the trip down Memory Lane, watching you crochet a border that we used to do, too!
We worked all the framework rows (Dc,Ch1,Skip1) at the same time. Then we joined the new color & started with the first centermost row of scallops, folding back the extra framework rows as needed. It was easier for us to fold the skimpy framework rows back & out of the way, than to fold the bulkier scallop rows forward & peck for the top loops of the hidden Dc’s in the back. Give it a try! You might like it!💕🤗💕🤗💕

I'm curious as to whether you could do all three rows of the ch 1 double crochet, skip (the purple rows) first and then go back and do the shell rows. Do you think that would work?
This is a very pretty border and it will be a great addition to the baby blankets i make for my local hospital's nursery and NICU.
Thanks so much, Crystal, for doing this tutorial. I will be looking forward to more border tutorials from you.

This could also be a great way for people to add onto a crochet mesh top they made if they no longer love the design, or find it impractical! This would easily make that a much warmer sweater, and you could use it to show off some pretty yarns!
