David, I would like to say to you how much my brother and I admire your videos on RUclips. In a sense, we are a combination of you. With the aid of my oncologist, University of Texas Southwestern Medical School I have beaten back Stage 3 colon cancer and a single occurrence of basal cell skin cancer. I have lost half of my retinas due to extreme myopia and therefore much of my peripheral vision. I am also a Type II diabetic. He had a viral infection of his heart. He was placed on a left ventricle assist machine until they could find him a replacement heart. He was very touched by story about your transplant. His internist told him that he as a Type 1.5, that is a mixture of Type I and Type II. My oncologist told me that exercise was as important as chemo. I started walking in the parks around Arlington, Texas where I live. I kept seeing these strange machines that turned out to be recumbent trikes. Your videos guided me in my purchase. I have a TerraTrike All Terrain and ride almost every day. You are right. I always fell better when I am riding. I try to always say a prayer for you when I ride. May God bless you as you continue fight your cancer.
Hi Craig and thank you so much! Yes, unfortunately it sounds like we've got many medical road bump similarities in our lives. However I'm so happy to hear your got a trike and are enjoying it. Of course, I agree with your doc and his feelings on exercise being so important. I think it holds true for many if not most diseases. Sometimes it's hard to push yourself but once you do, it always feels goo. Did your brother find a donor and have his transplant?
@@craigslinkman1348 That's great news! Tell him that in the beginning things are overwhelming with the meds and everything else. But let him know things to get back to normal again.
David, your channel is never a “medical drama,” so don’t be afraid-rather, maybe it’s helpful to think of it as a narrative- a story which you are sharing with us - a life story via a trike that is enlightening and beautiful. Thanks so much for sharing- Joe
@@DavidRidesaTrike Here is a Q? 4U, hopefully provide a little distraction. You had mentioned that your wish list included an ICE Fat trike so you could ride in winter. What’s your opinion of the new ICE 365 or the AZUB Ti-Fly X with EP8 Shimano motor? Both seem suitable for on/off road. Curious, have you ever been to Cycle-Con?
@@josephczekala8094 One of the big problems with riding in the snow is clearance. If your seat bottom isn't higher than the snow, you're not going anywhere. That is what prevents those other trikes for being good winter trikes. And yes, I was at Cycle-Con back in I think 2014 when it was held in the Chicago area. It was a lot of fun!

Hi David, I am so glad I found your videos about a year ago. I have gone back and watched most of them from the past and enjoyed each and every one.
