Could SNL just do one episode a month of cut for time sketches? They are consistently the funniest, if not perhaps the most easily understandable.
Great idea! If not once a month, maybe the weekend following the season finale.

While these unaired skits are available to watch on You Tube and have been added to home media "Best of...: collections, would a seperate talent compensation package have to be negotiated if the skits are included as part of a television broadcast episode? I guess the most qualified person to answer that question would be Lorne Michaels. If that is so, I hope something could be worked out. I think Pyrethryn's idea would be a fun post-season finale tradition.

Maggie E is right. They usually cut 2-3 sketches between dress rehearsal and air because they don't get much play. This stuff gets popular on the internet because it reacts differently than a live audience does.

Agreed. But they're cracking because the sketch is getting zero love, from the audience. So, in that sense I get why it wasn't in the show? Have you seen the one with Bill & Fred, as doorman? Jamie Foxx is the host. If you haven't, you have to watch it. They're on record talking about how bad it was, and how they couldn't stop breaking. It's so funny.

Breaking is often annoying but seeing Beck, who is a consummate professional and never breaks, finally laugh is fun, as is Kenan’s rare break. The violently swiveling hips paired with “I will make love to my computer - THANK YOU FOR FIFTEEN YEARS OF SERVICE, DAVID” is just a funny-ass image man. Beck is the funniest.

I happened to be on a field trip to NYC with my high school’s music department the same weekend as this episode. We got a tour of the NBC building on Friday (the day before this), and when we got to SNL’s studio we actually saw them rehearsing this sketch down below!!! I remember noticing Aidy first, and then freaking out over Keenan, and then once PAUL RUDD walked out from behind the screen we all collectively LOST OUR SHIT. It’s one of my favourite memories ever. Then, the next day (the last full day of our trip), me and the girls I was rooming with watched SNL together from our hotel room in New Jersey, and I was so disappointed this didn’t make the cut, but it was still so unbelievable to watch the show after literally seeing them rehearse the day before!!!! It’s something I’ll remember forever❤️

I know, some people get so stuffy and suddenly become experts on flaws in sketch comedy about that shit (despite being random RUclips commenters with no actual skill), but for most of us, a break now and then can make things even more hilarious and engaging.

They need to stop greenlighting all these stupid "unintentionally weird" songs. It's always the same formula....
* Someone sings an unintentionally (to them) weird, nonsensical and/or irrelevant, song
* Everyone else points out how nonsensical and/or irrelevant it is (ex. "Did you just say....?" "What does that even mean?")
* Then one or more people start to get into it
* Everyone ends up getting into it or something bad happens, or most often than not, the sketch ends awkwardly because it seems like the new cast/writers don't know how to end sketches so they ALL seem to end in an awkward mess
