The Leon penalty only got called when Barkov went down. A call was not being called before that. And the Foegele penalty was total crap. After (obviously) hit, naturally L.D. moves both arms outwards so that his stick moves up and away from head/ body. Barkov, had the puck facing against the boards w/ Leon coming in from his right-backside and as Barkov just happened to turn towards Draisaitl, then the play clearly shows Drais' arms 'held in close to his own body' w/ no swinging upward motion(s). In other words, the 'elbow' was not deliberate/ on purpose. This is just two games in and practically, that's how FLA plays (as they didn't really change anything from prev. game except for 'hounding' offensive McD and offensive-defensive Bouchy, inorder to create gaps during wear and tear breakdowns. That, practically is what they needed to slow us down.

I hope I am wrong, but I just don’t see the Oilers winning 4 out of 5 games. I want them to win, but the first 2 games have shown me, they don’t want to do the things they need to do in order to win. Yeah Bobrovsky is playing well, but the Oilers hit 3 or more posts. Those shots need to go in the net and the game would have been totally different.
I dont even know what you do at this point. Only that connor nuge hyman line has any real threat in scoring. Florida suppressing shots and clogging up all the grade A chances. I’m really not liking these line combos. Holloway should not be on the second line. We all know Kane plays better with Draisaitl but clearly Kane is hurt. The Leon penalty only got called when Barkov went down. A call was not being called before that. And the Foegele penalty was total crap. Didn’t even stick his knee out and the player came back for his next shift.

The Draisaitl 'incident (after slowing the clip down & zooming in at different angles)' clearly shows that Leon's arms are parallel and stationary to his own body w/ 'no deliberate' upward swing w/ his right elbow/ arm ingeneral (both arms stay practically and mirror-imaged together w/o any upward swing motion before & at immediate contact.
After (obviously) hit, naturally L.D. moves both arms outwards so that his stick moves up and away from head/ body.
Barkov, had the puck facing against the boards w/ Leon coming in from his right-backside and as Barkov just happened to turn towards Draisaitl, then the play clearly shows Drais' arms 'held in close to his own body' w/ no swinging upward motion(s).
In other words, the 'elbow' was not deliberate/ on purpose.
This is just two games in and practically, that's how FLA plays (as they didn't really change anything from prev. game except for 'hounding' offensive McD and offensive-defensive Bouchy, inorder to create gaps during wear and tear breakdowns.
That, practically is what they needed to slow us down.
