I have heard stories of the Laurie brothers in the family, Tom, Jack, George of Tanami and their sister Kate Annie who married a Clay and settled into apple farming in Donnybrook. I'm very proud to be a descendent of theirs.
Great figures of their times, especially Tom, wish I had got to meet him.

Good one Graeme. Thankyou. Much enjoyed and loved the old pics.
I try to imagine the thrill experienced by the early prospectors finding a nugget and then seeing gold laying around every where. What a marvelous era to have lived in.
So many untold stories of so many holes I have found in Victoria.
Australia has such a "rich history".

Wow the true goldmining stories are the most amazing stories of a golden era. Plenty of positive and negative lifestyles going on in an era that will never repeat itself on planet 🌎 nice doc

Great retelling of the gold rush days. Telling it as it was, which is history...not covering it up which is not history

You missed one of the most important gold fields lambing flat. Not just for the gold but also for the massacres, the reading of the riot act and the major reason for the white Australia act.
