I liked the 2nd mic for her voice better. It sounds a little bright but with a high roll off and saturation you can get it warm and keep some dynamics. Just my 2 cents.
Thanks for the info and more importantly making it fun to watch/learn. Most videos are so “boring”(for lack of a better word) to watch. I appreciate the vibe of your vid’s as they are more enjoyable to take in. \m/
@@LANDRmusic please make a video on music arrangement & what is need when Like Melody in Intro Drums + melody in verse What is in pre course I don't know how to explain but I think you guys can understand it better
@@ShubhamNagarji that is called structuring(i guess). imo, you should try putting low pass filter on melody in verses, more hype in the chorus and counter melody the chorus. The best and for sure working way to unlock that ability is to listen and analyse more music you hear everyday
Do you gain stage each verse and adlibs individually before each take. Or do you just find the loudest part of the song and gain stage according to that section?
There's a video of her explaining how to mix vocals and they used this vocal take for it, you get to see the whole process That's the video that brought me here :D
I was gonna get the ksm32 to replace my sm7b but glad she pick the sm7b. I like sm27 but my voice just work better with dynamic mic. Sm7b is dynamic mic it doesn’t need a pop filter and is best for non treated room because it only pick up your voice. If u can get a stereo interface or a stereo plug in this mic can sound incredibly better.
This was awesome! Do you have any videos on how to edit your vocals so they sound nice and smooth, for example - what’s the right amount of bass and treble just vocal editing stuff like that? Or maybe how to stack vocals properly? Or maybe just how to get clean sounding vocals. Just a thought!🤔 your content is very helpful and I really appreciate all the hard work you all put in to make such brilliant and entertaining videos. 😊
Hi, very helpful video. Do you add reverb and compression and other things to the vocals when recording? I find that I get slightly confused when recording and my voice sounds so different without reverb.
Thanks Eugene. Most modern recordings are definitely done in sections. Next week you'll be able to see Isabelle mix this song, and she'll show how she organizes all of the recorded material 😀
Another reason is because different sections need different audio levels / processing (think a chorus is louder than a verse, especially when belting is involved)
Hi there, that was fun, thanks! Mind sharing why you chose to keep the vocals between -18 and -10. What level do you go for on the other instruments. And the final mix? I suspect there’s a video out there that answers all this.
Also a lot of plugins, analog emulations especially work best with an input signal of around that -18 range. (Not -18 peaks, but average volume, usually a separate indicator in the monitoring bar).
the engineer’s headphones are plugged into the audio interface. the vocalist’s headphones are most likely plugged into a headphone amp which is connected to the audio interface (since they’re in separate rooms)
Good Morning ma'am, I want to record my poetry in professional quality. Please Suggest me Good Microphine and audio Interface...my budget is $300 . But my room is not sound proof
Sorry but very respectfully I have to point out that the dog on the video for sure does not need the clothing, if it's warm inside it may be even very harmfull. Dogs don't feel cold as humans, they heartbeat is different, their body is different, the way they sense temperature is completely different. If you feel cold, it does not mean that your dog feels cold too

I liked the SM7B better, it's all about preference isn't it...
Me too....I would have gone with that....think that mic is good for soft voices
I felt that the SM27 had a much more 'open' 'airy' sound. The SM7B had a bit of a 'blanket' thrown over the clarity.
You two are amazing, love that vibe
Thanks Moc' Tar!

This is the video I was looking for for a long time. How to properly record vocal. Thanks so much.
Learned a new term, "punching in" :) Didn't realize I had been doing that, great stuff! Also cool to actually hear the distinctions in the mics!
hi .. this was awesome .. how i can listen to the final song? pls share the link .. thnx
Incredibly useful guide for home recording. Thank you!

This is a fun video. I’d like to hear how the final track turned out though. Maybe even a run through of the processing.

in another video you told to keep between -12 and -6 dB. Which one to follow?
I learnt something today thanks 👍 was fun watching
Love the end hahahahaha
Thanks for watching
Could y'all make a video on working with artists over long distance

What’s the best sethings for vocal recording with the Shure sm7b mic ? I mean the bass roll off etc
How do you set up completely? I can’t find any videos on all of RUclips about it 😣

Great video ! Both artists are awesome ! 👍

Wow that was amazing. I didn't know music was recorded sections? And why is that? Could it also be recorded in one piece?
Thanks Eugene. Most modern recordings are definitely done in sections. Next week you'll be able to see Isabelle mix this song, and she'll show how she organizes all of the recorded material 😀
@@LANDRmusic Great. So mixing is when all the recorded sections are put together?
You can do it all in one but people like it to be perfect so it's easier to do it in parts
Because if you make a mistake, you'd have to restart at the beginning. This is called recording "live off the floor", and it's a lot of work!
Another reason is because different sections need different audio levels / processing (think a chorus is louder than a verse, especially when belting is involved)
Awesome mixing & Singing 👍👍
Very nice work!!
Cool, funny, informative, professional! 👍🏻👏🏻💪🏻
Averaging -18dB in, no pop filter even to set a consistent mouth distance, you're playing with fire!
What?
Is this Wong
The SM7B has a pop filter on it already. No need for a second one haha
Damn, Peggy ))
also that sound at 10:30 has strong similarity to Tommy Genesis in ROUGH 7 track with Jpegmafia
Peggy is awesome
Hi there, that was fun, thanks! Mind sharing why you chose to keep the vocals between -18 and -10. What level do you go for on the other instruments. And the final mix? I suspect there’s a video out there that answers all this.
It's so that the mic doesn't clip the audio as well as have headroom for the mixing / mastering phase.
Also a lot of plugins, analog emulations especially work best with an input signal of around that -18 range. (Not -18 peaks, but average volume, usually a separate indicator in the monitoring bar).
Is this fun song available to hear anywhere?
Where can I listen to Peggy song?
The ksm Is a great mic but she needs more proximity on the mic for rapping AND Select the second opción on the mic
learning and enjoying.. much more the fun part 10:20-10:44..hehhe. thanks you.. it helps a lot.
Glad you enjoyed it!

No one took the pup's opinion on the mic. He seems wise. 🤣
what' the breed of that grey bubbly?
It's funny she picked that mic because it made her sound like Michael Jackson because the SM7 is the microphone he used to record the Thriller album
what is the dog doing in the studio.
there seems to be a baby substitute for this young woman. ^^
She's lucky the singer didn't burp during the recordings
😂😂😂😂😂
Ah😂
Mic changes everything... remember that
Why not use a small diaphragm condensor? For female vocals its often the best.
Just use one mic and put the song out 🎉
No pop-filter?
Filter’s already on the mic
