    alot of this is good that they are shining a light on the prejudice they face. as a community i wish we focused more on how WE can fix our own community, find a solution etc. rather than blame and play victim. great video.

    I’m glad you guys spoke on the swimming cap thing I had to quit swimming because my hair just wouldn’t fit and it really sucked having people be like I didn’t know black people could do competitive swimming. Like I’m still human and I been swimming all my life. But being called masculine as well just for excelling at a sport.

    I don't give a damn what anybody thinks or says. I love my real black women. Black women with exclusive lineage, like me, that goes back to the killer cotton fields of the American, south.
    That is the most vulnerable and neglected woman in American society. We cannot preserve our cultural identity without are foundational black women, who throughout American history, had to pick cotton alongside of us black men, who had to go back to the plantation and be sharecroppers, alongside of us black men, who had to sit in the back of the bus alongside of us black men, etc.
    Only for us black men, to say today, that our black women, who have been displaced with us black men, in the death and the decadence of the diaspora of the western world, to say today that are hisorically selfless and dedicated foundational black women have attitudes. We suffer from a lack of knowledge. Very disappointing!

    I can hear searching for Brianna Rollins after i remembered her win in Rio16. It's heart breaking to hear all these untold stories the public and most black universe is still not aware of. I always miss Brianna doing that dip on winning line. In Europe FORMULA1 is also fighting Lewis Hamilton by cheating in his final race to curtail his dominace. Am happy he changed his hair to rocking dreads on winning podium. It pains them that black excellence given the same chance of opportunities in sports will be a real takeover. Am sorry my beautiful sisters for what you went through.

    This such an important topic that really needs to be addressed in sports. Having said that, it is imperative that we have the right people speaking out about it though. Briana did not get banned for just one missed test as you all state in this video. She's missed four in total AND already had a previous suspension in 2017. She is a repeat offender. As we go forward, make sure the right folks are representinf, so as not to derail the movement.

      @Ash Hegde this is why affirmative action in higher education institutions is dangerous. Thomas sowell made the point that affirmative action time and time again puts many people in institutions that can’t keep up , and thus are set up to fail. They get accepted to an Ivy League school, have a hard time, and fail. When in actuality, they would have been near the top of their class in schools like FSU, Michigan state, Pitt, etc.

    "As black women"...no dear, as athletes you're literally expected to perform really well and that's a great compliment cuz I'd rather people have large expectations from me than nothing. Also, imagine black MALE athletes saying this. They'd be absolutely laughed out of the room. Apparently, black women want more lenient expectations which goes against the "equality" they're after.

    • @theluckylian

      No AS BLACK WOMEN she could also say as black people. But it’s simple black people are just more athletic than a lot of races so yes we as black women and black people are expected to be better than BETTER. It’s not like they aren’t being laughed at either…we want equality period nothing more. Not “more lenient”

    • @farandscott4078
      @farandscott4078 2 года назад

      @Ash Hegde Reading is fundamental, but more importantly comprehension. Just like his comment is irrelevant to a story about how black women are being disrespected in sports, your comment is irrelevant as well.

    • @farandscott4078
      @farandscott4078 2 года назад

      @Ash Hegde So what does character and behavior have to do with the type of swim cap one wears? It does not even have anything to do with performance either. So it's easy to blame disrespect on the victims and not on the racist, mysogenistic progenitors of the disrespect.

    • @farandscott4078
      @farandscott4078 2 года назад

      @Ash Hegde Stop while you're behind. There is no short-hair swimcap rule or requirement to have short hair. You might want to read up on both the issue and rule before you try discourse about something you clearly do not know.

    BRM’s situation is remarkably frustrating and it appears that there’s no face-to-face communication happening to sort out some basic details.
    This larger discussion… maybe the trigger is pulled quicker on various decisions involving black figures in sports (ie coaches, players). Maybe sponsors and endorsements are handled with less leniency or something.
    However, I just don’t see too many folks in pro sports whose jobs aren’t on the line after a bad year or two. I mean current MVP Aaron Rodgers is out the door at the end of the season in Green Bay! Folks wants Big Ben out in P’burg today! Mike Tomlin could be on the hot seat. Steve Nash is expected to win a chip in Brooklyn!
    It’s a cold world in sports.
