"I could pull this steering wheel..." and crash and die and end all these thoughts once and for all.
Listen to Jumpsuit then Nico and The Niners then Levitate in order, its great
You'll love "Ode to Sleep" man. It's a great song but the video also illustrates their journey as artists from day 1 to present time. High key inspirational ish
This
Absolutely! BP must do this next!!!!!
Yes! Do the official video!
Such a great song, I second this!
In every reaction video of his to 21pilots I wrote a comment for his to check it out. the video clip ofcourse
Dope reaction, man, I’m loving these! Let’s go 20k+ so we can get more 😁
Your insights are fire! ❤
Need to react to 21 Pilots "Cancer"
As for this song, Silence kills. Distraction keeps you from see whats gonna kill ya. The longer the distraction the more likely you are to off yourself when the silence hits. Because someday somewhere the Silence will hit. I have PTSD, acquired from where im from, from who raised me. The distraction feels amazing, till its not there. All you got is your mind, memories, regrets, and a 50 foot hole in the ground where you been the whole time but never cared to see. I was born in 1980, I am 43 and as of the past 6 years i have been doing my best with what i got to dig out. But i got to tell you. I still unfortunately allow myself to get distracted by, entertainment, hobbies, life's anxieties, and such to the point where they drown out reality. Then I wake up to the silence and realize shit, Shit, SHIT i am at the bottom of the god damned hole and i gotta start all over. I havent made it out yet, but each time i fall and get back up and do the work, i get a little closer to the surface. All thanks to my amazing wife and God himself. Cause i would already be 6 feet if it wasnt for their hard work. I just hope i make it before the hole collapses. I feel this song man. Good choice.
so Josh was supposed to have his mask on too you can see it.. but he was playing the synth and he was rushing back to his drum set and if he was to put the mask on he wouldnt of been ble to come in with drums on time... and obv they couldnt re do it lol
there's a video for this song btw- and hey i hit the like button so now you owe me an obscure beastie boys song that's only two min long and i promise you not a one person has reacted to- it's called tadlocks glasses- pretty please
"Sometimes Quiet is Violent"
As someone who deals with anxiety on the daily this single line right here hits me like a sledgehammer.
Same
Honestly this whole song feels like a panic attack when you have anxiety and depression. Negative slow talk leads to a rising feeling and it feels like everything is moving faster to him screaming and basically boiling over before he crashes back into depression
The Mask is the most important part of the video. Even as famous as he is and as big as the band is, those dark thoughts exist and creep in constantly, and he has to put on a mask to hide them when going out on stage for his fans in a big sold out venue. Another temporary escape, just like listening to the radio in your car vs. sitting in that silence and facing the thoughts head on
TOP is the only band I love every single song they have ever made. They are next level.
The way I interpret it is that he used music as a distraction to hide from his dark thoughts, but when the music got taken away, there’s no distraction anymore, so he’s forced to deal with the darkness in his head
Exactky
The 'I could pull the steering wheel' hits so hard about the intrusive thoughts. Ugh genius.
Love your reactions!!! Tyler’s radio got stolen While in college, so it’s a true story. The head shaving took place at real concert, and he got whole crowd to sit still for the explosive moment. His crowd control is amazing(see lane boy video). Also, as you can imagine, this song live at their concerts is TOTALLY AMAZING!!!. You’re correct about inner thoughts and having to deal with them. Cool part when he says, “sometimes quiet is violent” his mouth doesn’t move!!! Guns for hands or holding onto you or Ode to sleep(all from same album as Car Radio, Vessel, and all deal with deeper mental issues and even taking our own lives) if not those, then Lane Boy will leave you asking yourself WTF kind of genre is this, but in such a cool way it takes shots at the whole music industry as a whole but it’s so epic.. enjoy the music bro, we’re here for it as well
I think you'd really love their song and video "Migraine". One of my absolute favorite. You'd love his rhyming in that one!
Migraine is fantastic!
I think "Car Radio" strongly resonates from the get to people who suffer from mental health illnesses or have thought of pulling the steering wheel on their own life. It can feel like "quiet is violent." What I like about this song is the next verse where Tyler is dying for you to stay alive and think rather than sleep. People suffering clinical depression knows what it feels like to have no desire other than to sleep. The desire for rest, for recuperation is so strong, but what you usually get is insomnia. Ren's "Insomnia" conveys this poignantly.
BP, check out TØP's "Lane Boy" and "Heavydirtysoul." You'll love them.
This is why I sent you the list of the order on their videos, the tattoos aren't real. the darkness covers his throat and his hands, which are where his music comes from. It happens in parts of songs and videos when his insecurities, inner demons, society, industry etc are trying to take away his music. They have a built in story line for their songs and videos that all make more sense if you follow the story line. Even as these songs were released, their webpage had clues and fake 404 errors that had codes in them that told the next song they were releasing, their album covers have hidden maps etc.
Yea , i don’t have the discipline to follow the lists hahah. I go down random rabbit holes. I should have followed the list for NF too lol
@@BlackPegasusRaps bro fuck it you’re doing your thing and your confusion makes it dope too! You’re breaking them down amazingly!
If you want rap I'd recommend checking out their song 'Levitate' from their last album or Ode to sleep / Migraine
Totally agree, Tyler’s rapping on Levitate is next level! Great track!
He will want to watch the first two songs of the Trench Trilogy (Jumpsuit / Nico and the Niners) before watching Levitate.
Holy fuuudge it was awesome seeing you react to this song, I've seen those guys live 3 times and let me tell ya, you are in for a treat going down down the twenty øne piløts rabbit hole. Look so much forward to when you react to some of their live stuff ❤ Lets goooo, TØP and REN!
Welcome to Twenty One Pilots brother man. They are amazing, and a blast to see live. I recommend Trees live at the Fox Theatre.
Great reaction!!! “Lane Boy” and “Guns for Hands” would be Great to check out!!
Both are must watchs!
Twenty One Pilots and Ren my favorites ❤❤❤
Absolutely with you ❤❤❤
💯
This is me as well. I wasn't sure there was anyone else who liked these 2 equally
This is one of the most popular songs with the fanbase - you got the meaning of the song - it was actually inspired by Tyler getting his Car Radio stolen in college but the song is more about what that represented to him - he no longer had that thing in his life that distracted him from his problems - so everyone's "Car Radio" is something different
I think his hair being back at the end represents that he's still that same nervous guy from the beginning when he takes the mask off
If you want to see more of his rap skills you definitely need to check out "lane boy" it's a great song that deals a lot with the problems with being a hit and actually doing the art you want
i love this reaction so much haha
In a world that completely revolves around all types of music, the two songs I’m most grateful for ever finding is Ren - Hi Ren and Car Radio by Twenty One Pilots. What I’m trying to say is thanks for doing this reaction P 🤙
I love seeing the overlap between the Ren fans (RENegades) and TØP fans (Clique)! Easily my two favorite artists ❤
Ren and 21 Pilots collaboration would be so fucking amazing. One can only imagine
Im one of the Ren and friends lovers. But i also love 21 pilots. Ive been into them for like 4 or 5 years now. Those two boys can make some really cool ass songs. Suoer dope if you will BP. So keeo listening to their catalogue its pretty amazing
TOP xx MM. Twenty One Pilots and Mutemath collab. AMAZING.
I discovered you and subscribed to you because of Ren, which is still such an amazing adventure. Now that you've started your journey down the Twenty one Pilots rabbit hole is an absolutely brilliant bonus. Thanks for an excellent reaction. Looking forward to many more. (Like Fairly Local 😉)
Great job on the lyrics for a first listen. The lyrics are genius. My daughter loves this band, and when she was a teen, she would play them in my car all the time. This is the first song that really impressed me and spoke to me. Music has always been an escape for me, and my car radio, literally, has saved me from a 36 year commute to and from work. lol. Though Tyler's car radio was actually stolen, he uses it to describe his mind and his music. When the crowd, in the video, carry Tyler back to the stage, to me, that is the fans putting their car radio back to perform for us. The ending, I believe his hair is back to show that this whole thing happened in his mind. His scream shows how the silence/overthinking can be maddening. I feel his pain as he screams. Powerful song.
You should do a reaction video where you do 21 pilots and Ren doing Elvis song I Can't Help Falling In Love With You. They're both good as hell covers and both are indicative of who they are
Ooohhh. This would be wonderful!
I had heard songs by 21 Pilots but didn't know them, then they performed at Pinkpop 2022 and that shows was crazy.
I was there for Floor Jansen Solo, Nightwish and Metallica, but men 21 Pilots is a must see.
That’s exactly how I came across tøp years ago! I was at a festival in the UK and the weather was awful so I stepped into a tent to stay dry, just so happened tøp were playing!
It was fairly early in their career so weren’t playing main stages yet! I was blown away! My usual genre of choice is hiphop but tøp are so impressive, especially live, they’re on regular rotation on my playlists! Lol!
@@scottishemmaa2457 how cool is that, at Pinkpop it was above 30 Celsius
Great way to find great music
Here for your TØP, exceptional reactions.
TØP is my all time favorite. Live shows are unreal to be at. Another great fan community to be a part of
Twenty One Pilots - Heavy Dirty Soul... i believe you'll enjoy that, good rap section
My fear of losing my car radio once again is bigger than my fear of death❤😂
As a 40+ year old guy TØP are one of my favorite bands in a long time. They are deep and have so much musical talent. This song is my favorite of theirs.
There are no wrong interpretations when listening to TØP. Tyler intentionally writes in a way that the lyrics can be interpreted in a way most meaningful to whoever is listening.
His car radio was actually stolen in college and it left him alone with his thoughts, which was a dangerous place to be (“sometimes quiet is violent”), but he continues to use the car as a metaphor. This is one of their early songs but is still an important part of their live shows.
I think you should do either “Lane Boy” or “Migraine” next.
Love that you are being exposed to these different artists that are not in your regular sphere of experience. Loved these guys for years , like Ren they are making artistic statements that resonate with people. Keep expanding your horizons. Good analysis too
You touched on a lot of great intricacies of Twenty One Pilots; rap, synth, drums, screams…he also plays ukulele. You should watch “Guns for Hands”, there’s a quick anecdote about the masks saying, “they won’t know it’s you” and “you can take it off when you’re ready”. Glad you found ‘em, welcome to the skeleton clique!
literally one of my fave ever songs. Thanks for doing this one BP.
Ode to sleep, Migraine, message man, and trap door are some of my favorites!
Lane boy, ode to sleep, trees live at fox theatre, migraine are all must
He's the car, and the radio is his internal voice/ self-worth, and he feels as though someone stole it (also self guilt over allowing someone to have enough power over him for that to happen).
I respect your interpretation of the song ❤... Oh and those black marks on his hands and neck those aren't tattoos. That's just like paint or something. It's supposed to represent something. I honestly can't remember what it fully represents. But now that i've made this comment, i'm sure someone will inform you of what it actually means. Loving your reactions hoping you do Ode to Sleep next.
I love how Tyler can sound many different ways! He’s gonna surprise you with how different he can sound. No song sounds the same with these guys! Morph is SUCH A VIBE!
You nailed it! The rabbit hole is well worth it with TOP. The beauty of Tyler's lyricism is that there is room for so many interpretations. Love what you said about art and how you interpret it, so true. Some context around TOP, their themes deal with that introspection around self doubt, anxiety, overcoming personal demons, and balance. Always finding the balance no matter the heavy topic. Everything they do is full of substance and sustenance. Their layers have layers. I know you're going to love their catalog. You get it. And theirs are messages worth getting. Extremely inspirational to so very, very many. Excited to watch your journey!
Been watching you a while and def elated you're on to TOP now. They're the reason I watch reaction vids in the first place. Really like your original content, too :) I would suggest Lane Boy (ur def gonna like their take on the music industry in this one!), Migraine, and Ode to Sleep for next vids.
And yeah, there's a reason you've likely heard Stressed Out in Chipotle! Hahaha, Google twenty one pilots and Chipotle sometime! 😂
Let's go! |-// 💛
Okay so the mask is about wanting their art to be about the music they're making, the lyrics they're writing and not about their faces.
Also fun fact: Tyler only "raps" because that's the way he can fit more words into a song.
And the shaving of the hair is because Tyler once said his hair represents his vanity that he gets caught up in and so if he catches himself getting caught up in vanity he will shave his head to reset and start focusing on the important things again
And just quickly about the eating bugs and synthetic meat: I think people are just so against it because they don't know it yet. Bugs are a delicacy in other parts of the world and have been for a long time. And if I were to eat meat I would love the move to synthetic meats because why kill animals for our enjoyment (and yes that's all it is, we can eat a complete and healthy diet without any animal products) if they don't have to die. And this is in no way meant to offend anyone eating meat. I've been eating meat for the biggest part of my life until someone took me on the hand and explained things to me, taught me how to cook really really nice food without animal products. I in no way know everything but once you actually and honestly question why you do or don't do certain things you stop going through your life with blinders. Like why do we think we need to drink milk? Because the dairy industry says it's good for us but if we take the calcium they add to their dairy milk and just add it to the plant milk that's that problem solved and you won't have to drink puss from infected udders
I adore these boys so much!! Levitate if ive not already said it!
But also, you sang a few oooh, ohohohoh!
You can sing, just don’t know how much you can - or you don’t see my to with what I’ve heard you say about it. ❤❤
GUNS FOR HANDS NEXT PRETTY PLEASE 🙏 ❤️
You should watch one of their live performances next. Tyler has a habit of climbing things😂
The ink is temporary. It symbolizes his insecurities. The neck, insecurities about his voice. The hands, insecurities about what he writes.
The people need to wake up. We do. And to think this came out nearly 10 years ago. The people controlling the narrative did a good job at hiding the songs. Or at least not letting them get as much recognition.
Trench album- levitate!!
Or morph, or anything for that album- all gold xxx
All of Vessel album...ones if those albums that can be played start to finish. Im 40yrs old so im qualified.
Yes, i agree with you the radio is a metaphor. Definitely no wrong interpretation. For me, the car radio is his happiness. This song is amazing live. We all sing woah ohoh oh oh. It's so beautiful, and moving.
Please keep going down the TOP rabbit hole.
Please do “Holding On To You”! Studio version first then Live version 🙌
Sage Francis is a beast! Just had to say that
If you were stuck in traffic alone with no music or radio to listen to, you be left with only your thoughts to listen to. That can be a very shitty experience for a lot of people.
You are 100% correct in both of your statements. 😁
I love seeing anybody try to down 21 pilots- chlorine song. 21 pilots songs are full of deep meanings.
I took the lyrics as the car radio was a distraction that was taken away. And now you are forced to sit in silence. Like if your job or family or drugs was a distraction from life, you put your soul and energy into it, its what defined you. And then that is taken away and now you have to evaluate who you are as a person, and maybe you dont like what you see.
Never realised how close to sage or b Dolan this actually sounds until you mentioned it love the comparison. Would love to see some sage or brother Ali up on here. Also loving the original content too. Keep it up.
This is my favorite 21 song. I'm so happy you did this one next.
Love this band. Glad you are finally hearing their songs…
LANE BOY! ODE TO SLEEP! GUNS FOR HANDS! MORPH! Let’s Goooooo!
You need to do Addict with a pen UG sessions version its probably one of the most emotional performances!
I see the car radio as a distraction from the thoughts in your head.. without the music the bad thoughts takes over.. ode to sleep is a wonderful video and great for getting into them
You are absolutely killing me!!!!! I just don't understand how you have missed SO MUCH GrREAT MUSIC!!! I know I missed a lot but damn!!! Better late than ever
Never heard this one but it's pretty dark. silence is violence... so sad
NO ONE can steal your joy unless you let them
NO ONE can bring me down... use to be my war cry but I don't
Actually, I am feeling it 100 but I am hopeless & I don't understand how this happened... I'm terrified & I have always been going on for awhile now. I can no longer see the light anymore
size has nada to wth it.... k, the rare occasion 🤣🤣
One of my all time favorite light weight hoodies I got from a H&M in Houston..
Great song. In NF's song my stress he puts a TOP shout out in there. 21 pilots made a an appearance at NF's first show in Columbus. Both parties put out Real Music and that's why I love them both. Great reaction as always.
Pleeease 'Lane Boy' next🤞🤞
So many layers to their art, they often won’t give meanings of their songs to allow for personal interpretation.
Whats up Black P. I love Twenty- One Pilots
ODE TO SLEEP, sorry I'm screaming 😂❤
"Trees" live at the Fox theater is an epic one. Their live performance is a whole other level. And everything is a symbol or means something. Much love.
That’s most favourite line not just from TOP but of all time
Sometimes quite is violent
Black Pegasus's you were 100% on this one
If you like this song, I have 3 recommendations for you.
First, Migraine from this same album, Vessel.
Second, Kitchen Sink from their unreleased album Regional at Best.
Finally, the AJR song The Entertainment's Here - totally different vibe, but similar deep message.
Also do the TOPxMM version of Lane Boy
They are so unique as artists and this literilly sums up how they are literilly one of a kind!❤
Another band that speaks deep is system of down
Lane Boy
Yay! I've been waiting for this one! My fave from them!
Twenty one pilots - Lane boy is my favorite!
Since someone stole his radio he no longer has the music to distract him he is left having to confront his own thoughts.
Keep reacting to TOP they are amazing artists
Next you should do Ode to Sleep. You'll love that one!
Mr. Black P you really nailed this one❤
Thank you for being one of the only reactors to realize that the care radio is not literal and is mental.
You're so fuq'n right, he writes his own and makes his own beats and music.!!!!!!! Keep going with them, they will never disappoint but drive you for more. Twenty One Pilots all the way.
So Car Radio is a bit literal in this, when he was in collage his car radio was stolen and he was forced to endure his own mind without distractions. Seeing as he was suicidal at the time, it was not necessarily a good thing. hence the 'silence is violent' and 'I could pull the steering wheel'. But that is one of the things I love about T0P is that their songs can be interpreted in so many ways.
Songs I love that doesn't make to many view request lists is Implicit Demand for Proof and The Isle of Flightless Birds. The first and last songs on their self titled album.
I really think you would like Fairly Local.
Would love you to do 21 pilots - fall away
really enjoyed this vid! :)
Ode to sleep is a great song by these guys.
Maybe the car radio was his innocence
I think youre interpretation of this song is great. This song is amazing and really makes you think ❤
Mic Righteous next please
You can hold a W on that interpretation
This is my absolute favorite track from TØP. This is the first song from them I ever heard thanks to my friend Jimmy back in high school. Also, if you wanna hear him RAP, try "Lane Boy" or "HeavyDirtySoul"
Also, last update to this comment (I swear😂😂) But you talking about how massively popular they are and how they're simultaneously singing about real issues makes me sad because they stopped that entirely. Their new album Scaled & Icy is fucking TERRIBLE. It's extremely obvious in how their new music sounds, they stopped caring about the original fans and started making over-produced generic radio garbage. They were my favorite band for so long, they're a huge part of the reason I found my girlfriend and now have a son
That was the whole point of the last album. But the meanings are still in there, just have to look beyond the surface. Kinda like how we hide from reality sometimes. 💛, fren |-/
You will unfortunately never get it unless you actually listen and go back with them. It's a concept you have to go back on and pay attention too, they are deeper then you may think. Go back on your own and listen to them. You'll understand more!. Love the reaction ❤
This is my favorite top song ❤
Migraine and Ode to Sleep are next
Ode to sleep or migraine are elite
