It was cup final rugby. We didn’t hit our usual 80% output and when you’re up against another top team you won’t win. But king Leo is correct, we move on. It fucking hurts but we have to move on

Fairly simple statement
We don't have a right to win. La Rochelle played better on the day and deserved their victory. Still think we are in a good place with home fixtures in the Champions Cup next year and same in the Six Nations for Ireland. Probably best to have work on's going into a World Cup year.

The best team did win on the day but I’m not sure I understand this logic about tries somehow being more worthy of a win than penalties. If you get more points you deserve to win to matter how you got them. The score on the board is what matters at the end of the day.
@@jmo8934 of course it IS..this IS the spirit of the game.. for sure i m so excited when a player scores a try, and i m definitely not for a penalty.
@@leaphorn34 your excitement levels may go up for a try but that’s irrelevant. You get the points however you can get them on the board. That’s the game. Scoring tries in some scenarios will get you a bonus point. Not in a final though. It’s just about getting the win. A while down the line that’s all anyone will remember about the 2022 European cup.

I honestly think from Sexton's interviews in the 10 days lead up that Leinster subconsciously thought "well we've done the hard work we should win win this." They were favorites and sometimes that works against you. La Rochelle were excellent and deserve to win. Well done.
Cullen did not even have the respect for the winners ! Only excuses .... look at the difference with Ronan's interview ! A true gentleman and ambassador of the game 🏉

Sorry well done LaRochelle .....great people great supporter 2 great trainers......dont under estimate the role played by Donnacha, the forwards performance had his hall mark stamped all over it.....ie line out and agressive close in possession

Surely that is coaches job to prepare team for final and work out how to stop opposition and still play . We have been shown to be lacking now on 4 occasions . Also, you have to be able to rely on scrum . That was Irish front row under pressure all day .
"Away in France" thats the excuse right there. Why a coach in any sport can't just say the better team won is beyond me

@@chrisChris6969 yep blew it, if these two teams played 10 times Leinster would win 6/7. Really bad performance played right in LRs hands but Barnes was also horrific. the amount of pre latching, neck rolling and no hands chop tackles was a joke

Vander Flier deservedly voted European Best Rugby player.......he is in line for world's best player .........James Ryan is not international standard (blown up by the Dublin rugby press) very important that Coombes and Ahearne are fast forwarded to the international team. We will need them to front up physically in the world cup. France's back row bullied us at Stade de France in the 6 nations

Ryan had great potential but has been injured a lot and now beaten up quite a few times. Henderson similarly. Happily we can look to the future with Baird, Molony, Ahern and Treadwell and hopefully some of these get blooded in NZ.

The game is about carrying the ball and scoring tries. Three tries to nil should always carry the win. On the night the best team won.
