    Egg 150g
    Sugar 90g
    Vanilla Extract (Optional)
    Cake Flour 75g
    Cocoa Powder 15g
    Unsalted Butter 20g
    Milk 15g
    ※ Panning amount by size
    Mini (diameter 12 cm) : Ingredient × 0.6
    No. 2 (diameter 18 cm) : Ingredient × 1.5
    No. 3 (diameter 21 cm) : Ingredient × 2
    Butter Cream
    Unsalted Butter 450g
    Egg White 150g
    Sugar 180g

    I love this cake! For those who struggled and ended up with an extremely dense cake, I made sure all the measurements were exact to the recipe including the eggs. I also used black cocoa to make an ‘Oreo’ flavoured genoise, and sifted the cocoa and flour in at 3 intervals instead of one so it was easier to combine. I found with adding cocoa/matcha, it was harder to fold without over mixing the mixture. Hope this helps!

    I made this cake yesterday for my mother's birthday and she loved it! The taste was amazing, very moist and fluffy. I think this is the best chocolate cake recipe ever made! Thanks you for sharing💖💖

Hope i'm not answering too late but no, i just used unsalted butter and after whipping very well with the mixer the yellow color lighted a bit more and i really didn't care much of the color haha. But you can use white food coloring if you want the butter cream to be perfectly white! In case you don't have white butter

      @@megcanlas4961 No, in my personal taste i don't think it was too sweet. But you can try adding parts of sugar at a time and tasting while mixing until you think is sweet enough☺

      It’s yellow because has more fat in it.super tasty😋😋I guess is the reason why you all use Crisco there to make buttercream.white but tastes like a 💩.right?

    Increase the temperature until the Water boils = incremente la temperatura hasta que hierva el agua.
    Then Putin the egg whites in a bain-marie = entonces poner las claras a baño maría.

    I tried this just now, but I mixed the milk n butter into the egg mixture right away! Should have watch the whole video before deciding whats come next😅😅 so I didnt get that ribbon shaped batter :') my first attempt in making this cake..need to be extra careful next time 😅

    If I use 21cm pan, the 150g egg ingredient should be x 2 giving me 300g egg? Is that right?

      No the cake flour is called soft flour as well it is a different type of flour your cake might come out weird if you use AP flour.

    Hi, I made this butter cream. It's really good. But I cannot make cactus like you did. It melts very soon. Am in Malaysia so the weather is really hot. How do i stabilise this icing to do the cactus?? Can I add shorting to this recipe?? Pls advice. Appreciate very much.

    Is this the buttercream you use for all your piped flower buttercream? The butter you use is so pale and maybe that’s why your buttercream turns out so white as well! The butter here in New Zealand is very yellow so no matter how much I whip it to make it pale, the buttercream always end up slightly yellow 😭 and when I mix the a colour (blue for example) it turns out more green than blue 🥲

      aHello... A trick to make your cream whiter is to place it with a toothpick Gradually add purple gel food coloring and mix. Purple and yellow are opposite colors, that's why it turns white when placing purple. But you must do it very carefully and patiently.
