My brother has been in military for almost twenty years after joining at 17 and he has some of the funniest stories since being in the military. His boot camp stories are the funniest since he didn’t take it serious so the drill sergeant would constantly be in his face and him trying not to laugh at the drill sergeant. On one of his bases they did pranks on all the newcomers and then a full blown prank war will start between the newcomers and them. Luckily he has sent me videos of their pranks and dumb ideas that they did so it’s always a good laugh when rewatching them and forever saved.
The zoom meeting one reminded me back when all classes for school were online. For college, all of my classes were on zoom. In the morning. So there I am still having to wake up early. Though this time I'd wake up at 7 instead of 6 in the morning since class was at 8. Anyways, I was always in my pajamas. I'd just throw on a sweater over and sit in front of my laptop with my cup of coffee (and sneaking in some bites of pancakes sandwich) Though sometimes I'd put on a different shirt but still keep my pajama pants on.
That North Korean looks fucking fantastic in that blouse. He looks like a badass ROK marine. Rah! Thank you for your sacrifice Kangyoo! We are honored to have you with us on this platform!
It worries me how casually he says things like “I’d get beat up if I said that” “I worked as a slave for ten years” “It was dangerous to ask to use the phone” “I would get beat if I tried to dance” As if those are a given and he hasn’t even begun to speak on the truly horrifying things going on in their military

4:40 im dying rn lmao
I love how chill the north Korean is
3:20 they did not want to explain that 😂😂😂 he wasn’t screaming for sure
First time seeing a north korean guy smiled❤😂
sanghak is so cute lmaoooo , like his laugh is so nice
I feel bad for Kangyoo after hearing that he was electrocuted and beat up in his life. And yet he turned out to be so adorable and reserved. I really hope he and his family have a good time, lots of free time, and good days ahead wherever they are.
Edit: correcting my spelling
I don't think he has any other family. At least not in south korea, its very rare for more than 1 or maybeeee 2 people in the same family to escape from north korea and then find each other again.
they make a good team for reactions. thanks Dimple
Wow, I have to read so fast! The Korean language can convey meaning so quickly!
I've started slowing down the audio just to keep up but these two are definitely worth slowing down the audio to get the jokes :D Most times I forget I can slow down the audio.
HE WAS SUPPOSED TO BE DISCHARGED AT 2013? I WAS BORN AT THAT YEAR…
Soldiers with this sense of humor for the danger and death around them are truly the best ones. They can often take the most pressure.
I want to see more of these two. Specifically Kangyoo. I would love to hear his story.
Have a mobile phone?
Try to have fun?
Kangyoo: Nah fam you're getting beat up
You can tell the stark difference in their upbringing, the guy on the right suffered a lot
5:24 Military Roleplay servers be like:
“Yes marine?”
“I got a cut”
*spawns in Medical kit pills chucks at him*
*health boosted 100%* “thx”
gang said “i was supposed to be discharged in 2013, i discharged my self in 2016” nah gang ESCAPED😂 took him 3 years of overtime but he got out😂
North Korean soldier talking about how miserable it is over there while the South Korean laughs has me dying LOL.
N: yea they beat us up and chopped off our legs for smiling
S: HAHAHHAHAHAHAHA
0:21 Steven Universe?!!
(I’m sorry, it was the first thing that came to mind)
"it's this big"😌
"Good for you"
It was a honor watching your video. Thank you for the insight in to NK military life. Very interesting!!! Welcome to your freedom men!!!!!!!
@5:18 it’s funny how the superior laughs at his own joke 💀
6:40 this made me laugh imagining a trainee punch his way out
I don't know how to explain it, but the younger guy smiles like Emilia Clarke
They both make such good friends!!!
4:00 bro wild for that 😅
These two are a great pairing! Dry humor from the north Korean defector and the incredibly cheeky south korean dude just messing around 😊
This is so interesting, also super cool how these 2 guys are cracking jokes with eachother, I was seriously laughing out loud
There's a time to play around and a time to be serious. During boot, you get trained to know the difference lol
I love this channel !!! Yay new binge watching channel hehehe
What a smile!!😍😍
Kangyoo's military humour 😂😂😂 i just can't 😂😂😂
to answer their question at 5:57, they're at the Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs
I see myself:
Right one is before military and left side is after.
Respect to both of you.
These two guys are cool. There's no fun and games in North Korea. They all definitely know a better meaning to life than most people, and know how to count their blessings.
This is a crazy cool concept for a show
The building behind the 3 soldiers is Cadet Chapel, it's a place of worship.
At the Airforce academy, right?
First impression, I love the sense of humor. Awesome to see people joking around
Their laughs are so contagious!!!
The South Korean guy’s laugh and smile reminds me so much of Seventeens Dino. IDK WHY BRO 😭
That North Korean looks fucking fantastic in that blouse. He looks like a badass ROK marine. Rah! Thank you for your sacrifice Kangyoo! We are honored to have you with us on this platform!
Sanghakssi laugh is cracking me up. He has a great laugh!
7:20 is soooo good i cant stop laughting😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
the dude from south korea is so cute i swear and his laugh made me giggle a lot not gonna lie
It worries me how casually he says things like
“I’d get beat up if I said that”
“I worked as a slave for ten years”
“It was dangerous to ask to use the phone”
“I would get beat if I tried to dance”
As if those are a given and he hasn’t even begun to speak on the truly horrifying things going on in their military
It might seem informal, but as a Veteran, I can tell you those guys are extremely professional. That informality is basically the only way we make sure we're still sane lmao
I would love for you guys to have a KATUSA on to talk about how his experiences differ from the typical Korean soldier. I hear KATUSAs have it a lot easier, which is why so many Koreans try to apply 😂
I love the extroverted and dry humor combo from these guys XD
They look like there playing dress up 😭
I enjoyed the interaction between these two guys.
Kangyoo!!! We Americans salute you and glad you made it out !! Like that he can joke about discharging himself 😂
3:36 the word hes looking for is freedom
So cute and funny. I love the South Korean’s laugh.
My favorite military tiktoks will forever be of the guy who continuously throws himself out the window.
"Glad that you came to South Korea" i think we can all agree we also are glad he was able to escape 😢❤ i hope more people can safely get out. Wish US could do something to help but I understand it's not our place. I hope it gets better there. I really pray it does.
They are both so funny. Love this duo
poor kangyoo dude.
