    Finding this video after googling the possiblity of painting water color on tissue paper was what I was hoping to find. Your work is absolutely wonderful in this piece and the effect of bringing texture in this way can be manipulated to create varying degrees of relief on the paper, adding a sense of depth and beauty. I have found another inspiration in your art with the idea of using it on furniture as decoupage which could be a lot of fun. This is a beautiful example of creating this form of texture and I love the simple yet very effective presentation of a rocky cliff without having to go into great detail with paint. Thank you and I look forward to exploring more of your videos.

    I did this experiment with facial tissues, which has a different absorbency than wrapping tissues, it acts like really thin unsized paper. After stacking my facial tissues to a good thickness, I “glue” it together by completely soaking the sheets is water and then letting it dry. I diluted some food grade powdered gelatin in water and brushed it on my now dry sheet of tissues. I apply a few coats, since it’s unsized. Letting that dry, it really felt like crazy rough watercolor paper haha. The paper now has a ultra crinkled texture that is great for experimental practices.

    • @LizChadertonArt
      @LizChadertonArt  2 года назад +1

      oh my goodness, I would never have thought of that. It’s like making your own paper without making wood or cotton pulp first. I guess the only thing is the tissues will degrade with time, but does that matter? as you say, brilliant for experimental work.
