Mystic you should do a list of awesome designed pokemon that were ruined by bad stats/abilities. There’s a good number of cool pokemon that aren’t popular because they arent good in battle. First one I thought of is Beautifly, its majestic but has low stats and gets easily countered due to its typing. I still didnt give up, when gen 3 released i got a copy of sapphire for my birthday and raised one to win the master rank beauty contest and to battle the elite four with the rest of my team. As a Torterra fan from all the way back with Diamond and Pearl's release I have to say it's nice seeing it get the love it so often misses out on. It certainly isn't the "best" Sinnoh starter but it's design was always just so amazing to me that I couldn't help but love it most.
I have loved Primeape ever since Gen 1. But boy did it need something. ANYTHING! PALDEA DID IT. AND I AM SO HAPPY THEY DID. I have never had to replace Primeape from my favorite fighting type. Then Annihiape happened.

Yeah, I'm right there about Chandelure. It EASILY became my all time favorite Pokémon when it was introduced. I just LOVE it's design, and being a Fire/Ghost type just sold it for me. I like fire. I ALWAYS choose the Fire starter for my first Playthrough of a new generation! ❤❤❤
Torterra is my favourite starter Pokémon. I love the idea of the World Turtle (in this case a Tortoise). It’s also partially based on my favourite Dinosaur, the Ankylosaurus.
Verlisify may be a Horrible Poketuber. But to an extend, I'm not a fan of most of the designs of Gen 9, well, specifically, their disappointing Shinies.
1. Togekiss: something about it is just so perfect. Round friend like and super strong. Plus it brings calm joy. As you’ll notice as you go down the list I’m a fan of cute things actually being super powerful. Plus serene grace is so great. 2. Gengar: a prankster with a super simple and iconic grin. I love its glass cannon play style and like how it puts things to sleep 3. Empoleon: first Pokémon so I’m biased but I mean it’s a super sick emperor penguin with a trident on its head. Plus piplup is so cute 4. Goodra(Hisui of normal): like many I got back into Pokémon in x and y after a short break. I loved the concept of psuedo legendaries and loved even more the idea of a derpy slug being as strong as a legendary. From here hisuian goodra has got me to top 100 in the world in vgc 5. Mimikyu: I soloed my first play through of Sun and moon once I caught this guy. Didn’t touch the rest of my party. It’s so cute and small and love it’s typing. I also like how it is way more powerful then it looks. Plus it’s a mix of both of my favorite typings 6. Grimmsanrl: it has the personality of gengar mixed with a gym bro. I also love how it’s hair works almost like tendrils of goo like venom. It has a sweet typing and sweet ability to. A swole prankster I love it 7. Mawile: a great shiny and is so small yet with its mega it base attack is essentially 260 with huge power. I’ve swept many with this dude and shiny hunted it for weeks in swsh. Bring Megas back!! 8: Ampharos: my first full odd shiny and such a good one too. It’s so cute and pretty bulky for it’s time. Kinda felt like an electric starter: strong, friend, and reliable. It needs a buff in current gen it’s been power crept so hard 9: roserade: it’s design is honestly just so good and I’ve used it in every diamond pearl playthrough. It’s masked and caped up with style. Wish it was a bit stronger 10: glimmora: such a bizarre design yet so enticing. It’s a rock… no a flower. Crystalline rock with a cute little face? Sign me up. Plus it’s super cool unique ability making it such a good hazard setter. It has potential to rise through the ranks with time but I’m avoiding recency bias.
There are a few examples of mons I downright hated until using them, couple of them being Volbeat and Illumise. Bug is my favorite type and they were maybe the last bug types I haven’t used in a play through, so I tried them and I’ve gotta say…….now they’re among my favorites. Tail Glow Volbeat is fun as hell
The only thing I disagree with in this video is how you pronounce Doublade. It is 2 blades, double blades, so duh-blade makes more sense then doh-blade. I liked the dark purple with a dark gray tint that it becomes as yes I obviously like Base Charizard's black and red shiny as most do but I also like the dark purple, kinda almost black looking Mega Y as dark purple is my favorite color
The original theory behind Entei, Suicune, and Raikou is that they were once a Flareon, Vaporeon, and Jolteon that died in that fire and were resurrected by Ho-oh.
A little extra detail about Kartana, it actually speaks in the Anime (the language matches the dub), it just speaks backwards. Lockstin pointed that out when he covered the Ultra Beast Battle Royal he did with Terminal Montage.

I can say that i really like Kingambit but a few days back i thought what would have been if they sticked more to the chess aspect. So a branched evolution with Queen and Kingambit the Queen strong like the Kingambit we have and the King "weak" (stats going lower by evolution) yet that in the form of possible beeing the second mon with something like Wondergard or another strong abillity fitting to losing when the King falls with that it could also be pretty strong yet weak on the surface. As i said i like Kingambit how it is but i cant get the idea out of my head how this concept could have gone.

Cool list, I love the Ultra Beasts, never seen anything like them, and Chandelure as well out of this list the most. I think Hydregion is my favorite gen 5 Pokemon, it looks truly scary and has a beautiful color scheme.
For me it's Volcarona. The base design & the shiny are both excellent. I still think Gen 5 is one of the worst rosters overall, but it's really a group of extremes. Some really great ones & really bad ones.
Cubone is one of if not the best designs in the series because with just the design alone you already can tell what Cubones Backstory and M.O. is. Cubone is perfect

The biggest issue with Gen 9 designs is there are so many good ghosts it’s hard to take them all. I also find Chandalure a Pokémon that is much better in later mixes than when it was part of gen 5s exclusive roster. It just fits in better in national dexes than the Unova dex for some reason.
Sandaconda has been growing on me for sure. In fact, I started a new playthrough of Sword just so i can use one for my gym challenge. I'm also getting ready to breed for Silicobra in Scarlet

My theory on the legendary beasts is that the old paradox forums receipt and Scarlett and violet evolved into Jolteon, Flareon and Vaporeon type Pokemon. When they died in the burned Tower, ho-oh recognized the ancient DNA in them and awakened the DNA once again, allowing them to take the forms we know today
For me Greninja, Haxorous, Umbreon, Infernape, Annilape, Rowlett/Decidueye, Dragapault, Scizor, Armarogue/Ceruledge, Hisuian Zoroark, Flygon, Gengar and Torterra are some of the best designs pokémon has come up with!

Honestly, I don't like Clodsire's design as much as Quagsire. Its design just doesn't vibe with me as much. But I'm still gonna give props to Gen 9 for dishing out a truckload of banger designs.
Still my fan theory that the 3 pokemon that died in the burnt tower was either dittos or eevees (or their evolution) pokemon that already have the ability to change themselves so Ho-oh didn't have to use too much power
I was heartbroken when Ash left after Bisharp got an evolution because I really wanted to have Ash 1. Catch a second shiny pokémon. 2. Have it be a Pawnyard that was booted from her squad for the "shameful blue color" as Meowth would translate and Ash would help it raise her level to a bisharp and it would defeat 1 of its 3 brothers to gain her evolution item then take on the 2 others before finishing with the Bisharp who kicked her out to be defeated by the blue weaking he'd foolishly kicked from his group so she evolves into a shiny Kingambit.
I absolutely love Torterra’s design. I really don’t know how Gamefreak were able to pull off the concept of a continental turtle but they did it.

The only thing I disagree with in this video is how you pronounce Doublade. It is 2 blades, double blades, so duh-blade makes more sense then doh-blade. Feel free to do as you wish, since this is not meant to be a nitpick, but I felt the need to point it out.

For me my top ten in no particular order, infernape, Umbreon, ceruledge, annihilape, Dragonair, magneton, clodsire, Pidgeot, torterra suicune
I strongly like the design of Mega Charizard Y especially shiny, I do like the X design as well but for me I like the Mega Y as far as offensively and use and design mostly shiny
I liked the dark purple with a dark gray tint that it becomes as yes I obviously like Base Charizard's black and red shiny as most do but I also like the dark purple, kinda almost black looking Mega Y as dark purple is my favorite color
My favorites are Darkrai, Gengar, Genesect and Umbreon
Rayquaza will always be peak Pokémon design imo.
Gigalith is pretty cool.
in my opinion ash-greninja and charizard-mega-x are the best looking pokemons
The original theory behind Entei, Suicune, and Raikou is that they were once a Flareon, Vaporeon, and Jolteon that died in that fire and were resurrected by Ho-oh.
Though I've only used it in a playthrough and a battle team with friends once, I absolutely love Nidoking's design
A little extra detail about Kartana, it actually speaks in the Anime (the language matches the dub), it just speaks backwards. Lockstin pointed that out when he covered the Ultra Beast Battle Royal he did with Terminal Montage.
Suicune is my favorite I put so many hours in crystal and I still have the promo from the 4th movie I love suicune
Pokémon designs are just awesome, sure there are some that may not be the best potential but it’s perfect and I love it!!

Suicune is my second favourite legendary behind Articuno. I love its graceful but powerful look so SO much
I can say that i really like Kingambit but a few days back i thought what would have been if they sticked more to the chess aspect. So a branched evolution with Queen and Kingambit the Queen strong like the Kingambit we have and the King "weak" (stats going lower by evolution) yet that in the form of possible beeing the second mon with something like Wondergard or another strong abillity fitting to losing when the King falls with that it could also be pretty strong yet weak on the surface.
As i said i like Kingambit how it is but i cant get the idea out of my head how this concept could have gone.
i have Aegislash in my top 10 so that's ironic
Lapras, Shednija, Frogadier, Torterra, Ivysaur, H Avalugg, Heliolisk, both woopers evolutions, shuckle, and my favorite all time Heracross would be my list off the top of my head

Cool list, I love the Ultra Beasts, never seen anything like them, and Chandelure as well out of this list the most. I think Hydregion is my favorite gen 5 Pokemon, it looks truly scary and has a beautiful color scheme.
For me it's Volcarona. The base design & the shiny are both excellent. I still think Gen 5 is one of the worst rosters overall, but it's really a group of extremes. Some really great ones & really bad ones.
Cubone is one of if not the best designs in the series because with just the design alone you already can tell what Cubones Backstory and M.O. is. Cubone is perfect

For it's design, Ivysaur grew on m. The half blooming flower, between bulbasaurs seed and venusaurs flowering plant, is the coolest illustration of a middle stage
The biggest issue with Gen 9 designs is there are so many good ghosts it’s hard to take them all.
I also find Chandalure a Pokémon that is much better in later mixes than when it was part of gen 5s exclusive roster. It just fits in better in national dexes than the Unova dex for some reason.
Sandaconda has been growing on me for sure. In fact, I started a new playthrough of Sword just so i can use one for my gym challenge. I'm also getting ready to breed for Silicobra in Scarlet

My theory on the legendary beasts is that the old paradox forums receipt and Scarlett and violet evolved into Jolteon, Flareon and Vaporeon type Pokemon. When they died in the burned Tower, ho-oh recognized the ancient DNA in them and awakened the DNA once again, allowing them to take the forms we know today
For me Greninja, Haxorous, Umbreon, Infernape, Annilape, Rowlett/Decidueye, Dragapault, Scizor, Armarogue/Ceruledge, Hisuian Zoroark, Flygon, Gengar and Torterra are some of the best designs pokémon has come up with!
Annihilape reminds me more of Akuma from SF than an Oozaru, though I can see the similarities with the latter.
I've always loved Parasect, and I have no idea why. I wish it was better 😭

Honestly, I don't like Clodsire's design as much as Quagsire. Its design just doesn't vibe with me as much. But I'm still gonna give props to Gen 9 for dishing out a truckload of banger designs.

i really love Suicune, but ive always wished its "headpiece"? looked a little different... it always makes me think its an ice type instead of water.
I was heartbroken when Ash left after Bisharp got an evolution because I really wanted to have Ash 1. Catch a second shiny pokémon. 2. Have it be a Pawnyard that was booted from her squad for the "shameful blue color" as Meowth would translate and Ash would help it raise her level to a bisharp and it would defeat 1 of its 3 brothers to gain her evolution item then take on the 2 others before finishing with the Bisharp who kicked her out to be defeated by the blue weaking he'd foolishly kicked from his group so she evolves into a shiny Kingambit.
