Very cool! I usually use one of these for on the go songwriting, and sometimes to control different parameters/fire clips in Ableton....I'm curious about your mapping here, between the two different pads on the mpk, did you map the samples to a drum rack?
the crash is from an audio clip with no loop! than another pad is with the same crash but with a drum loop... another one is with crash with vocal loop.... and some other pad is with cutted vocals in a drum rack!!
Evan Smith i build the "main beat" in the very start of the track as you can hear. The track start with kiss+bass, then add claps in another clip and then that groovy hats with the crash!
Hi, i remember i used ping pong delay in some drum parts like 6-7% or something for feedback and dry/wet which is mapped as the miminum parameter of the knob (to give some movement). With the same knob, i can go "higher" to charge the track when i cut off the low freq :)!!!! If u was interested about the delay trick @ 3:32 and above, that's just an envelope of ping pong delay written in a clip! Cheers!
yeah ive given up on FL 11 i guess no one knows how to get this thing to work with performance mode. but like 2 guys who wont tell anyone how to do it.
Hey I've got a question Would you suggest that the MPK mini is a good way to start creating beats? Do you think a beginner would be able to get into beats with this? Thanks
Goddamn, I think it's the same as playing any other instrument, just different approach. You just automate the technical aspects of a "song", like you automate playing chords with a guitar. But you still have to feel each chord, and it sounds different when you really mean it. If that makes any sense... This is a kind of bridge between us and the sounds we want to hear... In the future we will probably not even need a physical instrument, we will just think the sounds and hear them at the same time. If that makes sense..
You are the best you should be famous!

Oh cool, makes sense so the main beat was on a separate clip then?
