Love watching your videos having a 2150 Unimog two years into my build. It can be slow and frustrating at times but I think of the end result and know the efforts will be worth it!
there should be a heater control valve behind your dash, maybe the steel wire has broken and is not operating it when you slide the heater control across
That could very well be right, however, that panel and controls are an absolute nightmare to work on, I am still trying to connect everything up and constantly discovering bits that are disconnected. You need tiny hands for this.
Sympathy Thabo on rate of progress. I'm glacially creeping forward on my second Unimog, mounting a Zeppelin box which is still an empty shell. Suggestion - you might just bolt an old caravan body on the load bed and save 2 years compared with building from scratch . It may not be perfect but you could start some trips and learn what works and what doesn't. My first truck had many issues, but I found it with a camper conversion that got me started on the prime objective of getting out to explore. Will be interesting to see your thoughts on fuel transfer between tanks. I've resisted Mr Roothy's truck build ideas on a complex electric valve setup to select which tank is used.
That is a good idea, on the fuel system go simple, the fancy system seems to work very well but why not go simple and cheap if it works, I have not explained my system, might do it in another video.
@@ThaboNelmeanshappiness Thanks, would look forward to fuel transfer knowledge transfer. I'm convinced separating the tanks gives huge resilience gains. My first truck had a single 400 litre tank with constant fear it would fall off !
Also one thing, I have a delica l400 4x4 van. And its system relies heavily on the cooling system running 100% or they overheat easily (big engine small space) bypassing a heater core is a no no as it is part of the entire system. I'm not sure with unimogs but I wouldnt switch the flow to the heater core. Perhaps making some sort of vent covers or seals is a better plan. (No expert on mogs by any means, but all part of the design if you know what I mean)
Hi, there is a switch to stop the flow but I think mine is stuck open, so I think putting the tap in is just replacing the stuck one. I am going to install an aircon and my unit have a heater core that plugs into the trucks liquid cooling system.

Good on ya mate
Hey mate love the Mog! how much work did it need to get it over the pits a rego'd? Is it mostly simple stuff? Cheers from Perth.
Hi, it was very easy, just one side light and a rear light.
