Really enjoy these covers. You seem to get them all spot on, given Graham’s style that’s not always an easy task haha. Was looking at the cover you did for the heights, sounds good but I noticed when I listened to the original the other day, there’s another guitar in the background, quite highly distorted. Just wondered if that’s something you’ve looked at? Quite hard to pick it apart cause it’s in the background but really adds a lot of emotion to the song.

hey thanks a lot for your comment, i'm very glad you enjoy my work :)
as for "the heights", yeah i noticed there's a second guitar in the background, but there are two reasons why i didnt record it. the first one is because my ebow had broken down a few months before the album was released. graham doesn't use the ebow since he has that mason guitar with a sustain mode (which he uses a lot in the waeve btw). since i dont have that, i would probably need to use the ebow. something similar happened to verse 2 of "goodbye albert" but i managed to recreate that just with lots and lots of gain input. the heights was a bit problematic when i tried that and i decided to let that one go since i thought "well graham's probably gonna play chords only". the second reason is because i was working at a pace of recording one song per day IN the week it was released. i had a lot on my plate and unfortunately some things needed to be sacrificed. today i look back at these videos and wow there's so much i'd love to improve. but at the same time i really like them all because it was really fun and challenging doing that so early on, everything was fresh and felt like new territory to explore. as for being hard to pick for it being in the background, i think that wouldnt be an issue. since i isolate instruments with either izotope rx8 or moises .ai - which is how i make these backing tracks - i think it would be easier to figure that out. but i cant say it for sure as i havent tried that!

@@BlurCovers wow yeah, I can see how useful isolating the instruments/tracks must be for the process of creating these videos, very interesting to hear the process. First time I’ve heard of an ebow and have to say, having looked it up, though I probably wouldn’t use it a lot, the heights is such a good song that I’d definitely consider getting one. I’m quite skint at uni so don’t have a lot of money to commit to the patreon every month I’m afraid. But if you ever did manage to isolate that track and make a tab for it, I’d be more than happy to pay for that. Have you ever considered selling tabs for individual songs? Either way, I’m very grateful for all these videos, there’s a fairly niche community that really benefit from what you do so thanks a lot for that

@@theodickens7923 thanks once again for the kind message at the end, it means a lot! :)
the good thing about patreon is that you don't need to pay every month, you could join in for 1 month only and download all available content if you want. currently, if you become a patron now (starting from the $10 deluxe tier), you'll have instant access to over 80 songs (tabs + guitar pro files with all instruments included) and every month you can unlock 3 new songs from the removed song list i have there (there are 31 songs in that separate list - just check the "about" section on patreon for more details). not to mention i have a lot of other cool stuff including +20min video lessons, exclusive content, early access, polls, etc.
as for selling tabs for individual songs, i do have a $15 tier on patreon called super deluxe, where not only you have access to everything listed above, but you can also choose 1 song every month and i'll record it and write tabs for it. so in the end, i think it works the same way. but again, people are free to become members and unsubscribe at any moment. as a matter of fact, although i have a very supportive community on patreon, with people who have been supporting me for over 2 years already, i'm also used to people subscribing and unsubscribing, say, every 5-6 months. it's not a problem at all, i appreciate any kind of support. if you're interested, make sure you check the songs available there before anything - obviously you won't have access to the download area but you can see everything i've posted so far, including which songs are available and which aren't :)
