RIP Norm HELD (AHS Coach) , Alan Darner (Highland HS Coach), Jason Townsend (AHS Player), Tom Harvey (Color Commentator).

The memories...Two Anderson coaching legends R.I.P!
Thank you so much David. Born and bred Hoosier I remember that basketball crazy town in 1982 when GM practically shut down. Highest unemployment rate in the country..horrible winter storm//but the 9,000+ seat Wigwam was sold out for the sectional, as always, and packed. People got some to the gym riding on snow plows (those that were lucky enough to get sectional tickets in a LOTTERY draw for crying out loud!!!)
& these were the 'GOOD' 'OL DAYS! Nowhere, in America presented itself with such 'PASSION'..

No doubt about it! That 89-90 season was an amazing year with a wild run to the state finals.
This game ranks as one of the all time Wigwam greats. Especially with that game winning shot!

People I've worked with that aren't from around Indiana can't believe how big basketball was in Anderson.
Glad I hung on to those old recordings, and a VCR lol, so people can see what b-ball was all about around here.

I've shared memories with folks whom didn't know how big B-ball was in little 'ol Anderson as well..& their mouths dropped when I gave them a glimpse..lol

It was something else. I remember being at that game and a lot of them like it. Those were the days.
That was one of the best Anderson vs. Highland matchups in the history of this rivalry. RIP, Norm Held, Jason Townsend, Alan Darner and Tom Harvey.
