At the age of 7 she came out and sang a classic song at close to the level of one of the greats of jazz history, Billie Holiday; later in the competition she sang another classic song, Summertime, at close to the level of another great, Ella Fitzgerald.... and since then she has only got better and better.... she is I am sure destined to go down in music history as one of the greatest singer-songwriters of all time
I guess we will find out ther world is hers to conquer.
It was at this moment that everyone knew she is going places.
This performance is an epic beginning on the path to greatness. We already see her amazing musical instincts, as well as some of the technical excellence she brings to every performance. And there's no mistaking that wonderful warm tone. I'm grateful to Norway's Got Talent for the growth she showed throughout the contest. Great reaction, T.I! I'll suggest you react to her cover of Bohemian Rhapsody next. The one on America's Got Talent: The Champions is an epiphany. Here's the link: ruclips.net/video/qF0JV28vgLw/видео.html
Can't wait to react to some more for sure!
@@RadioTeo I want to say right here that I love Angelina as a vocalist and as a consummate human being. Having said that I want you to hear another young singer named Daneliya Tuleshova. She is 6 months younger than Angelina and almost a foot shorter, but her skills as a singer, though different, are just as other-worldly as Angelina's. The video I am giving you the link to is her Blind Audition for The Voice Kids Ukraine 2017. She sings 'Stone Cold' a Demi Lovato song. After she sings that song is when the fun starts as Judge/Coaches cannot believe that the tiny young 10 yr.old could produce such a sound. The audition is 10:30 long but will seem shorter. There are english subtitles available they should come up automatically, if they do not make sure the red line is on under the CC icon in the lower right of the video screen. Here is the link. Please watch it all as she is asked to sing another song, the first time I've heard a request of a whole new song being asked for on any of the got talents anywhere. She sings a Ukrainian song and sings it in Ukrainian which is why the judges are surprised. Again here is the link, PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE if nothing else watch this video thank you.

Your reaction to this was perfect. Authentic and heartfelt, not overplayed at all. Thank you for sharing your true respect and wonder for this little creature we call Angelina. In my view, she's the best there ever was. And now, we must somehow protect her with our love and prayers.
Thank you so much for watching I appreciate it!!!
You went into this with the thought, "This will probably be great!" And, if possible, it went beyond great. What a story Angelina is and aren't we lucky we are around to witness what is going on with her. Your reaction to her singing 'Gloomy Sunday' was one of the best I have ever heard. Please continue listening to her, there is so much for you to enjoy.
I have subscribed.
Thank so much for the kind this is only the beginning of this journey!
With this performance, the world became a better place since many now believe in miracles.
Beautiful statement!
Angelina has occasionally had contact with singing teachers. But not so much to change her self-taught way of singing, but more to learn how to protect her amazing voice. Angelina, 4-5 yo, attended Oslo School of Music and Performing Arts after-school program, She learned to play piano, guitar etc. She has also learned to arrange music etc. She started singing when she was very young! Since then, she has trained an incredible amount. I have heard that she practiced several hours a day, already at the age of 4-5.
the she put is amazing, great job also to the people surounding her
@@RadioTeo
Her mother tried to slow her down, but, Angelina wanted more. Compulsive? Yes. Obsessive? Yes. Prodigy? Yes. Genius? Yes.
First recorded singing at eighteen months of age.
At two going on three she is seen scrolling through RUclips looking for Jazz artists to listen to for hours.
At three she tells her Mother she wants to sing on that Simon show.
At four she enters school.
At five she starts studying music theory learning to deconstruct and rearranging songs to her liking.
At five she try’s to audition for Norway’s Got Talent, but is told she is too young and must be seven.
At five she tells her Mother she wants to sing at the Nobel Peace Prize Concert.
She is speaking three languages. Norwegian, Persian and English.
She is practicing four to six hours per day six days per week.
Mother is still trying to slow her down, as she says her job is to put the brakes on. The brakes don’t work.
At six she enters sound booth for the first time and records four songs, Rolling In The Deep , Hurt, Sky Fall and most notable, I Who Have Nothing, which is well worth reacting to.
Note that Angelina is probably the most documented child prodigy in history, as grandmother along with her Mother has been recording from eighteen months of age to the present.
@@billweekley4077 It's perfect!!!!
I discovered Angelina long ago now and she is truly amazing. There are four songs from that contest, at that age, also there is a video of her in a recording booth at age 6. She is very experienced from an early age but now as a teenager she's come a long way since then. Anything you choose to listen to witll astound you. She speaks a few languages and plays some instruments. She is now living in the US. She entered America's Got Talent and didn't win, even though they were blown away by her talent, but it's good because she was free to take her time choosing what label to go with and managed to find one that gave her the freedom to do things her way. Yes she couldn't really understand the song, known as the suicide song, but her performance was incredible nonetheless.
Тhe future is looking bright for Angelina i wish her much success, thank you for the support Christine
@@RadioTeo In a way she reminds me of my favourites, Geoff and VoicePlay, who also take a well known song and make something magical. She adds her own brand of magic to a song.

I have listened to this countless times and I still pick up the occasional detail I missed. This is such a rich performance. She even starts a half-beat into the bar and on her long last note she takes down her volume slightly a half-beat before the final orchestral chord. (I'm not sure about my musical details but that is how it sounds to me!) I'm looking forward to hearing where you go next with Angelina. The field is wide open!
I'm excited for everything
Here is a quote from Angelina (7y) from an interview with TV2 after her Auditions NTG 2014. "The reason I chose this song is completely random. I love jazz, but" Gloomy Sunday "was random. It was a night I could not sleep and my mother was stressed that I was awake long after midnight. Then I borrowed my mom's iPad where I wanted to listen to jazz on RUclips before I fell asleep. Then came a picture of a beautiful lady screaming at the sky and with her eyes closed. I heard the song "Gloomy Sunday" that night and then I had to hear it every day. I love the melody. I understood well what the text was about because I know English well. Every time I sang it I felt something special about it, it's hard to explain in words. When I sang it for mom, she said that this song is nice, but that it was incredibly sad song. " ♥👣👸🏻🎷
In a interview after this performance Angelina's mom was asked why she was crying during her performance?? Were they happy tears??
Mom said; " They were happy tears but they were also sad tears because I know I just lost my daughter to the world. ♥👣👸🏻🎷
Gloomy Sunday.
You'll notice the last judge (the one with his mouth open) asked her if she knew what the song was about. I believe he was asking to see if she was aware of the history of the song. That's because 'Gloomy Sunday' is known to history as 'The Hungarian Suicide Song' and was banned in parts of Europe during WWI because many believed the song had led to a rash of suicides in the population. Angelina, unaware of this at the time, I'm sure, simply replied Yes, it's about a sad Sunday and I think the judge was pleased to realize she had a simple child's view of the song and it's meaning. Thus the comment in essence Yes I could feel that sad sunday. Amazing Angelina would start her career with such a controversial song. I'm guessing she has since learned the history and it would be interesting to hear what she would think about it today. Color me curious. ♥👣👸🏻
i didn't knew about the backstory of the song either so thanks for explaining. All that matters to me is that she loved the song and had her own backstory to it so i understand.
Great comment Õle. The original lyrics were titled “The World is Ending”. When poet Laszlo Javor wrote his own lyrics, he titled them “Sad Sunday”. Later on, the English lyrics were written by Sam Lewis and were titled “Gloomy Sunday”.
When Angelina replied that the song was about a Sad Sunday, was it just a young innocent child’s understanding of this song? Or was it that Angelina’s inquisitive mind had already found out the origins and the history of the song? I tend to to believe that the later is more likely.
Cheers from Sweden
As far as I know, she never recorded Gloomy Sunday again.
@@keithserafy She recorded it for use in the TV series "Lilyhammer", and it was sent on TV in the Norwegian version, but I believe this scene was omitted from the international version. ruclips.net/video/Svo64MKYcZU/видео.html
@@erik-nm5cf You're right, I forgot about the Lilyhammer version. So she sang it twice, at 7 on NGT & at 8 for the TV series, but never after that, as far as I know.
Here is a great example of how Angelina sounded like in the Summer of 2022 at age 16 - this video is part of a documentary about the 2022 Kongsberg Jazz Festival in Norway - There is a short interview of Angelina in the beginning followed by her performing two of her original songs live in concert: ruclips.net/video/HKK66K5u1Fc/видео.html
Thank you for the request!!!
You probably already have a stack of links to catch up on, so here’s a few more. First, here is a TV interview from when she was 9 years old. (Subtitles on! It’s in Norwegian) You’ll get to hear the story of the bare feet straight from the horse’s mouth. ruclips.net/video/-cCLDY0CSZ8/видео.html the interview ends with her being asked to sing 😢 Don’t worry. Here it is, probably the only 9 year old on God’s green Earth brave enough to take on “Unchained Melody!” ruclips.net/video/wPfMzMeBLbo/видео.html
And as a bonus here is 10 year old Angelina singing two songs with a full orchestra. ruclips.net/video/s5YLpTh4l9o/видео.html Oops! I got to babbling and almost forgot to say, great reaction!
The more requests the better and thank you.
Beautiful and accurate reaction on this musical phenomenon, so after 6 months you decide to deepen "the topic" Angelina? Now comes the fun part and you have to stock up on amazement and emotions with Angelina, it's the minimum price to pay. Who at the age of 7!!!!! shows up at a talent show with a jazz repertoire.. WHO? and performs the songs to a crazy level, I remain of the idea that it is a reincarnation, not of one but of various jazz artists, a bit of Holiday a bit of Ella di Etta di Sinatra in short a miscellaneous with the gift of a voice and an incredible tone, no fear of the public ... it was born for this .. thanks again .. good life .. Massimo👍
Appreciate your support and yes this was a performance against all odds
Discovering Angelina Jordan was the best thing that happened to me in 2020...!
I would say the same but for 2023
2014.
Did I win? 😊
My band wanted to play 'Fly Me To The Moon' so I looked on youtube, and I found Angelina Jordan.
She has over 2 billion views on Facebook, 600,000,000 on RUclips and millions on Spotify.
Oh wow!!!!!
T.I., good morning! Check out Wikipedia for information about "Gloomy Sunday." Then you will understand why the judge asked Angleina, "Do you know what that song is about?" Are you interested in hearing more? This age? Older age? The others will regale you with links, I'm sure, so I'll wait for your next one before suggesting the next video. Welcome. Grandma Ellen, out.
Thank you so much for watching!!!
She said in an interview not too long after this performance, I love to sing, I just don't like to talk. Ha! I thought that was funny. Great reaction. 😎🇺🇲👍🌟💯
I respect that trait about her, straight to business haha!
You have a new subscriber! I have been watching reaction videos featuring Angelina since 2017, and I can say without any doubt that your comments are among the very best I have heard. I note that Bulgaria is your locations, so assume that English is not your native language. If that is correct, I am in awe of your mastery of English. Keep reacting to Angelina and you have my subscription for life.
I will keep on reacting to her that's for sure and I appreciate your kind words!
I'm glad you got past your initial reaction to our ' barefoot princess', one of amazement, but also unbelief. This lovely person is the real deal and she will be the superstar that she dreams about. Please continue on your journey reacting to her music. She has three more sessions with NGT and they are all wonderful. And wait till you see age 10. Truly unbelievable.
I cannot wait!
I call her the future Queen of Music. She is signed, at 14, debut album comes out this year. She been working on it since.
Sounds exciting
@@RadioTeo very exciting... industry has been fearing this day. AJ is a high priority artist with Republic Records ( Ariana Grande, Taylor Swift...) people have been lining up to work with her for a long time.
@@I_scribbles oh my... this will be awesome
I like her cover of Qeen Agt I think ,it was amazing
I will check that out eventually!!!
If you wonder if she knew the meaning of the song as you noted she is just seven. You stated after all she is just seven. Angelina knew the meaning. In interview she stated “I knew the meaning as I know English very well”. If you don’t believe this child understands the world, you need to buy her book, “Between Two Harts “ published when she was nine, based on her diary entries at age six. Available on her website in English. You will then understand you are not dealing with a seven year old. She is the youngest published author in Norwegian history. All proceeds go to charity.
How is this possible wow....
@@RadioTeoShe’s a very very special person..
No need to be nervous T.I, she was'nt. nice reaction, thanks.
Hahahaha thank you for watching!!
You mentioned how she stacked the odds against herself by choosing to do this kind of song at her age (I'm paraphrasing). I feel the same about her entire run on the show. If you didn't know anything about her and you were shown a list of the songs she would be singing…
1. "Gloomy Sunday", in the style of Billie Holiday's 1941 recording
2. "I'm a Fool to Want You" [a cappella], in the style of Billie's 1958 recording
3. "Bang Bang (My Baby Shot Me Down)", in the style of Nancy Sinatra's 1966 recording
4. "Summertime", in the style of Ella Fitzgerald and Louis Armstrong's 1957 recording (released in 1959)
…and were told these are going to be sung by a 7-to-8-year-old Norwegian girl trying to win a TV talent competition (against contestants of all ages, with all kinds of talents), you would *not* be thinking, "Now, _this_ is a winning strategy!"😄
I mean… granted… this audition _did_ have a certain "shock factor" going for it, but apart from that, Angelina just relied on being able to sing really subtle songs really, really well. She didn't do any of the things one would typically associate with a young singer in her situation: no belting, no super-high notes, no toe-tapping rhythms, no prancing around the stage, no attempts to "rev up" the audience, so to speak (some of which _were_ done by other slightly older singers in the competition). As I like to put it, she "won the hard way". And not just won, but totally *dominated* the competition, becoming an early favorite of both the judges and the TV viewers, and ultimately receiving 46% of the nationwide TV audience vote in the final (the remaining 54% being divvied up by the 9 other acts who made it that far).
If she had never done any other public singing while still a child, I feel like what she accomplished in just those four performances - over not too many more months - would have made her a bit of a "legend".😊
She is really one of a kind
Seven years old, competing against much older ones, singing Jazz in her third language. Leaving them stunned as one judge tells her "You ARE music." This is the one that got their attention. But the next one of Billie Holiday's, "I'm a Fool To Want You" ruclips.net/video/LXknLZDoRVQ/видео.html That I believe sealed the deal as she sang it on stage with her competitors directly behind her, almost breathing down her neck, singing in her third language Acapella...and left everyone speechless.
Well what can we say, she is just amazing!
Nice reaction and critique, welcome back, some catching up is in order for sure. Enjoy the journey, time is short before her album release this year. Subbing to follow...thanks!
Thank you for watching, looking forward for some more
And it's a "YAW" 👍🏻from me, too!! 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥💕💕💕💕💕💕🎤🎤
Thank you for watching
The judge asked her if she knew what this song was about because the song talks about the period after the World War when many people committed suicide because of that he wanted to know if she knew what she was singing about because she conveyed the emotion in her singing in an amazing way 🦶🦶 👑🗣🎙🎷
Yes I understand that!
Thank you T.I for taking time to learn more about this child prodigy who is now considered by many a musical genius. She signed at 14yo with Republic Records part of the United Music Group (UMG) family, the largest label in the biz. She released her first single with RR in 2020 at 14 and her 2nd at 15. RR has stated that they expect her first original album to be released later this year after she graduates high school in May. She appeared at the Grammy's this past Sunday and was with the CEO's of RR and UMG.
Big things are coming for Angelina, incredible!
thanks for a great reaction
Thank you for watching!!!
Impeccable vocal artistry is hard at work. ❤️
Hard work does it all

thank you1!!
Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for watching!
Bang Bang was the third song she sang then Summertime
Gotta check these out for sure!
I'll tell you why that judge asked if she knew what the song was about .. because the song is about a suicide .. and i believe he wondered if at her age she would know that .. I think he was relieved she simply said "its about a sad Sunday" and i loved how he responded saying "yes .. and i could feel that sadness .." perfect response.
please please continue seeing the other 3 songs she did here. All 3 are absolutely worth seeing.
Thanks for your reaction. I enjoyed it. DO MORE! I'll look for you!
Thank you so much for the information and for the support
T.I. I have a current but short Angelina song that I consider the best she has done so far. It is real, it is raw, it is righteous. It tears open my heart and soul every time I listen to it. I listen to it at least once a day. Here is the link.

Sir, FYI, Angelina got a gift from BEYOND, her slightly bigger larynx, her smoky voice and a high intelligence. Her mother found her singing Whitney Houston in English at age 1,5 year old. She discovered the Jazz collection of her grandparents shortly after and decided to practice singing at age 3. Practicing about 36 hours weekly. For technical advise she visited the music academy of Oslo at age 4. etc.
She speaks Norwegian, Swedish, English, Farsi/Persian and Japanese. In School she learned German ansd French. We know also for sure, that she plays the piano and guitar.
My friends here will tell you a lot more about her.
Please believe me, when I say, she is a wonder and we are happy to witness the career of a future superstar. In the time between 2014 and 2020 she sang at charities and so on and gathered herself and with the help of others about 30 million USD. She was seen a few times to bring food to the homeless of LA:
Sir, be safe and happy.
Elmar from Germany.
Thank you so much for watching and for this comment!!
@@RadioTeo Sir, you are welcome. Andy Schnell and a lot of others will help with information. I am more the guy for the tidbits to fill out the story. Ask, if you have questions about AJ and I will try to answer as truthful as I can. For example, did you know, that she is a noble woman since age 8? Norwegians informed me. She was declared "The National Treasure of Norway" by King and country. No Joke. Her instinct for music is so great, that a seasoned conductor of a respected military band asked a 11 year old girl during rehearsals for advise (there is a video). Musicians around the globe, today call her THE BOSS.
Be safe sir. Elmar.
Nice detailed painstaking reaction to our princess .
