One of them bands where each member brings something so unique it all just works and no other 4 could ever replicate. Paul and Topper together was perfection.
My favourite examples of Paul Simonon's playing are definitely London Calling and Guns of Brixton, but his bass line on Safe European Home is so damn good as well
@@andrewpappas9311 i knew Paul wrote it and sang it for live and for the record. I've seen them play it live and joe is playing the bass while Paul sings lead vocals and plays Joe's telecaster guitar. It's great. Have a search on here and you will see it.
@@matthewjdouglas6471 thats half true. In live shows, Joe played the bass line because Paul cant play bass and sing at the same time (its actually hard), but in the original recording of the London Calling album he plays it as usual.
@@RubenWarlock most rumors behind the scenes that seem to be true fir nost part is paul played bass on first album and live .. they used studio musicians for the most part during recordings .. toppee played bass on rock the casbah as well.. i dont think it was because paul wasnt a good enough bassist .. i think done because of efficiency in studio .. who knows .. but i kno this again for most part mick wrote most those bass lines

Listening to Guns of Brixton at 2am while driving by yourself on a dark road is something else.
My personal favorite is "Lost in the Supermarket". So groovy 🎶🎵
So wanted to be in this list :(
Check out Dub Spencer & Trance Hill's Clashification Of Dub...

Paul Simonon - The man, the myth, the bassplayer!!!😉👍🎸🎶
Cool thing about magnificent seven is the whole hook is rooted in the bass, that's just awesome
Actually 9 basslines by Paul Simonon. Norman Watt-Roy wrote & played the bass for Magnificent Seven. Sounds great..
I've also read where he played on Hitsville and Rock The Casbash
@@bluegtr2001 Actually 8. Topper Headon wrote and recorded the bass line for Rock the Casbah.
Glad you included Capitol Radio. Kind of a lesser known track, but there's a lot going on in that song!
oh i’m so delighted charlie don’t surf made it in!! one of my favorite songs by them 💛💛
Paul was totally different from any punk bassist of his time! He'd nailed any tune! The SOB could truly play that bass!
My favourite examples of Paul Simonon's playing are definitely London Calling and Guns of Brixton, but his bass line on Safe European Home is so damn good as well
Didn't joe play bass on guns of brixton
@@matthewjdouglas6471 Nope, it was Simonon and he apparently sang on it as well which I never actually knew

Awesome stuff! The Clash definitely got some kick ass basslines
Mega !! and a tribute to Paul Simonon's inventiveness. Thanks !👍💥
Dude, please! Make Ramones songs in the style of The Clash, they will sound amazing, and you are so freaking good
the Damned and the Clash have crazy bass lines, they add so much to the song. very musical
Great bass playing.
Can't see The Clash suing a fan for celebrating their music.
Awesome! Simonon whould tip his hat for you.
Nicely done! I dig the Elliot Smith t-shirt too! His Figure 8 album is still one of my favorite albums of all time....
The Clash
THE ONLY BAND THAT MATTERS!!
Charlie Don't Surf is hands down the best bass riff ever.
you are killing it
Amazing, thanks!
No problem!
the only band that matters
***ever mattered.
I love the clampdown bassline
Has anyone ever pointed out the spelling mistake in 'claimed'? Great playing though... one of my favourite bands!
Personally would sub "The Crooked Beat" for "Radio Clash" but I'm weird.
really cool
Perfect band!
Excellent!
Mag seven...nice!
Thanks bro
Police and Thieves
Maaaaaaaaggggniiiifffffecent Seven.♥️♥️♥️
Rock the Casbah is magnificent
London Calling and Death or Glory are the best IMHO
Both great picks 👍
What strings do you use?
The call up
there is a wrong note in Radio Clash........
Paul Simenon is one of the greats!
How did you get this tone? It's awesome
P bass
You are so good they copy striked you! Congratulations!
MAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGNIFICENT!
Wot?..no Police and Thieves
@@SugarpillProd junior Mervin's didn't even have a bass...it's entirely The Clash
@@colin-qp4zrA reggae song with no bass? No. He had a bassline but it wasn’t the same
Request cover berdiri teman - close head
Pop punk from imdonesia 🤘
Police and Thieves!!
It's not a clash song though.
Police and Thieves anyone? Just me?
I didn't include that one as it's a cover.
Ah right. Cheers.
You have a lot of mids man
Not necessarily a bad thing
A little bit more bass would make your sound fatter
I think I was just trying to match their general sound in this video, which isn't all that bass heavy.
