Ah, such incredible rigid thinking from Crazed. Maybe it was some kind of extreme fatigue, but uh. It felt like he built that paragon and had no idea what to do with it.
That was an amazing game for sure. Crazed did amazing and all, but there is no excuse for not dealing with those two fleets. He had the radar, he couldve build a ton of Optic Facilities. He couldve nuked the hell out of those two fleets and the army team 1 amassed at the end.
I may not be a faf player, but these always remind me of the lessons of history: artillery doesn't win wars, bombing doesn't win wars, nukes don't win wars.
they do, if you know what to target. this game felt like toddlers tossing plastic bricks trying to hit anything. no matter how much you have of something, it doesn't do any good if you don't know how to use it.
So many times in that game, I could just picture Marvin the Martian watching Team 1 attacking the Paragon and going, "Where's the kaboom? Where's the Earth-shattering kaboom?!"
All crazed needed to do was stall with the torp bombers whilst building a seraphim naval yard (engie could be given by aulex) and start pumping out his own sub hunters, he had the best Eco and could have saved the game
***** Thanks for the info! I always had a thing for sci-fi RTS. Currently tackling Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War: Dark Crusade (more micro-intensive rather than macro). I'm no pro but I might upload Eldar guides soon on my channel. Thanks for supporting the Supreme Commander community with your videos man. I've both games (the first ones) in my Steam library. I heard Supreme Commander 2 angered a lot of the SC vets. Is that true?
Imbacore It certainly is. Essentially Supcom 2 was a massively dumbed down version of supcom and hence it earned itself the niickname supreme command and conquer 2.
that was a beautiful dance up until the end, if they'd have managed to take out the navies the game would have easily been in team2's favor, however, they were trying to do more eco and build capacity damage, which, while it WAS a valid strategy, just wasn't the right time for said strategy. Clearing the seas would have been infinitely more effective, fire off some nukes at the naval nightmare, and follow it up with possible static defense and a re-emergence of some nice t3 naval units. use nukes as a deterrent to the enemy swarming, and you'd have had them doing the turtling. HOWEVER: this was one of the most epic battles i've seen to date ^_^ keep up the good work gyle, and the rest of the awesome people who submit replays, You make things more entertaining for me. it's nice to see good tactical warfare from time to time. keep it up! :)
Awesome game - and a deserved win for the right team. This match set a new standard for "Epic" for sure! As for the nukes, yeah - what a waste; cleaning out those fleets should have been a much higher priority... Hindsight, and all that, I guess.
WTF is team2 doing???? what does aulex uses the paragon for???? why doesnt crazed built a third paragon for stryker which has some build capacity? Why dont they nuke the team1-fleets? i am not finished watching this game, but if team 2 looses = bad played
Cameron Palmer Yeah, first time in a very "good" spot LOL. Really, those with paragons played the last part of the game like a pack of dumbasses. Instead of killing the navy and making more anti-nukes they invested in useless artillery which killed just a bunch of non-important buildings
When you have a paragon, why are you being out-produced? First: Start building a second paragon. Second: Start spewing MASSIVE amounts of build power (sACU's and Cybran Hives). Third: Build 20-30 factories around your side of the map. 100 restorers, sent down the land bridge - ignore the navy if you must, but at least go hit the enemy mass. As Gyle said, poor late-game play from some of these players.
wow... Gyle ive been watching your videos on FA for several months now and like them all, especialy the setun's ones. but that one is by far probly the most epic. 3 paragons? wtf?? lol XD. btw, excellent commentary on the games, you are my favorite out of all commentaries. youre very friendly and relaxing to listen to, yet still very professional. good blend. keep up the great work!
This was so painful to watch. So much endgame potential squandered! Easy to say as a spectator yeah but I still don't understand the thinking on those nukes.
To be fair I was super frustrated with team 2's performance until the same kind of thing happened to me during a Gap of Rohan game a couple weeks ago. Our team ended up building 3 paragons, one for each surviving team member but we still got overwhelmed. Paragons are not game enders by themselves, paragons + a shit ton of build capacity and a good strategy are game enders. We made the same mistake, tried to go for the kill by building nukes and arty but got rolled before we could use them. We only had about 5 minutes with the paras though before we died.
Killer game! It's interesting to see how the "TA-Brain-Freeze" affects even some of the better players. This game is SO much better than any other RTS out there.
I wouldn't suggest that so soon, when something like RVE is nearing completion The Revamp Expansion Mod, for Supreme Commander 2, it basically is FA with a graphical upgrade and slight changes in the UI
Indeed, the turtle team made several key mistakes: - started building those useless t4 arty when they should have build t4 nukes; - forgot their perimeter air defence AND did not nuke navy; - gave extra para to pink instead of white guy first; - concentrate more on securing medium range defence with the attach and then continue attack to the other side; Anyway good game and yeah, i wish somebody somehow rebuild engine to run more smoothly on larger 4v4 games. That would be so much more fun.
Leaving that teal navy alone for so long... why? I get that they have fog of war and can't see the buffet of free nuke kills just sitting there, but come on. Crush the offense; make them fall back. Can always worry about their infrastructure when you're not completely cornered.
Two reasons: concentration and desperation. Playing a good match will consume your concentration devastatingly quickly. Being desperate and at a loss of concentration makes you want to end it quickly. Killing infrastructure usually means crippling your opponent's production power. Killing their navy wastes them a bunch of time, but it doesn't guarantee a cripple. It can *hopefully* give you a advantage in time, but that isn't 100% guaranteed.
***** im not good at sup com, im not stupid im just not that good at strategy games. I've tried and the learning curve is really steep, i learned the hard way. ps: i got this game because of your casts :)
That so hard. I flat-out don't know how anyone in their right mind would have not nuked those fleets. It's simple strategic math: "What does the enemy have that can kill me? Oh, those fleets! And I have nukes! Goodbye, navy!"
Crazed Chariots thought: "Oh, so there's two armies on my doorstep. NUKE THE COMMANDERS! Even though they have nuke Defense!". Stupid, stupid, stupid... Arghh.
I will have to side with you on that one, i have never seen worse target prioritisation for nukes than that. Even though we can see everything, he would have had to know what was on the shores.
I usually play this game on LAN with 7+ friends, first time I rolled into it I had only played Total Annihilation and got pretty much wrecked. LAN after that, after watching these videos for months I wrecked everyone (= (with close to no additional practice beside a couple of bot games) These (and TA4life's) casts are amazing (=
Seraphim navy is pretty good with its long range high damage cruisers and as coverage, t3 sub hunters are the best as well. Sure aons navy has high damage turrets but they can e avoided with good micro compared to the seraphim a direct beam destroyer able to submerge and avoid the turret fire as well, leaving only the sun hunters able to compete against them, navy wise that is for aon.
i just found this channel and i love strategy games was wondering which supreme commander is this the forged alliance? cuz im interested in joining the community
Welcome and yes, this is Supreme Commander; Forged Alliance, NOT Supreme Commander 2. Don't forget to install the FAF multilayer client which can be found in the video description. Look forward to seeing you online.
***** amazing ill get the gamr right away but i was wondering about where can i learn the basics or maybe some advanced tactics since u mentioned that theres like 3 tiers of units :)
I think ILIKETA is pronounced I-LIKE-T-A, not ILL-I-KET-A. Of course I'm not the one doing the replay and ILL-I-KET-A does roll off the tongue better than I-LIKE-T-A. Either way I do enjoy these replays from Gyle. Please keep them coming!
Abandoning the naval game went some way towards their loss. Getting two paragons up was amazing, but as good as Crazed is, he really could have been waaay better with the targeting of those nukes.
1:01:30 - "Ooooh He's just got divorced and lost the wife, the house, the kids, the dogs... EVERYTHING! He's penniless, on the street with an enormous alimony bill to pay." - PMSL!
His computer wasn't fast enough to run the replay in real time with so many units and bullets filling the map. That's why it ran at half speed and took twice as long.
Biggest complaint I have with that wreckage thing. Been a while since I played. But ai or not, by the time it is killed. The wreckage levels the defenses. Realistic I guess but highly annoying. Its like having two weapons in one.
I think it is hilarious. Though it's very inefficient regarding constructionmass-damage-reclaim and the damage from the wreckage is so low, it is a non-strategy.
Its an additional benefit in attacking. That's all I mean. When playing the air they have destroyed my well shield bases with just debris. In Lou of the defensive turrets and such.
Well I tend to turtle a bit, but shields should act like shields. In any case I have been working on competitive play. It seems to take a different pace than my normal style.
Ah, such incredible rigid thinking from Crazed. Maybe it was some kind of extreme fatigue, but uh. It felt like he built that paragon and had no idea what to do with it.
He is like playin with one hand and drinking vodka right from the bottle in other hand
That was an amazing game for sure. Crazed did amazing and all, but there is no excuse for not dealing with those two fleets. He had the radar, he couldve build a ton of Optic Facilities. He couldve nuked the hell out of those two fleets and the army team 1 amassed at the end.

I've watched many of your casts Gyle and it still amazes me how even just Joe's eco up and get so many combat units/point defense up so damn quickly!
THE HOUSE TOOK THE WIFE, THE KIDS, THE DOG
WHY DIDNT HE NUKE THE NAVY!! I WAS YELLING MY ASS OFF "NUKE THE NAVY!!!!!"
All crazed needed to do was stall with the torp bombers whilst building a seraphim naval yard (engie could be given by aulex) and start pumping out his own sub hunters, he had the best Eco and could have saved the game
What was Crazed even thinking...?
Felt like Crazed was afk half the game watching videos on youtube
First rule of Paragons: When you build a paragon, defend it! Second rule: mass support commanders
And build second Paragon.
Liked! Anyone still playing this?
Lots and Lots of peeps still playing this. Download the FAF client in the video description and see for yourself.

***** "supreme command and conquer 2" Haha! Good one! Shame though that it didn't live up to its predecessors.
FAF is dead :(
I'll be honest...i'm kind of a noobish player but thanks to you and your utmost entertaining commentries i'm learning quick and a lot.
Thank you

Gyle's infamous " at all" @ 1:00:29 lol you say it a lot Gyle..you're da man!
"I don't know if its gonna be an epic"
Two hours later.....:D
Awesome game - and a deserved win for the right team. This match set a new standard for "Epic" for sure!

This is unbelievable game guys. Thank you!

He was trying to build a exp nuke launcher
Cameron Palmer Yeah, first time in a very "good" spot LOL. Really, those with paragons played the last part of the game like a pack of dumbasses. Instead of killing the navy and making more anti-nukes they invested in useless artillery which killed just a bunch of non-important buildings
Amazing. Best game I've seen yet. That close save with the antinuke over the Para was crazy, yo.

Exactly!
2 hours Seton's match? Thank you based Gyle

"the house took the wife, the kids, the dogs" that damn house!
"I'm hoping it's not one that's exposed to serious danger."
-- Gyle, on Astro's 90% done nuke battleship as it was sinking.

"A fairy dies of terminal hemoroids." - Gyle, 2013.
This game seriously put me on the edge of my seat.
I like to think that somewhere in the Alpha Quadrant Captain Picard is shaking his head and burying his face in his palms.
This was so painful to watch. So much endgame potential squandered! Easy to say as a spectator yeah but I still don't understand the thinking on those nukes.
(13.10) "Somewhere; a fairy has Died of Terminal hemorrhoids - it'sa Real Shame"
Heh,
I now have Tea up my nose because of that.
great cast! literally breathless for half of it!
such an epic game .. holy shit .. so awesome .. great cast gyle .. great cast
Paragons the most surprising thing ever to get finished in a game
31:21 Deja Vu! ♫
i rly think that crazed just fucked up everything in the end...
To be fair I was super frustrated with team 2's performance until the same kind of thing happened to me during a Gap of Rohan game a couple weeks ago. When I saw the amount of ads, I was like"HOLY SHIT!". 😝
I really don't have time to spend 2 hours watching a replay, but how can I resist? Let the good times roll.
Killer game! It's interesting to see how the "TA-Brain-Freeze" affects even some of the better players. This game is SO much better than any other RTS out there.
1:36:28 This is the most excited I've ever been in any cast up until now.
I really want to see the paragon to be finished. Never seen one in your cast before.
Awesome Battle
Hey, gonna start watching the video now, but just wanted to ask you if you ever thought of streaming? I think this would be awesome! Thanx ;)
you are legit the funniest commentator some times, that lucy comment was hilarious
1:01:33 House took the wife?
I wouldn't suggest that so soon, when something like RVE is nearing completion

I swear Gyle... I ate my whole dinner and desert watching this
good match by the way
i wish you could transfer the changes made in faf to the steam launched version of the game
Why not just play on FAF?
***** im not good at sup com, im not stupid im just not that good at strategy games. I've tried and the learning curve is really steep, i learned the hard way.
ps: i got this game because of your casts :)
flash244gaming There are plenty of us Average joes in the FAF community. I suck at the game too!
well, i wouldnt say you suck, i saw your cast of the game with you in it, but im like -100 bad...
flash244gaming I'm -300 and still play daily :)
That so hard. I flat-out don't know how anyone in their right mind would have not nuked those fleets. It's simple strategic math: "What does the enemy have that can kill me? Oh, those fleets! And I have nukes! Goodbye, navy!"
I had that problem, just go back to the youtube main page and try again in a minute or two
run out of movies and shows to watch thank god for long setons games
Crazed Chariots thought: "Oh, so there's two armies on my doorstep. NUKE THE COMMANDERS! Even though they have nuke Defense!". Stupid, stupid, stupid... Arghh.
1:02 Not a battle, a massacre.
Subbed I love your Supreme Commander vids they are awesome :)
an these nukes omg he shoots 4 nukes at the same place
The nuke aim was really disappointing, made me a little annoyed :P
I will have to side with you on that one, i have never seen worse target prioritisation for nukes than that. Even though we can see everything, he would have had to know what was on the shores.

That was the most amazing match ive ever seen.
How many times did they transfer those paragons?
I wish I could transfer my hand upside Chariot's face
Gules cast the canis 4v4 you recently played on the 28 or 29th please *puppy eyes*
1:00:54....Setons is a fun map but lags like hell. Really takes away from an otherwise fun opportunity.
How was the video 2hrs long on RUclips , but the replay was only one?
I believe Aeons is best due to its highest DPS and high velocity missiles. The Seraphim ones miss a lot and the Cybran ones use very slow missiles.
oh my god this is brain meltingly epic
how the fuck can u not build anti nuke for your paragon and rapid fire attillery wtf
A complete rebuild of the engine would be nice just so Multithreading would be implemented. Really run up the unit counts then before lag starts.
How about a building that creates a "teleport jammer" region. I think the teleport is a too OP thing. Maybe this can be use to counter the teleports
i just found this channel and i love strategy games was wondering which supreme commander is this the forged alliance? cuz im interested in joining the community

New to this, does paragon affects the brain cells of the player?
haha, i couldn't stop laughing when you said. "a fairy has died of terminal hemorrhoids"
a 2 hour long game....im gonna need some snacks for this one :)
what a throw from the bttom team
Im thinking of buying supreme commander FA, are there many people playing still?
I think ILIKETA is pronounced I-LIKE-T-A, not ILL-I-KET-A. Of course I'm not the one doing the replay and ILL-I-KET-A does roll off the tongue better than I-LIKE-T-A. Either way I do enjoy these replays from Gyle. Please keep them coming!
is it just me or did it look like the pink guy was just standing around doing nothing with a f**king para??
I think GasPoweredGame should do a kickstarter where they redo Forged Alliance, in exactly this way, but coded to run smoothly, without any lag.
Gyle, you can NEVER be too selfish about your mass :D
Abandoning the naval game went some way towards their loss. Getting two paragons up was amazing, but as good as Crazed is, he really could have been waaay better with the targeting of those nukes.
Never thought about it like that. Yeah naming that game supcom screwed a lot of hype over.

well at least there is planetary annihilation?
this is almost A full length movie
how do you get nuked and not immediately fill your base with smd?
2 hours of beauty
My favorite map ^^
Stratbomber strat: Bombard them with wreckage.

wow now that was a true epic!
looking forward for this, as always its gonna be good
54:22 up-left HERE IS YOUR 90% Nuke Battleship! :)
Nice match. But Aeon Tzar is all that you need. Couple of them to be sure to pumel nmys.
The publishers made a mistake with SupCom 2. I am sure at this point they can realize that.
Crazed living up to his name lol
its an Epic Epic
How can i make the game to show me how much units damage are?
the unit database is viewable from a tab in FAF.
What is this?
