Flame Beats The main difference is consent. The Amish are told that it’s the modern day and can choose to leave the Amish community at any time. The whole point of Rumpsringa is to give their youth a taste of the outside world and the ability to make an informed decision about whether or not to stay Amish as adults. This guy just lied to and kept these girls as prisoners.

This was nothing but a 6 minute dig at LA and I'm so here for it.
I feel you on this. I lived in LA for over 10 years, so I've basically been to this show more than a few times. I especially liked the line about "if you want to feel unsafe in the loneliest city in the world."

I lived in Los Angeles for ten years and everyone I knew who considered themselves artistic acted exactly like this. Bowen Yang’s character in this is half the people I knew there. Also, love the Arclight theater shout out at the end.
This episode of SNL feels as though it has more "random" sketches than usual.
To go with how "random" American life at large has become, no doubt.
Keep in mind that this was cut for time.
And as usual...none of them remotely funny

Why is the "cut for time" sketch always the best one of the night? Somebody's making some bad calls.

Usually, I can see why some sketches are "cut for time" - shame this one didn't make broadcast, one of the funniest from this episode.
It was to on the nose and actually good for once. So..they cut it.
I mean, it was basically just a skit for insiders. The writers/cast members are all professional comedians and have all probably spent hundreds of hours at these open mics. It's still funny to an outsider audience, but these are probably pretty well known tropes on the comedy club/open mic scene.
@@joetraw2110 That's a fair observation! I'm a couple of years into doing stand-up comedy, so maybe that's why I took a shine to it.

The most unrealistic part of this sketch is that there isn't 5 minutes of dead silence in between acts when the audio is still being set up
